Big tip from a beginner as well, keep your hand round, curled and loose. Shake it out!!! I was struggling so much just a second ago, did this and now I got it!!
You are a talented woman, and you communicated this lesson sensationally. Personally, I prefer the open shape for Bm because I tend to play atypical shapes and inverted chords since I enjoy utilizing the entire fretboard. Also, brighter-sounding chord choices match my vocals more appropriately. Capos are for children. Thanks for sharing your wisdom-I am sure many found this video helpful! Keep doing your thing, your way!
I finally just strummed it and it sounded like the real bar chord! It was the "Use the side of your index finger" that I wasn't doing! Thank you! I'll work on the calluses on the side of my index finger and think I will finally get this chord down after a year of trying to play! :D
Thank you for doing an open shape chord!! I have a neurological condition that’s resulted in muscle loss in my hands and I’ve almost given up guitar because I can’t do bars. So I so appreciate it!
This is really helpful, I have small hands and short fingers so it is very hard for me to do the bar chord, I am really glad to know that there are alternatives. :)
I learned Barre chords in just 3 days following your technique and with a lot of practise can't switch but the notes comes clearly out of all strings thank u. love.
You are a literal goddess, thank you so much for the alternative, was starting to get demotivated for bein unable to properly play Bm even as my fingers were getting cut with the continuous practice.
Thank you SO MUCH for telling me to turn my bar finger to the side, because for the life of me I couldn't play a single barre chord because no one taught me that💖
I am a beginner, i am also with the struggling team (I was getting pain in my bicep area somehow) but advice I got worked for me is that- • Keep your circled (Rounded) •If feels okay try to face your fingernails towards your face •THUMB AGAINST THE INDEX FINGER (Worked for my bicep pain)
Finally found it Bm....tutorial but everytime when i watch you're vedio,it looks so easy for Ex. Like despacito tutorial I have watched that tutorial so many times like 1000times 😄but when i really practice it's so difficult for me😁😄 Maybe i just need more time to practice
Just keep practicing once u play for a little while you can hit bar cords like they’re nothing, I used to have slot of trouble with them to and I’be been playing for maybe 3-4 months
Thank you so much for the great tutorial. I was struggeling so much before. now its much better. still some work to do, but i see hope with barre chords
Thank you so much for the help I have been so scared to play Bm chords and have struggled with it off and on for about 6 months now, but I finally was able to play it now time to build the muscle memory for it 😅
@@GuitarGoddess woah was not expecting a response I just hope you read it and it boosted you through your day thank you for taking the time to read it!

Ill be honest, I was never really into alot of chord theory or strumming I went straight to metal and rock stuff and scales, its only now that Im experimenting with chords, I was just messing around with barring and fretting and I played the bar variation of this but on the first fret, Then I went and looked around to find out what it is because Idfk chord names lmao, and well here we are
My one tip for beginners would be if you are trying to learn the Bm barre chord or any barre chords. Start by learning further up the neck and slowly work your way up
Thanks for showing both. I like them both, and use them both. To me it depends on where it is in the song I'm playing and if I want a lite Bm or a richer tone. A (Lite) Bm. Oops. I didn't mean it like that.
Which Bm shape do you like better - barre or open?
barre for sure and actually I find it easier
I like barre better 🙃
Of course the barred version. It sounds more good
Barre is my fav, especially for Bmin7!

Bro one of my favorite songs from my youth “Vivir sin aire” by Maná is totally easy to learn...except for this EFFING CHORD 😂
I self-taught myself to play the guitar 11 years ago. I finally gave up and decided to find an easier way to play this hell-sent chord.
peroh she said she tried 11 years ago, not playing 11 years
@Legend you can you just won't learn how to play a barre chord for 11 years
@Legend umm yeh you can, most of the things ive learned were self taught too
@Legend actually do you even know the meaning of self taught?
@peroh did you even understand her statement or you just go ahead and proceed with your hate comment?

Same here! And on a classic guitar, even harder! I finally have an option!
If you do the drop D or dropit down E you really will keep played much more
@@judriki5516 the classic guitar with nylon string is a lot easier when u start playing
When you drop eaten or d a d g a d makes the strings much slinky easier to push down
