I once had a pen pal mail me a couple quilted fabric coasters she made. It was so lovely and unexpected. I love to craft and I do a little bit of sewing, but quilting is not an area where I excel. So I really admire those who have the precision and talent, and I've used those coasters for years and think about her often, even though we lost touch. I also have made bookmarks for friends with little fabric swatches on the front so that they can see what fabrics and colors I'm using to decorate my home. ♥️
it should be noted that some countries don't accept certain items in mail, like seeds, tea, etc I appreciate the last "tip" and the emphasis that these are optional. I've had penpals who kept apologizing because they couldn't add more extras, or they feel they're not creative enough. I feel bad for them, because it should be an enjoyable experience, not something that causes them stress or anxiety. So I always tell them that it's okay, and that as I've said in my penpal search post, I'm more looking forward to the letters they write because really, that's the point of having a penpal.
Totally agree! Some of my penpals send me tea but I don't send tea in my letters because it can cause me trouble... The extras are called extras for that reason! I appreciate everything but the letter and the connection between me and my penpals are the most important thing 😌
Yes! But I've had to turn down some potential pals because their expectations were so high! Twice weekly (or more!) letters, page counts, font styles, tuck-in requirements. It felt like writing to the IRS! 😅 Thank you for being a good friend who is in it for the right reasons. 💌

For star beads or confetti, Is it a good idea to cut up some scrap coloured paper as confetti? And for the envelope, if you don’t have anything in mind, you could always do a grid on the envelope!

Are we sure that adding twine around the envelope is a good idea? The machines used to sort letters are FAST, and twine could make it get jammed, damaging not only the letter but the post machine!
well I add the addresses to the top and bottom corners and then I go to the post office and I pay a fee to send them, I don't use the mail things on the street! Idk if this helped!

For penpalling and to print my oen stickers it's pretty nice! The quality is not perfect, but it does the job, and it was affordable so I am pretty happy with it!

I think they are called star beads, but I'm not sure because my dollar store has rhe labels in portuguese. They can also be star glitters or mini star jars idk 🤷🏻♀️

No offense to the channel or ideas. Thank you for that but do not put those glitters and stars cos they cannot be reused on most occasion and it ends up in water. Plastic is really not good for nature
One thing I don't use anymore is glitter, that can definitely not be reused. The star beads can, and I also use them to decorate spreads and the envelopes, so even though is plastic it's not going to waste!

I put my address (the sender) on the top left corner and my penpal's on the bottom left corner because that's how we do in Portugal!

I always put the pretty letter inside a white big envelope so the twine will be protected by an envelope when going through the process / machine!

i use paper scraps, origami paper (that you can find on Amazon or at a craft store), or just thick paper!
