Hi Dean, It's hard for me to video my own flying! It's still flying great, this is just a plane that I don't fly inverted very well, so I'm avoiding that! For 'normal' flying, including some basic aerobatics, it's great. The last time out I was going vertical, backing off the throttle, then doing a variety of stall turns. Lots of fun!

Why not just use some very small pin hinges in that rudder so you never need worry about the hinge ever again?
Just a thought. I have never trusted those stupid pinch hinges they use on foam airplanes. Seems destined for failure to me. Oh and those wing struts, they do a lot more work then you think they do. They absolutely prevent catastrophic wing separation from the fuse during tight rolls.
Well now atleast you used some CA hinges. Not my choice of hinge because they can be stiff and they break too. I always use the Robert style pin hinges myself but your repair is a good one and should hold up a good long while.

What the hell is greaseless paper? Are you talking about wax paper?I am 49 years old and never heard anyone say greaseless paper before.
I'm still trying to figure out what all that tape was for when you installed those CA hinges. Hell I've never used tape for those before. Never needed it. I guess it gave you something to do tho. Gotta be careful with tape around foaming you will pull the paint right off of them.

Here in Australia you don't see wax paper being used. Greaseless paper is the common term for baking paper. That's something that you can put under a roast with it sitting in a pan when in the oven to keep it from sticking to the pan, etc. And, glue doesn't like to stick to it either! As far as the tape is concerned, you could get by without it, but it helps me to make sure I know where to cut the slots without having to make them bigger than needed. I do use pin hings at times, but I recently lost a SBD Dauntless (made by VQ) most likely due to factory installed pin hinges that were not glued in properly. Of course, any hinge might not be glued in properly, but with the CA hinges I can be more free in applying the glue, not having to worry about getting glue in the pin joint. I have been told that you can apply oil to the pin to avoid that problem, but I haven't tried that yet.

Greaseless paper is used with baking and on BBQs. While 'greaseless paper' is what it is commonly called, on the box it typically says "baking paper." It's a bit like waxed paper, only it has something other than wax on it. Glue doesn't stick to it. Here in Australia you cannot find waxed paper. Since I did the video I've started to use epoxy for the hinges, and I put a drop of oil on the hinge pin to keep glue from sticking to it. With that I haven't had to worry about controlling the glue residue - which is what I was doing with the Gorilla glue, since it expands and foams out onto place where you don't want it.
