Glorious Sonata, prize winner of competitions, favourite of many players! Btw, Brahms adored this Romberg Sonata opus 38 in E minor. So he wrote a Cello Sonata opus 38 in E minor too (see: • Brahms Cello Sonata E-... )
* This Romberg Sonata is now part of My CELLO METHOD Volume 4, "Gems from the vast cello repertoire within position 1 - 4" in an arrangement for cello duo (here a recording of the Romberg Sonata arr. for cello Duo - • Romberg Sonata in E mi... ).

How come with most cello videos on youtube, people HAVE to post how old they were when they learned it?? Are you trying to impress someone? Like seriously though, no one cares if you learned it at 8 or if you learned it at 40. The fact remains that you learned a fantastic piece. That's all that should matter.
Marina, I agree so much. I played this Romberg Sonata for the first time, when I was 30. A student gave me the music, It is actually nice to start pieces later, because you understand the music better. When one is little everyone says "nice", when you don't play a mistake. The musical side comes second, because you ARE so young. Cheers G.
I was a week old when I learned this.
im with you on that as well marina
Mar Nagatani As a matter of fact, I was 30 when I played it first, and loved it straightaway. I thought, I wish they invent computers in 10 years and RUclips in 25 years so I can play it on it and show to the the world! cheers G.
"I was in my mother's womb when I played this"
Absolutely beautiful
Now I'm studying it, I wish I could play it a little like you, you're really creative

Very thankful for your post and videos also a beginning cellist
Beautiful !!!
Good job! I'm playing this piece for a high school audition but I can never seem to get the triplets at 62 and the couple measures at 79. Any tips?
Yes, tap the 1/4 beat with your foot, keep it strong and integrate triplets and couples. Always look ahead to the next beat, don't count smaller measures than 1/4.
😍👍
Beautiful!
k my cello teacher gave me the first page of this piece, its till 1:30.. its kind easy tho, I watched this vid to know exactly how to play it, my teacher gave me this piece 2 days ago.. and now im great with it as if I've been playing it for along time (just 3 days practicing YeY ) :)
@MinieSoo10 I'm playing it for my lessons as well. It is beautiful.
vet goed!
every time u want to practice I listen to this video and play as he plays but I'm a lil slower😄
My dear friend, your instructor on style is not good! There is no music without expression except Pop after 1990, when computer snippets replaced humans.
Music without expression is a misconception. Already Corelli fainted from over expressing (by the way, Romberg died just 8 years before Chopin; so your instructor got that wrong too. Beethoven would turn in his grave, would he read your instruction re. his friend Romberg). Best G.
Yolo
how long have you been playing???
@musicalmentepizza Cualquiera puede subir lo que quiera a youtube... tampoco es para tanto. Saludos
@beatle96
All the luck for you!
Keep us on the results.

Anvar Nasriddinov nobody cares
На выпускном в музыкальной школе)
8 people let their mouths listen to it not their ears
When I was 9 I played this
So ?
it doesn't really matter when you learned it.
+Lucinda well it really does, at least cellist do care, becus if u learned when U were young its better than to learn when U are old..😊
Adam Kubecki nobody cares
ZeldaGills1986 some do!!
Playing the right style....forget the expressions in Romberg... This is not Sarasate or Chopin....
