Actually there have been a number of tornadoes in Britain and Ireland. In fact in 1091 an F4 hit London! In 1981 there was the largest ever recorded outbreak of tornadoes in Europe when 104 tornadoes set down in Britain in the space of 5 1/2 hrs.

The UK has the most tornadoes per square mile than anywhere else in the World apparently. They’re just not very strong, many go unreported as they hit areas where nobody lives. There does seem to be an increase in tornadoes but i think it’s more to do with everyone having cameras, social media and the fact towns and cities are getting bigger and spreading into the countryside now. Glad everyone in this Irish village are safe. Insurance companies best pay out…people pay them enough.

Uk and Ireland have 30 to 50 every year reported but are weak affairs, I’ve watched 2 forming while sat on a rooftop on a Welsh hilltop doing repairs but they merely faded away. We did a few years ago have one locally that did a comparable amount of damage.
