Southgate is the problem. You could play messi and he would soon be passing backwards. The players we have, we should be ripping up lesser opponents. It’s so so boring watching England, sick of it
Well if Gareth didn’t have to listen to the nonsense in the media, we’d still have Hendo in the team. Still can’t believe he’s not made the squad. It’s huge blow for us, and I just hope we can pull together and get some leadership going in his absence. I don’t really see Kane or Maguire as talkers, so that’s where we need a top player like Hendo to come in and organise everyone. Oh well, let’s just hope the midfield doesn’t crumble! Even Kalvin has been omitted, and Gareth knows that he’s another top player that can be relied upon. Yeah, so I’m not best impressed by this England squad. I have to say that it will be semi finals again.
England always lose tournaments because they can't control & dictate the tempo in midfield. They've always produced good attacking players and excellent defenders. It will be the same this year imo. Rice isn't a technical baller and neither is Bellingham. Bellingham is dynamic and aggressive but he's not gonna control a midfield. His game is supporting the attack, like a Steven Gerrard. All the technical players like Foden and Palmer are attacking players. Mainoo is technical but he's arguably too young and they won't drop one of Saka, Bellingham, Palmer, Foden.
@@kemuse1Bellingham doesn't control the midfield. He's the type of player who gets forward and gets on the end of things. England don't have a Modric or a Kroos who can dictate the tempo of the game.
Think Ince is being abit harsh. Mainoo is good enough to start but I do agree with one of his points which was Mainoo recovery runs. Not sure if its fatigue as a youngster in a team that so wide open defensive or that Mainoo lacks the engine to cover or get back. His style is very smooth and is very efficient with his passing, he has the physicality to be a good ball winner and has shown it. But the role England would want from him, he would need to have great discipline, physicality and have the athleticism to get around the pitch. Mainoo has struggled in that aspect when the team loses the ball, he can be caught so high up the pitch and doesn't have the athleticism + engine to get back. Mainoo is more of a box to box with qualities of a deeplying playmaker. The issue is Bellingham + Foden already offer that in this team & purpose of adding him is for the balance of attacking qualities and defensive qualities. His first start v Belgium, Mainoo played great but the team was exposed on the counter whenever he pushed up & vacated the space. He left Rice exposed defensively on the counter. Mainoo was picking up the ball from right wing position, AM position and wasn't very disciplined. Mainoo was great in possesion and England looked threatening and he helped alot to start the attacks. Is England willing to give up defensive solidity for potential improved attacking build up, cause thats the trade off with Mainoo as of right now.
Any player would struggle to recover given the space between UTDs midfield and defence. It’s common sense, when they changed the system against Arsenal and kept it and used it against City, he was never caught out, he was always there to defend and receive the ball
with this squad England have already loss in quarter final. Club form doesn't matter. its about ability to create things. Palmer, Foden, Bowen and Saka come small in big games.
Whats you reluctance with Mainoo? He's jealous he was never that good. Also, Mainoo is better than Trent defensively, he may not be as mobile but that team is already mobile enough to cover the weakness.
Trent is not the answer in midfield. Mainoo and Wharton are both ahead of him. Why would you play a right back in midfield when there are 2 natural central midfielders who can both play there really well. That would be typical England trying to get all their “best” players in the starting line up without a thought for what’s best for the team.
@@bald_phoenixTrent also gets progressed past more than any other defender in the league, given that, why would you play him in midfield when 1. He’s not played there consistently 2. His defensive awareness is awful 3. Mainoo and Wharton are actually midfielders and good defensively, Mainoo being a good ball carrier
@@bald_phoenix Balls from deep that nobody else can still doesn’t put him ahead of those 2 for me. I stand by my comment, I don’t want any shoehorning in of players just because they have ability. Play the best most balanced team, With midfielders in midfield.
I am sorry that I am gonna say this and no disrespect to mainoo, but I think a lot of u guys really overhype him. Yes he has had a good season, but it's not anywhere near of an outstanding thing like rice or Bellingham I am sorry. I get that trent lacks more defensive abilities but than I am open for other options is midfield but for me the question is "what has mainoo shown?". You really think if he were French or German he would make the selection oft their national squad? He has played in a bad united side that got kicked outside UCL really quickly and finished very low in the league. Trent has played major competitions in the past years and has more experience for big games. I know experience is not everything and you also have to check the form of a player, but there is nothing to say there as well, cause he played good this season when he wasn't injured and on Monday he played really well.
@@TechNology-hr7gt I’m a spurs fan (unfortunately) so I’m mostly unbiased on this one, but, when I’ve seen Mainoo play F.A cup final included I’ve been hugely impressed with his ability and temperament and I think he’d be a fine option though I’d agree perhaps a bit early and unproven but good players all start somewhere. Wharton same really, but my point stands I’d rather have a midfielder play in midfield. We’ll see who starts tomorrow but when Wharton came on the pitch Monday England improved straight away. I’m not anti-Trent btw I think he’s exceptional and maybe there’s a call for him to play at right back and move into midfield as a full back, but I don’t think he’s the answer as a starting midfielder, especially against the better teams.

Paul Ince, you know Alan Shearer he was bang out of form... in the league.... That season he scored 37 /48 games and then following season 28 /40 what the hell is Ince on about. I think he means he was out of form in international games. I think Ince has a bias for Rashford. I think Rashford is a good player but not England level and if anyone Grealish is the next player to bring in.
Man City and Liverpool are better than 98% of teams England will face in Euro and Maino played brilliantly with confidence against them. So I don’t understand this he is young and inexperienced comments.
I grew up idolizing Ince's tenacity and ball IQ and he is destroying those sentiments with his rather salty attitude towards United as a whole..I mean everytime this guy opens his mouth about the club, it seems to carry a very negative tone without any proper bias or balance...what a shame 😮
Ince, if it was you at that age you’d back yourself. He’s definitely good enough, therefore he’s old enough. As for Rashford he’s not performed this season.
Southgate is English football's weakest link. He is more like a politician than a football manager and likes to please the media is far more concerned about things like 'diversity and inclusion' than winning. Mainoo has got a few headlines recently and ticks the right boxes so he has been chosen for the squad despite being inexperienced and totally unprepared for a major international competition.
Maino has had 3 or 4 good performances and hes also had 3 or 4 horrendous performances. The rest mediocre at best. He shouldnt be anywhere near the england team.

Decent?????....have you actually watched him!
@@davidgevans8932 Well I saw him chasing Wharton's shadow when we won 4-0 does that count? He couldn't get near him😅
@@lawrenceparker969 I saw Kyle Walker get owned plenty times this season and people still put him in the team of the year...
@@lawrenceparker969 welll I saw him boss City in the cup final!!
@@davidgevans8932 Wharton is twice the player Mainoo is. As you will see. Mainoo is just overhyped because he's man u (same as rashford).
Luke shaw is there. Am speechless
There is no other left back alternative. Him and Joe Gomes are the only 2
* I’m
Are all nations taking 4 goalkeepers? If we only took 3, which is surely plenty, could have taken Rashford anyway. Surely Rashford over Henderson or Trafford is better for squad depth
Mainoo will plwy for England but id not be starting him with the players weve got yet. Next world cup probably....
Bellingham is incredibly technically gifted.
@@kemuse1Bellingham doesn't control the midfield. He's the type of player who gets forward and gets on the end of things. England don't have a Modric or a Kroos who can dictate the tempo of the game.
@@barryosullivan1486 He bosses the midfield - you need to watch Madrid more. His passing game is superb.
Wharton can be that player.
So we need Trent in Midfield then😮
Think Ince is being abit harsh.
Rice, Gallagher and Bellingham in the 10 is the best balanced midfield.
with this squad England have already loss in quarter final.
Paul Ince, Gerrard, Lampard and Roy Keane were amazing players but are terrible coaches and talent evaluators.
Gordon,Foden and nine others.
ince and scholes are wrong about mainoo. he will win the eros for england with a massive goal in the final
Absolutely not. Trent can play balls from deep that no one else can do.
@@bald_phoenixTrent also gets progressed past more than any other defender in the league, given that, why would you play him in midfield when
1. He’s not played there consistently
2. His defensive awareness is awful
Play the best most balanced team,
With midfielders in midfield.
I’m not anti-Trent btw I think he’s exceptional and maybe there’s a call for him to play at right back and move into midfield as a full back, but I don’t think he’s the answer as a starting midfielder, especially against the better teams.
ince probably feels there are more experienced players who deserve the chance than the kid. maddison is 27 peak years and most likely to be dropped. shearer was 26 in 1996.for me lewis dunk being picked at 32 past peak years is a trevesty over tamori.
What the hell did I just listen to? Rice was playing more attacking than defending? Also Mainoo is not a DM he is an 8 really.
Totally agree Mainoo is an unknown quality as of now we have proven players who deserve to go before him
Man City and Liverpool are better than 98% of teams England will face in Euro and Maino played brilliantly with confidence against them. So I don’t understand this he is young and inexperienced comments.
Rashford hasnt been able to get past players or finish. He shouldnt be in the squad. Its clear to anyone.
If pep hadn't ruined both of England's best midfield youth talents we could have been looking at the english iniesta and xavi in foden and palmer.
Eh😂😂
If he cant see the talent in Mainoo then he shouldnt be paid to give an opinion Mainoo is going to be a worldie!
Wharton holding midfield , rice then can play the role he does for arsenal
I grew up idolizing Ince's tenacity and ball IQ and he is destroying those sentiments with his rather salty attitude towards United as a whole..I mean everytime this guy opens his mouth about the club, it seems to carry a very negative tone without any proper bias or balance...what a shame 😮
I wish Philip Seymour Hoffman was still around because he'd do a mean Adrian Durham
Imagine having to follow southgates managerial talks...
Nah me neither
Connor Gallagher will play and not even a mention 😂
Foden shouldn't start! This is not (perfect system) Man City. Foden will struggle and get benched just like the last tournament.
all this talk of mainoo when it'll be gallagher who stands next to rice
Ince, if it was you at that age you’d back yourself. He’s definitely good enough, therefore he’s old enough. As for Rashford he’s not performed this season.
“Germany a tournament team” 😂😂😂
He's definitely not the ansswer ... but who else we got?
For me, Adam Wharton is a better player than Mainoo.
😢😢😢 Boo Hoo Hoo
People are saying Mainoo isnt the best player ever 😢😢😢
What the f has he done ? Had 3 good games all season
Ince was twice the player
Dunk, Mainoo, Saka, Ivan Toney, Bowen and Watkins Should not be in the squad!
Oh Konsa too!
Dumb
Southgate is English football's weakest link. He is more like a politician than a football manager and likes to please the media is far more concerned about things like 'diversity and inclusion' than winning. Mainoo has got a few headlines recently and ticks the right boxes so he has been chosen for the squad despite being inexperienced and totally unprepared for a major international competition.
the formation won't be 4-3-3, it'll be 4-2-3-1
Maino has had 3 or 4 good performances and hes also had 3 or 4 horrendous performances. The rest mediocre at best. He shouldnt be anywhere near the england team.
England fans: "we're going to win it" lmao. They're as clueless as Southgate.
😂😂. You'll be lucky to make QFs.
Ince is bitter 😂😂😂 Here you have a 19 year old that has made the world's best team and manager of last year look lost , threading passes forward and having penetrative shots on goal 😂😂😂😂. Ince is bitter. Kevin DeBryner was a shadow of himself against the world's best 19 year old midfielder
All u need to know is Gareth Southgate AINT the Answer. Tosh
Shearer scored 31 league goals in 95. Bang out form muhaha.
Was that 95/96 season?
@@kaymatt1757 Yes
Mainoo can do it but people too much on his and cole palmer's shoulders.
Chilwells omission was the one that surprised me, i know hes been a bit rubbish but still
True!
Mainoo is our best midfielder - what is Ince talking about
sterling 10 am gonna miss in the ueros
None of them are the answer.
If the English team wants to win this tournament they will play the trailed and tested team, none of these so-called young prospects, but knowing the English fans their sentimentality will kill football logic .
England should be in a 4-3-3.
With Bellingham, Rice and Mainoo.
Up front Foden, Kane, Saka.
Mainoo has been great. Madness can't be talked about even slightly negatively. Just say you hate United Incey.
Rashford has been awful, as a united fan a was so pleased that he wasn’t picked.
“Mainoo is not the answer”… that aged well eh incey?
The disrespect of mainoo, have they not watched the boy? Magic passes and scoring ability. Paul ince with his usual bullsh!t intakes, stay away from football.
Neither is your opinion Paul 😊
Mainoo is a fantastic talent. But out of position continiously.
Always find it funny how players that never never won anything with England like to talk about what it might take to win something with England 😂 Also add in the fact that any teams he’s ever managed has been awful… why would anyone listen to Paul Ince
It’s just hate and jealousy at this point….. Just controlled the best midfield in the world in a cup final not mentioning his Liverpool performances. Then mentioned Trent who can’t defend in midfield ffs who had a stinker against Madrid in a final .
Trent is a much better player than Mainoo.
Theres no escaping that. 🤷♂️
how many ucl finals did mainoo play?
@@lostliberty9913trents not a midfielder. He gets bullied off a ball, weak physically and in a tackle. You don't get all day to pick a pass im midfield.
Ince need to shut up. Mainoo plays for arguably the mist covered sports team in the world in a very disorienting squad and was superb and you just hear this old geezer chatting rubbish 😅
They'll look even more clueless when Wharton gets picked.
Wharton looked good when played last week.
It is embarrassing how these ‘pundits’ haven’t got a clue. Paul Ince saying Shearer was bang out of form for his club going into Euro 96 🤦🏼♂️ total rubbish, he hadn’t scored for England for a few games but he was bang in form for his club, he’d just scored 31 goals in 35 games for Blackburn (his 3rd 30 goal season on the trot)!
At least Shearer won a trophy. How many has Kane won? Please remind us. 😂
Selfishly, i hope mainoo doesn't get picked and is fresh for the next season 😂
