- We think our daughter might have another rare genetic trait! She has two different colored eyes, but we also can't figure out if she has a special hair disorder called uncombable hair syndrome! It sounds like a made up syndrome, but it's real! How do we know if our baby for sure has it or not? We try to tame it, but it doesn't last. Her hair is so fluffy! Jess is feeling so exhausted from the pregnancy. The first trimester is rough!

When i was pregnant with my first, my grandmother had just passed away. Throughout my pregnancy i would find random change on my bed and on the floor in my room. Then im watching an episode of John Edwards, and find out that it could be a loved one trying to tell you theyre with you. Maybe Austin's Grandpa is happy because of the pregnancy. 😊😊😊
I still can't get over how cute she is. I'm so excited for another little Micah!!😊
My daughter's hair was just like Micah's until she was about 3 years old, and then all of a sudden her hair started growing long and thick. She's now nine and we have cut and donated 12 inches of hair twice now.
Micah is such a smart baby!! I love how she understands SO much for her age 😍 and AWWWW!!! Austin doing her hair was the sweetest daddy daughter moment
They make baby bows with VELCRO attachments. My daughter had fluffy feathery white hair for the first 18 months. Those velcro bows were magic! 💕 love to all six of you.
I saw the oldies on instagram this morning (hilarious, can't wait for that one) Jess i'm a firm believer in 'meant to be' so definitely keep that penny! 👍 xx p.s floof or or no floof Miss Micah is beautiful 😍
2:10 how about 'Penny' for Baby #2's nickname? 😁
MK that would be so cute
She is So precious! My daughter had the same hair when she was little. She has normal hair now, just fine and thin. I bet Micah's is just fine and thin too. She is so cute!
Awe she growing so much her lil actions awe she so cute her hair look so cute in lil piggies awesome video you guys keep making them ✌️💗😀
Jess, Go to the place there called Kid to Kid. They have awesome new safe baby/ toddler hair things there.
Omg Micah is so cute💕💕
I have really fine straight hair and I need a moisturizing shampoo. I then use a styling product after. Definitely would suggest maybe switching up the shampoo/conditioner. Love the bow headbands. She is so darling!!
For baby hair they make these tiny terry cloth pony tails and also these teeny tiny mini claw clips that work great and do not pull hair on removal. Hope you feel better Jen.
Micah is just so adorable. And I think she just has baby hair! Buy with it being so fine, I would probably let it grow a little bit more before tying it up in a ponytail or pigtails!
I have always had fine hair, my hair would have been exactly like Micah’s, when I was her age. And it is so fine, plus it is baby hair, so it will break more easily. But she looks absolutely adorable in those hair band bows that you often have on her head.
It just makes my heart melt when Micah signs! I love it! It’s amazing that she is able to communicate with you so young and before she has learnt how to talk.
I really enjoy your vlogs so much. I can’t have children, so I am really enjoying watching Micah grow up and to be able to witness her learn all these new things. It is so special and I am very appreciative that you guys allow us to enjoy watching Micah grow up.
I’m so excited for baby number 2 to come along as well! I’m sure that Micah will be an excellent older sister. 😃🥰
Penny from heaven. Austin's grandpa
Smooth and sleek conditioner for micah. Such a lovely family
Micah is the cutest. It looks like she has a lot of short hair under the longer hair, which pushes the fine longer hair up. Usually ine you start trimming and that all starts to grow out more it will start to lay down 🙂
You should do the men try video map like a dart board. Throw darts to guess. So they are guessing but it's also up to chance. And whoever is the closest wins the point.
Mica is so cute with her fluffy hair. My grandson was born with hair that stuck up worse then that. It was so funny. As he got older it started laying down.
She has baby fine hair mine is too and mine does that during the winter time only and I’m in my 30’s . Static electricity my does that if I around the rack of clothes in Target I used some kind of smooth product.
Get the tiny little baby ponytails... the elastic ones that almost look like the bands for braces. I found some baby specific ones on a little accessory stand in the baby section of Walmart
I would just leave it alone. You don't want to break it. Its perfect the way it is!
Micah's fluffy hair is adorable. I thinkas she grows more hair it will not be as fluffy. My girl has fluffy hair 12 days old after a bath.
If you put a tiny bit of coconut oil in micahs hair and rub it through leave for hour then wash out if you do this every other day or every 3 it strengthens the hair . And the organic version is safe for micah as its all natural . You can even use it on the dogs. They can eat it aswell its good for them aswell.
Baby fine hair does that you can use spray to tame flyaway hair so it will lay down and also for frizz my daughter had that when she was little too.
Has Micah had her first haircut yet? Baby's hair will be super fine and thin (like Micah's) until you start cutting it and the it will thicken and grow out more. You don't need to cut it all off but trim the thin edges and it should help.
Yes! 2 of my boys were like this. My 2 year old still head baby side burns growing in. And my 4 yo has a little baby hair on sides to lol. Both super fine and blonde
Awwww micah's face when old man Austin walks through, when micahs says me me me lol❤❤
Thankfully, Micah doesn't have Uncombable hair syndrome. I knew a little girl with it and her hair was super dry, coarse, and brittle. It broke so easily and felt like hair that has been way overprocessed (like straw). It does not feel like normal hair. In my family, we call what Micah has "dandelion head". A lot of the kids in my family have hair like hers. They tend to outgrow it by about 3 or 4 years old. It is super cute!
I'm so glad to hear from someone who know a person with the syndrome! That confirms it.. I definitely don't think she has it now. Micah's hair is a very fine and soft texture, not like straw as you described. I like the "dandelion hair" though! :D
Awwwwwwww. . . Just leave it,. . .it will grow out, her hair (just like her) . . .are new. . . It's gotta be trained, not tamed!!! It will get thicker as she gets older. Also there's ouchless hair ties for babies. .
Do some of the crafty things on ladies and latte
My sister had the exact same poof you hair Micha has. My mom had to use the stuff they use on African American hair on her. She eventually grew out of it. The older she got, the more it laid down, and was nice and soft.
I love her fluffy hair. They also have netted head bands the you can clip the bows to at walmart so it doesn't break her hair.
There are Velcro bows. Try those any rubber band will pull it out or break. I have that super flooffy fine hair!
Maybe try some sea bands to help with the morning sickness. You can find them at places like Rite Aid. I did this when I was pregnant and it helped so much. It takes a bit for them to work but they do. I wore them even when I slept
Funny you mentioned surprising your family and friends. What popped up on my feed yesterday or the day before was the video of you guys surprising your family with being pregnant with Micah! I thought it was super cute to watch again. I can’t wait for the next video. Also too have you guys decided when to cut Micah’s hair? My sister has two boys. Her first born had hair like Micah’s and my sister waited until after his first birthday to shave it all off. It came back nice and thick. The second one came into this world with A LOT of hair. No need to shave for him on his first birthday.
I know many different cultures have different preferences on when to cut a baby’s hair. Many of my Hispanic friends wait until their kid is 2 years old to cut their hair.
I simply don't think I could shave her baby hairs off 😭 I love the fluff ball look, and I know it won't be here forever, so we're gonna let it hang around as long as it wants to haha
Austin & Jess Vlogs 💕💕 good choice! Don’t forget though when you do cut her hair for the first time, to save a little bit of it in a scrap book. ❤️💕. Ugh I’m so happy for you guys that you’re having another one. Wishing you all the best!
Colleen Ballinger has just done a video about her son Flynn’s hair that sticks right up because people thought she styled it that way. She didn’t wash it for a couple of days and it flattened down.
She is just so darn cute ❤️❤️❤️
despite the fluffy nature, people with uncombable have silvery white hair that may get a bit golden as they get older, the syndrome goes away, so i believe she does not have uncombable hair syndrome, it is extremely rare. my brother has this mutation. the hair would be extremely delicate and fragile.
I would've LOVED if I could've did your family photos, would've been so much fun! (Actually have an Autumn shoot this Sunday!)
My neighbours boy when he was that age, his hair would stick straight up. Like he stuck his finger in a socket lol. It was adorable. Then one day as he got older, it just went flat.
See a penny pick it up, and all day long you will have good luck!! Xx
Both of my kids had wild hair when they were babies. My son was little, when his hair was wet, it reached mid back. Dry? Well..... it stood straight out! Looked like he stuck his fingers in an electrical socket. Lol. My daughters hair was just so soft and fine. It took a little bit, but both of them have beautiful hair. 😊
My daughter at 2 had baby hairs come out of nowhere. She looked like Rod Stewart. Or like she stuck her finger in a light socket, lol. Now her hair is so beautiful and straight (even when she doesn't brush it).
My daughter Astrid had the same problem as a baby. Really could do much with her hair till she was almost 3. It's just because that baby fine hair doesnt have any weight to it. So it'll start taming down as it grows and has more weight. But you can always try baby lotion. Just a dab or two rubbed in ur hands and smoothed through her hair as needed. Or embrace the fluffyness lol. She's too cute with her little headbands anyways.
You could use Nexus humectress to smooth her hair down just a little bit and prevent breakage.
Crafty thing you can do with little Micah is a mold kit you can have a memory mold of her hands or feet as she grows.
We used velcro bows in my nieces. They won't break her beautiful hair
My son had the same hair and now he's almost 17 months and it's down..I think because it got too long and heavy now. :D
4:07. I couldn’t stop laughing 😂
Did u see a Dora book in behind you 2 as you were singing I'm the Map?
Dora the Explorer?? Mica is just beautiful! I slept through my entire first pregnancy
Only up to pee and throw up,the entire time!!! Second one was better, seven years later.
In the South where i live they just stick a bow on the girls head, the bow is normally bigger then the head!
Awww, leave her natural I love the dandylion look. It will dull down when it gets longer.
I hope the penny landed heads up because that's good luck, but it landed tails up then it is considered bad luck.😮 If I ever see a penny laying down on the sidewalk tails up I never pick it up!🤣
To use the hair clip ins you can hot glue some fabric to the clip part and it shouldn't pull her hair out.
She going be easy to potty train so smart beautiful Doll so adorable
Where did you get your jean jacket !?
My daughter has two different colored eyes also one brown one blue
my parents were told to shave your child hair when their little, that way it goes back full and long. so we always shave the toddlers hair when their around 2 or 3. that way they have long hair by the time they go to school. I shave my sons hair at the beginning of summer and all long and thick when he starts school in august again.
If you put baby oil in her hair it will strengthen her hair and will help it to grow thicker
I wonder if no more tangles will tame it.?
They have bows that are made of Velcro.
HELLO FROM QUARANTINE!!!!'
What if you name your new baby (if it is a girl), Penny? That would be such a cute name with a cute backstory!!
Awee, that would be really cute!
I don't think she has the uncombable hair- my sister had very similar hair when she was little and it just defied gravity lol. Like she had just rubbed a balloon all over her head constantly. I wish I could show you pictures. It did calm down and eventually lay flat, now it will not go UP. Lol. She cannot wear an updo for the life of her. Just enjoy the fluff while it lasts. It was honestly one of my favourite things about my sister! :)
Seems like she may have a mild form of the uncombable hair syndrome. Not the worst ive seen but it definitely looks like a mild form. The way it just sticks up all silly. And being extra brittle comes with that for sure. It’ll be easier to manage when shes older and you can do pigtails and stuff.
Staples has maps like that
Here in Mexico when the baby's hair is like Micah's the parents shave the hair off so it can come out "different". (Thicker and manageable).
Austin totally sounded like spongebob when he said “IM THE MAP” haha
Isnt im the map either dora or blues clues though?
Miranda Stephens yea it’s Dora but he SOUNDED like spongebob
I love Micah's hair. Let it be AU NATURAL
You guys should look into having a gender neutral onesie that says happy day
I would not think she has uncombable hair syndrome. You wouldnt be able to comb it at all because itll hurt and itll feel very dry
Maybe try some baby gel oil
the nausea, is it heartburn? i had heartburn during my pregnancy and though it was just regular nausea. i ignored it as well as i could but had enough after a year. then my doctor found out it was heartburn. would have never guessed it.
Jess, have you looked into pottasium for the heart palpitations? I had them before, and it stopped after i started adding NuSalt pottasium to my lemon water, (i put pink salt in my water too), I also take magnesium, and zinc.
My oldest daughter had hair that stuck straight up. Turns out that my husband is 1/4 Asian and didn't know it (found his dad). I wish I could show you what her hair did lmao.
Austin......was that a Memphis TN shirt you were wearing?
Almost.. Memphis Mayfire! It's a band :)
@@AustinAndJess gotcha. Thanks for the info.
Definitely not uncomb able hair. It fits her electric personality. Likely just needs some VO5 or spray in oil to calm her fly aways.
see a penny ,pick it up , all that day you'll have good luck !!!!!
My oldest looks just like my husband and sister in law and my youngest looks just like me and my brother. Except for their cheeks.
4:03 💀 this was too funny for me
Both my boys had big puffball heads of hair. I completely gave up trying 😂🤷🏼♀️
Haaiiii guys wanted to say good morning and I hope everyone doing fantastic:D love u guys
Austin you need to man up and try Oskar surstomming
Seeing you guys is a great way to start my day 😁
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
How u all doing
you need some nuplus sunrider drink for energy
See a penny ....pick it up.all day long you,ll have good luck.xxxxxx
Am I the only one who thinks she looks like Hilly and Hannah from Thr Hillywood show...?
Nah! Micah is like my cousin Ariel. Her hair was the exact same way. It will stay very silky and thin, static will effect it a lot too. Ariel now has long hair down to her bum and she is 11
Penny for luck
She is gonna lose that hair and grow new hair that will probably be a different color and texture. My daughter had dark blonde hair that was straight and thin and now at 16 she has dark brown hair that is curly and think with a course texture
Haha ur lucky day was eight weeks ago 😅
Maybe cutting her hair bald, will make it grow fuller and stronger... And more manageable.. Just a suggestion 🤷♀️.
You're hair doesn't know when it's been cut and just start growing more. It doesn't happen that way.
That's an old wives tale Rosalie
I find a penny EVERY DAY.
Am I the only one who sees a dark spot on the side of Micah's head ?
She's had it since she was born! It's like a birthmark or something 🙂
@@TaylorArdoin ok that's what I thought but I don't remember if they said anything about it before lol thanks
@@tanyagorgerat30 lol it's okay! Yes, they have mentioned it when she was smaller! ❤
That looks nothing like uncombable hair syndrome.
Don’t your parents watch your channel. So wouldn’t they already know your pregnant
I'm sure she meant they vlogged when they told them and they're just now (or next time) going to post that footage.
Her hair will stop sticking up as it gets longer. Trust me. I was worried about my daughters hair. It was IDENTICAL to her hair.... I would call her my little hedgehog. Baby hair is much finer and much lighter. And the hair follicles are brand new.
My baby is a year and a half now and we FINALLY just got a pig tail in her hair yesterday! Cherish the silly hair while you can :) I kinda miss it
I would love to know more about how Micah caught on to the sign language and if there's any special technics! 😁
Just constant exposure. My daughter knows signs. We use Signing Time videos. We've started exposing our new baby to signs and he can sign dad at 6 months. His 10 months now and can now sign ball.
@@FlamingHeartPro We use Baby Signing Time! We have Signing Time too, but haven't watched any yet. Our LO is 8 months. No signing yet, but we are consistent with signing to him.
Start simple but sign everything. Baby signing time is also extremely helpful. My daughter signed from around 9 months until 3 years old when she went to school.
More, food, sleep, mom, dad are good signs to start with.
