There’s a big misconception about what you can do with acrylics which is usually based around the drying time. But in reality you can create some wonderful effects and employ traditional oil painting techniques

Omg! This is amazing! I am getting back into art. I have stopped for about 16 years and I have never painted before. I tried using water colour paints but it’s not for me when painting faces. I think acrylic paints are my preferred option but I will find a way to incorporate watercolours into my acrylic work or keep them for fashion illustrations. I don’t think that I will be this good right away but this gives me hope!

I thought painting a portrait with acrylic would go much faster thanks to the drying time....out of the tube, it's incredible how fast thin layers of paint dry and one barely has time to blend and "sculpt" before its completely dry.

Hello Renso, this is a wonderful work and video too. I just have one question: how do you keep your acrylic paint from drying out? For me the paint always dries up pretty quickly and I can no longer mix it. On yours it looks like oil paint and even after 40 minutes your color is still mixable. How does this work? I would be happy to see an answer. Greetings Silvio from Germany
