FWIW: A long time ago I had to use a laundry mat on the regular. The owner would give you two free dryer sheets per load, they had free coffee, and free wifi. I used that place exclusively for years. And you know what goes good with free coffee? A nice snack from the vending machine. Also they sold detergent and laundry bags, and I ended up buying those off and on, because I didn't always plan the best. They had some old arcade games too. I didn't use those too much, but they were there.
Don't feel bad I got kicked out of MGM Detroit Casino for finding a $1 token in a slot machine snd spending it back in 2005 before they when to cash slips.

That first place looks a LOT like the one that used to be by my parent's house, same machines, tables, seats... They shut down and it turned into a brewery.

yeah so the tv is shut down when there is no washer/dryer running, to avoid people going there to watch tv and not pay a dime. This place is in a neighboorhood that seems to get crime a lot so its maybe better to keep things under control. Could be a 25cent per 2h, or free when you use the dryer/washer. With the current monitoring it could be done pretty easy.

Im kinda old, im from NJ liquor laws are pretty strict here. But always remembered it, it was so different from NJ. I didn't go in but my friends from that area said that's what it was. It was in Virginia, around Williamsburg.

You & Me Both - the second laundromat deal for my friend fell through as the retiring owners gave a fair price but the greedy children wanted 45% more. I was busted snooping around by the owners' children as I came straight from my office. Alleged customer numbers did not meet expectation nor cashflow & an arranged audit of cashflow was obviously staged. I noted the alleged customers all looked to be from the same family as they were all hugging & kissing when I arrived. The coin boxes were all neatly filled & the change machine only contained $50.00 notes. 1 week later I assessed another laundromat / dry cleaning service & then it was purchased by my friend. Instantly I walked to the corporate office & secured their dry cleaning business - 800+ extra pieces of dry cleaning a week & at roughly $8.00 a piece that is a clear profit.
