❤ This was a special treat ❤ We've watched Tom and Nancy from the get-go. It warms our hearts and souls to hear of their journey through life. Thanks guys for giving us "ALL" this gift ❤
First of all I like to thank Chip and Jo for not being available this week. Second, you guys are finding interesting folks to have a sit down with 😊 I’m glad y’all are stepping out of just RUclipsrs. It’s a great reminder to all who are living thru the screen. Get out there and live the life you were meant to live at any age. Take care
I'm sorry but no way Joanna and Chip can beat out these two's conversation! Oh my, life to the fullest is all I see there, their love, their knowledge...I have been under a rock
Wow, what an honor, to get the opportunity to meet and talk to this amazing couple. Tom and Nancy have been my favorite people of that show since the first episode. They are just so interesting. I could sit and listen to Tom as long as he'd let me. I'd love to learn from him even more. I'm going to have to watch more of your channel. I hope you consider a few follow up episodes with the Orrs. What a treasure they are. Thank you for sharing your time with them. Be well.
Thank you for the great conversation with Tom and Nancy, My sister and her husband have been living in a cabin in St. Maries ID since 1980. She is 72 and he is 78. They walk into town (6 mi) for groceries and chop their wood, and have an outhouse. I couldn't live there one day but they love it.
Wow, what an amazing interview. Nancy is a gem. Tom watching her adoringly as she answered and shared different viewpoints was so so cute. What an amazing couple. You two knocked it out of the park with this interview, nice job!!
I loved watching Tom and Nancy when we had tv. We haven’t had tv in 5 years now. They were a big influence on my husband and I when we were thinking of moving to the mountains. We made the jump and are loving it. Have a great day.
Beautiful people. They represent the best of this country. My biggest fear is the extinction of these kind of people within the next couple of generations.
Great interview. Thank you Tom and Nancy. What a pleasure Melissa and Jeremy dont be afraid to invite them to your home. A little change is always nice and something tells me the kids would love them as they would your kids.
God gave your family such talent. I know people who are fearless in the way the two of you are to meet others. You’ve given us such a blessing by having my two favorite people on your channel.
❤ loved this episode. Have enjoyed watching the Oar’s for years. Can’t believe the projects and trapping they have done at their age. Thanks for having them on your Podcast.
OMG! I’m so lucky to have been able to listen in on this special conversation with Tom and Nancy. I’ve watched them for years. Thank you so much for going to them in their place for this blog. I’m Toms age and I have been so inspired by him. Thanks again for this video.
Been watching Mountain men since day one- Tom & Nancy & Rich Lewis have always been my favorites! Have been watching GSL for awhile now - great stuff! Thanks
They are such down to earth genuine folks. The worlds losing this rustic touch. I’m 42 and just getting ready to close a deal on a place I’m buyin in the country here in Ohio. I’m looking forward to starting a new life there and getting back to the basics. This was encouraging
Yes, water is gold. As a child in the 1960's on the plains in Eastern Colorado, our family was barely hammering out a living by farming and ranching and the droughts almost dried up our well water - only water for livestock, the garden and one bath a week for all six in the family. I learned to conserve on water which is still with me. My folks made hard work rather enjoyable - there was always something to be doing and that also still holds for today... Idle hands are the playground of the devil! A prairie flower that still blooms here on the sagebrush sea of Eastern Colorado 😅
This was a fun interview! We often say our oldest two kids were born in the wrong century. Our daughter’s 9th birthday party was pioneer themed and we churned butter. She is now married and a Mom, and still straddles the old ways and modern ways. Our oldest son (23 years old) trapped for many years. He still spends most of his time in the mountains. He doesn’t trap much anymore due to fur prices :( We currently have two deer to process, which we do ourselves. We still live “in the city”, so you can imagine how much our neighbors love us lol
Oh wow, what a treat with Nancy & Tom Oar !!!! Oh my goodness, I can remember my Granpa talking about the “Wild West Show.” Loved the stories he told. Thanks for having these folks on. Great choice. Have always enjoyed watching their show, Mountain Men.
Enjoyed this conversation. I live looking at our ocean view everyday. I see the beauty of Diamonhead, the power of Pearl Harbor, the fishermen and oil tankers and just the beauty of the ocean. I love when the sun comes up and the night lights go off. The 2 mountain ranges and the rainbows. Tom and Nancy are an amazing couple.
What a wonderful couple Tom & Nancy . Watched mountain man first time it came on for a long time but then time got away from me . Lost my Dad , Mom & husband . So glad to see them doing well & they look great. Thank you for coming on the podcast.
That was so enjoyable to watch and listen to. Just ordinary hard working people doing what they love to do each day. How many of us do that in our life? There is a whole lot of Life's lessons that We can learn in that hour of conversation! That's a podcast that i'm going to listen to, Two or three times. Thank you so much for bringing us along.
My 94 year old mother has watched Tom and Nancy since their first episode. She said the way they live reminded her of how everyone lived in the early days. ❤
Hey, I've seen this couple on Mountain Men. They're great. I think Tom is so talented and has the greatest skill in trapping and then taking care of the skins and furs of animals to sell them for money that is needed for them. I really appreciated this discussion and I was very surprised that you were interviewing them on your own channel. Simply amazing. Thanks.
Oh my goodness. I love watching Tom and Nancy. My son and I got addicted to Mountain Man , especially Tom and Nancy. And Eustice from my neck of the woods in NC. I'm so impressed with this interview.
I had tears streaming down my cheeks after watching this interview. The kindness, gentleness, and the humility of Tom and Nancy was so refreshing. Tom’s gentle soul just fills me with a sense of calm and happiness. 2 summers ago, I was in Troy and had no idea I was so close to the Trading Post.🤦♀️ I’m hoping to get back out to Northern Idaho this summer, so another little drive to Troy might be on the itinerary!❤️
Can't say I've ever watched Mountain Men here in the UK but will definitely look out for it in the future - what wonderful people. Thank you Tom and Nancy for having me in your home. What joy to be a part of this. Thank you GSL for reaching out to them x
An awesome production of adventures n history! Great time of sharing!I learned a couple of very helpful tips n techniques to build better arrows from watching a couple of his " archery how to's "!! Awesome!!!! A hero in my eyes..and A leader of life!! Thanks! 👍🦊🧙♂️🐺👍!!!
As a kid living on a very rural farm in the 60's, we had no TV living way out in the country. When our parents would visit another farm family, we would take our GI Joe or other toys and sit on the kitchen floor and listen to our parents talk about life, memories, and the world as they saw it. It was wonderful. Listening to your podcast is like the way it was--oh so very good! A wonderful conversation to share!
another excellent conversation. You are keeping me young and believe me at 76 that is a feat in and of it's self. Interesting to see how truly mind expanding simple living really is. It does indeed get harder as you age but the fact of being grateful certainly makes it easier. It was a lesson my mother left me. In her last year as illness took away freedom of movement she managed to let her mind take her to all those gifts of God from her passed I often go to check on her and find her with a smile on her face and when asked what had given her the smile she said she had just visited in her mind a trip to the beach, a walk in the woods, Christmas when we were all small. She had an amazing way of keeping the joy in her life. The wars, Depression, lost jobs, hard finncial time, and loss her sight and loved ones never seemed win she always was grateful for what life had given her. Memory Eternal Thank you again for cheering my life up and giving joy. May you be blessed and God grant you many years.
Love them and their life experiences and advice, especially Nancy's words about not doing something when your heart feels things not right. Making wise choice is the foundation of a good life. A good life may not be an easy one, but it is a good life. Thank you for a good hour of listening to good stories of good lives.
I felt like I was sitting at the table with you guys. It was such a nice, relaxing visit with some very admirable people. Tom and Nancy's free spitited, adventureous approach to life epitomizes their generation, one I was 10 years behind, but have tried to emulate my entire life. Thank you for bringig Tom and Nancy's wonderful story to us, Melissa and Jeremy! xo
As usual, you guys did not disappoint. Not only do I love, "The Mountain Man", but the Orrs are my favorite of the show. Another podcast we'll done and I can't wait for your next one or your Saturday RUclips video. ❤
I immediately felt like I could enjoy Tom and Nancy's company. They seem to be very pleasant, interesting and normal people. Thank you so much for sharing this interview with us. I admire what you and your family have achieved as well.
What a terrific story and way of life. They are so contented with their life style and each other. They have good lessons. I bet Eli is watering at his mouth. lol Thanks again
Oh my goodness! I love Tom and Nancy Oar! They are my favorite on Mountain Men! Such a great couple and so knowledgeable! Y'all knocked it out of the ball park with this one!! Awesome podcast show, one of my favorites!! Great job!!
Thanks Jeremy and Melissa for sharing your time with two Fantastic Folks with History . Thanks Tom and Nancy for sharing your life history with us. May you all stay safe and be able to stay in your home forever. Fred.
Thank you so much for this episode, i had been wondering about Tom and Nancy, if they were still alive and what they were doing. I have been watching them for years and lost track of them last year. They look absolutely wonderful.
So happy to watch and listen to this interview….I’ve been watching Tom and his wife for years.I live in a city in BC while growing up in the backwoods of northern Ontario Canada, I live those days gone by they are talking about….I watch them to relive those days as why I watch tour family as well to never forget th simpler days of nature and only hearing nature…ty
ABSOLUTELY STELLAR episode! Tom & Nancy are definitely people that resonate with my way of thinking. I love the episodes where Tom is teaching Sean McAfee's son (don't recall his name). So awesome...
What a nice episode.....but the all are in their own way. I live in Morgantown, WV one block off the main street and easy walking distance to the Mountaineer Stadium. My parents bought 5 acres of the old Koontz Farm in 1937 with the house and barn. Daddy planted trees.....did I mention he planted trees??? I not only mow, but cut branches and remove a lot of leaves. But I could identify with the show today. Although I could walk to a grocery store, when I come up the driveway it is another world. I am a retired botanist (plant taxonomist) and this suits me. Each spring, I love to walk around and visit the wildflowers that daddy and my 2 older brothers brought in and later daddy and I transplanted.. I walk for 2 miles around the neighborhood each morning ca. 5:00...it is my prayer time in the dark with little traffic. Night is quiet. I live a bit of country in the city.
Tom & Nancy Oar are national treasures. I have enjoyed watching them on “Mountain Men” from the start. Thanks for sharing them on your podcast. Moving from the big city to my own little North Idaho forest was the most healing thing I ever did after my LE career.
I got 1st LIKE! I couldn't wait for this interview. Huge fan of the Oar's. So happy you two were able to do this interview and meet them. Tom is one of those guys I call one of my heroes ❤
I an in my early 70's. I admire how they became modern pioneers by choice. Not sure if I could have done that even though I love the idea of it all. Even the what you have done moving to the mountains building your own home, I truly admire that as well. Here in the city I try to listen for & see those tell tales signs that something is a foot. Here the sounds are not my heartbeat, but the gunshots, or sounds of falling leaves or seed pods, depending on the season, on my roof. Anyhow, I love the idea of the lifestyle you and your guest chose to live.
This is the best interview yet. It took me back to my people that I grew up around and learned so much about life. For instance my Aunt got her fist in house toilette when she was 94 back in 2001. They had no running water in the house before then. OMG the stories they would tell came back to me watching this interview. God bless Tom and Nancy. Real people , Real Americans.
LOVE WATCHING THIS TO HEAR THE BACK STORIES OF MR AND MRS OAR, I WATCH THE MOUNTAIN MEN WHEN ITS ON THIS IS VERY INTERESTING TO HEAR THIS THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS ON YOUR POD CAST
That is the only thing I miss about TV, I loved watching "Mountain Men," mainly Nancy and Tom Oar. I loved watching Tom pass on his skills, knowledge, and experience to his neighbor and the little boy. Nancy has such a talent with sewing, making beautiful clothing out of hides, and the detail in her beading is always so perfect. I hope those skills and crafts will be passed on for generations and never get lost. I feel there will be a time when they will be needed again. As a young girl, I dreamed of living a life like theirs. Oh how I miss watching them. I am halfway through watching the video and can't take my eyes off the "Hawaiian" Jeremy, is wearing a T-shirt, while all the others are bundled up wearing layers. LOL!!! Jeremy has really gotten acclimated to the colder weather!
What a wonderful episode with Nancy and Tom. Also made me wonder about Tom’s brother Jack and there he was in the background. So glad they have lived the life they made and are happy. I am 71 and live in Boise and look back on the good and not so good times of my life. Tom and Nancy are right about finding happiness in making the life you dream about. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. It made my day. Ray in Boise
You really get a peacefulness when you actually look up instead of down. Look up...see the sky...listen to the little noises around you that the birds or squirrels are making. It's all there for each of us to enjoy. Keep that in your heart. Loved this interview and love how they are spreading the idea of the lifestyle of yesterday. Yesterday is now my today:)
Loved! Loved! ❤❤❤ So great to hear Nancy speak and be so open and uplifting. Tom and her have always been my favorite on the show, and I always wished to hear more from her. Both are truly amazing people. It was an amazing interview.
That was a very good podcast. I have been watching Mointain men since the beginning of the show and I like both Tom and Nancy, they are so inspiring people.
What a great couple to interview!!!!! Tom and Nancy are my favorite people on Mountain Men!!!!! What a talented couple they are. Thank you so much for the interview and for all you do!!!!! AWESOME!!!!
What a great episode! Very authentic and wholesome conversation. You guys are doing so well with this pod. Keep up the good work and thank you for giving folks a chance to tell their stories 😊
I absolutely love Tom and Nancy. You can’t help but look and listen to learn that these two are genuine people. His is the way I grew up. I hope some day to make it to Montana.
Hi guys,I must say this is the best ever chat you’ve done I really did enjoy watching this my family and I love Tom & Nancy thank you to all from all of our family here in the uk.🥰💕💖💕🥰
Love, love, love! ❤ This interview did not disappoint! I was thrilled hearing Nancy’s views as she is the more quiet one on the show. Those two fit together like hand in glove. Very inspirational.
The simple, down to earth life values shared here are priceless treasures so many in this generation have no reference for. This episode puts skin on the phrases 'stop and smell the roses' and 'bloom where you are planted'. What an inspiration both couples are!!!!!
I love this podcast so much, Tom and Nancy, have lived life to the full I could sit down and never tire of listening to the stories of their journey through life. Thank you Jeremy and Melissa for this podcast, I'm sure I will watch it again💖
Oh my goodness 😳 Tom & Nancy in person!! Watching Mnt Men was the highlight of my week. In my younger years, 75 now, I could have lived as they did & do but you have to have a partner who shares those same ideals. Sadly I didn’t. I got my fix thru Mnt Men , all the characters, & Tom & Nancy were my fav💖 Thank all of you for sharing this time with us . An utmost pleasure. 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
This interview is awesome !! Chip and Joanna are going to wish they had scheduled their interview before Tom and Nancy.
I love Tom and Nancy, what amazing people. Well done!!!

This is absolutely the best ever!!! Thanks to Tom and Nancy, but also to GSL for bringing this to all of us who wish we could spend a day with them!!!
Wow, what an honor, to get the opportunity to meet and talk to this amazing couple. Tom and Nancy have been my favorite people of that show since the first episode. They are just so interesting.
A wonderful couple Nancy & Tom. What a life they have had and still having. Thank you for this video.

Never will be instinctive 😮
Next couple? More like the present generation
Great interview. Thank you Tom and Nancy. What a pleasure Melissa and Jeremy dont be afraid to invite them to your home. A little change is always nice and something tells me the kids would love them as they would your kids.
My grandpa trapped animals for their hides. Watching Tom always gives me a sense of spending time with my grandpa. Whom I loved very much.
God gave your family such talent. I know people who are fearless in the way the two of you are to meet others. You’ve given us such a blessing by having my two favorite people on your channel.

I was sooo happy to see who y'all were interviewing I love those two ! They both have such great attitudes and never seem to complain much.😊
What a delightful couple. It is encouraging to see other people that enjoy that way of life. Never easy but so fulfilling.
I would love to spend just a day with Tom and Nancy, to learn about life in general. Thank you for giving us all a small look into their lives.
I hear a new theme for a T-shirt... "An Attitude of Gratitude". Love it!
They are such down to earth genuine folks. The worlds losing this rustic touch. I’m 42 and just getting ready to close a deal on a place I’m buyin in the country here in Ohio. I’m looking forward to starting a new life there and getting back to the basics. This was encouraging

Our oldest son (23 years old) trapped for many years. He still spends most of his time in the mountains. He doesn’t trap much anymore due to fur prices :( We currently have two deer to process, which we do ourselves.

Love Tom and Nancy's insight to life and living. Thank you Melissa and Jeremy for this inspirational podcast.

Glad you enjoyed it
LOVED listening to this wonderful couple! Thank you!!!
This was the best interview I have ever heard. Can't wait for the next one
I just love Tom and Nancy, they are very talented.
Yet another brilliant interview. You are both real naturals at interviewing people and you pick some really fascinating interviewees. Thank you again.

This is my favorite couple ever. I watch every episode of mountain men and look forward to Nancy and Tom. Hugs
Love, love, love! ❤ This interview did not disappoint! I was thrilled hearing Nancy’s views as she is the more quiet one on the show. Those two fit together like hand in glove. Very inspirational.
Awesome interview. Tom and Nancy are amazing. They are my favorites on Mountain Men.
Thanks for listening
Oh my goodness 😳 Tom & Nancy in person!! Watching Mnt Men was the highlight of my week. In my younger years, 75 now, I could have lived as they did & do but you have to have a partner who shares those same ideals. Sadly I didn’t. I got my fix thru Mnt Men , all the characters, & Tom & Nancy were my fav💖
Thank all of you for sharing this time with us . An utmost pleasure. 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
