This is the early A90 Body with the 2.6 six cylinder motor. The later ( 1959 model ) A105 which I had , had the longer boot different radiator grille and a more upmarket interior. They were great cars and very popular in their day.
A really beautiful rare car, and the even rarer 1955-6 model with the ' reverse ' boot.A friend had a similar 1956 Vanden-Plas A105, reg.no. PVE 606 back in the 60's.Love the colour scheme and the those lovely wheel trims, you've done a great job- really envious !.
I too collect old cars and restore them. I know with my heart that it takes a tremendous amount of courage to take them on. I wish I had a son to take interest in what I do Regards Nic
My father, from South Australia arrived in the UK around 1954, and purchased a new A55, with a very similar front grille, so I think he got the (perhaps more popular) 4 cylinder variant. As far as I know, he drove it for a good 9 years or so, and sold it. (moved back to Australia with small family in 1963). I have a picture of him with it, as his pride and joy... I don't know what happened to it, but I have the number plate (in the picture) which could help to find out, but alas, most by now are scrapped..
what a great mechanic your dad was !! lovely restoration !!

Nick Jervis, I'm up for adoption if you're interested?

awesome
Beautiful job it is a shame that the lovely lines are ruined by the multitude of badges above the bumper.
That is correct for the period.
This is an A90.
No it's a 105. They were an up market A90. The same body with a better finish to the interior and chrome work.
