Thank you and congrats for the flawless work! I'm a new follower. In my opinion, Freehanding is the best and only way to sculpt a full beard to perfection. By freehanding, we avoid trimming a face-shaped beard. I dislike snapping on a number three or four guard and mowing it down. I love a beard style that complements my face. A word of caution. We need to have steady hands, so we won't jack it up.

Used your fade method that you showed in your taper tutorial for a self cut but had some issues. For reference I use a zero gapped wahl senior. I fade out the skin line fine and then set in the open 1. Then I hit the closed 1 halfway up. But when I come in with the half guard halfway open it doesn't blend the rest of the line out but creates a hard line under the open 1. What could I be doing wrong? I'm not digging the clippers, and don't feel like I'm bringing it up too high but was hoping you could give me some advice.

    • @Seancutshair
