A teenager mauled to death by two coyotes while hiking alone in Canada was a promising young musician, it has emerged.
The victim was identified as 19-year-old Taylor Mitchell, a singer-songwriter from Toronto who was touring to promote her new album.
Taylor was hiking on a trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia, on Tuesday when the wild animals pounced on her.
She was airlifted to a Halifax hospital in a critical condition but died on Wednesday morning, authorities said. www.myspace.com...

Cape Breton Highlands National Park did not have any advanced coyote warning signs when she was present. A year after her death, the park's managers placed them at the entrance to every hiking trail (including Skyline).
What a beautiful enchanting voice that child had. I am glad I had the chance to hear it.

If Taylor extended her tour for the western Canadian provinces Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia while promoting her album, she would still be with us. She could have also toured in the northern United States. Her career would have last longer if she did that.

She should have temporarily stayed at a hotel in Sydney, Nova Scotia in order to prepare for her next concert. Besides, there were no advanced coyote warning signs in the park when Taylor was present. The lesson is never hike in a national park alone.
Wish someone would invent a Time Machine then go back to September 2009 and tell her NOT to go on that hike! (After that go back to early December 1980 and tell John Lennon to stay inside on a certain night...)

Estubo bien haber llamado al 911 pero hubiera estado mejor que ese senderista que escucho los gritos tratara de ahuyentar a los coyotes con piedras o con alguna vara grande que sirviera de lanza mientras llegaban los servicios de emergencia y los "guardabosques" que no estaban en ese momento.

It's a shame to have lost that way to such a valuable person as a human being and a woman mitchel taylor with that musical talent.
Was well have called 911 but it would have been better than that hiker hear the screams trying to scare off coyotes with stones or some big rod to serve as a launch as they reached the emergency services and the "Rangers" who were not in that times.
