    Thanks. Helpful but I have a couple of suggestions: Wear rubber or latex gloves. Check how full the portable tank gets (shut the trailer valve & look through the clear elbow), disconnect from the trailer 1st to drain the water in the hose into the tank.

      Thanks for watching and commenting.
      I don't wear the gloves on purpose. I once had an accident with a hose...while wearing gloves. Basically a hose busted and got all over my gloved hands. Guess what, I had sewage in between my glove and my hand... Grossed me out bad.
      That was the last time I did the doo with gloves.
      I use sanitizing hand wipes and hand sanitizer and wash my hands well after I'm done.

    I would suggest dumping black water tank first
    Then grey water tank
    Grey water then partially rinses your tank and after done dumping, use the water rinse to finish cleaning your rhino tank

      Indeed! I agree with you! Black first and then grey! Thanks for the comment!

      @@chuckpoz1968 my pleasure! I’ve done pretty well with the 21 gallon version. I just watch it and don’t over fill it. Remember that a gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs. depending on your strength level 60-80 lbs can make a big difference. Think about your weaker partners that the job may fall to if you get hurt.
      I know that sounds crazy but I had to help a lady with her 48 gallon tote. Her husband had recently been injured and couldn’t lift it.
      In a pinch, my wife (or a young teen for example) could handle the 21 gallon tank with relative ease. Just a few more thoughts.

    Thanks for the video. I didn't realize the campground I booked up the upcoming solar eclipse (April 2024) doesn't have sewer hookups. While we will be next to the bath house it would be nice to have something like this to deal with kitchen sink water.

    I tried to figure out how the tow hook goes on my "turdle" for most of fifteen minutes. I had to bring my boss lady in for further consultation and she couldn't figure it out either. I looked for your video here and scrubbed forward to where to attach the tank to your truck and give myself a concussion smackin myself in the forehead.
    Nice work, thanks.

    On the elbow you attach to the camp ground dump hole, remove the orange contoured piece and it will thread into the hole, then attach the elbow back on. No need for rocks or risk it popping off and getting nastiness everywhere!

    Only problem with the Rhino is if your trailer drain is a low one and won't drain easily into your Rhino since it is above the trailer drain level. I've got around this by using a long hose that I can pick up and force it to drain into the Rhino. The other day I dug a hole so the Rhino was lower than the drain (since we were on sand)--just too much work!

    • @jeremsgarage
      @jeremsgarage  Год назад +1

      No problem! That is really up to you! Getting a tank the same size as the tank in your trailer eliminates the possibility of overfilling. But if you have a 30-40 plus gallon tank it can make handling the Camco tank harder. Each gallon of water is about 8 lbs.

    I want to make a simple outdoor bathroom with a tank that I can periodically take to a dump station. . Will this work somehow by connecting a regular toilet to it? Can it hold poop?

    • @jeremsgarage
      @jeremsgarage  8 месяцев назад

      Yes it would work. But I would not connect a regular toilet to it. A regular toilet uses way too much water. I’ll be honest, a standard sized porta potty would be a much easier option.

    First, always wear protective gloves. Second, always get a extra tank that's at least as big as your rv tanks, so there's no chance of an accidental overflow/spill. Lastly, if that tank were full of black tank waste, it would weigh about 175 pounds. Those plastic wheels/axle wear out fast, and when they fail you have a mess. Since you have a pick up truck, it would have been better to carry the full tank in the bed of the truck, as opposed to pulling it over gravel terrain for any distance.

    • @jeremsgarage
      @jeremsgarage  7 месяцев назад

      Meh, appreciate the comment but I just take extra trips. I’ve been RV’ing for over 12 years and have had my share of experiences. I am NOT lifting a full waste tank into the bed and the transfer tank is just nasty. Gloves kind hold stuff in so that’s experience for me. I just wash my hands, super easy, clean, and simple. If I wear it out I’ll just buy another one. (I’m on my third)

    • @jeremsgarage
      @jeremsgarage  Год назад +1

      Yes! If needed! Typically for a weekend I don’t need to dump the black tank but when I pull out. If you are going to dump the black into the tote make sure to fill up the gray tank in the camper. Dump the black into the portable tank. Dump it…then dump the gray into the portable tank to rinse it out.
