- When guitarist Marcel Coenen visited Thailand in 2006 he jammed with the wellknown keyboardplayer Mats Olausson (Ark/Yngwie Malmsteen), who was at the time living in Thailand. This jam happened in front of the gig Marcel did at this school in Bangkok called Chandrakasem Rajabhat University.

Met my dear friend Mats at Yngwie gig in the OC, when he first joined, we would hang out back stage, together we would tease Yngwie behind his back laugh and run away. Yngwie being the good sport would laugh at us ❤
Man, Mats had some exotic and speedy licks.
Mats was the most suited keyboard player in Yngwie's band, he will be missed, an excellent musician loved him on the Live At Budokan dvd! Grace & Peace Mats....:)

Mats Olausson was a good musican who I think could deeply connect with the other musicans he played with. He's very missed.

Amazing talent! I saw him perform many times with Yngwie. Unfortunately the last time I met with him I had a puzzled look on my face when he told someone he didn't like Dream Theater and I asked him why? Boy did he get upset! He walked back into the club and told security not to let me in then closed the door. I just left wondering what the hell just happened.
