Thank you -- this video is what I needed tonight. Wanted to talk to my old friend. I know the next step in my healing is to find a new close friend -- I'm still feeling guarded.

I'm so happy to hear that this video was what you needed. I'm sorry you've had to go through such a painful experience and are feeling guarded because of it. That is a normal reaction to such pain. Remember that you don't have to jump in deep right away; you can take it one small step at a time. Assessing whether any anxiety that comes up is accurate discernment of the new friend's character or a personal trigger because of your past. You got this 💪💜 I wish you the best! 💜

Wow..."more painful than death because they chose to live life without you"....that is so deep and true...I agree that the sudden cutting off is one of the worst feelings ever. I cannot stand the idea of being "ghosted"...but you are right that there may be more that is going on. Does not excuse..but helps us gain perspective...This was a great letter, Anna. It is beautiful to witness you share your pain and how you processed it in a way to help advise others who are willing to hear. There is indeed a difference between guarding your heart, and hardening it. I hope more people see this! Thank you again for sharing it!

Exactly! And these are all things I have to constantly remind myself. The lessons in this video were/are so fresh.
      Aww thank you, friend 😊💜

Thank you for this. I am in so much pain. My friend used to tell me that there was nothing I could do to make her go away. Yes this is more painful than death . I learned how to be vulnerable and trusting with her, after years of isolation and fear . I now have way too much time alone. She was the most loving person I experienced in my 57yrs. Now she is completely detached and unconcerned and even judges me. My other friends are in disbelief- that she has abandoned me, so am I. I have been unable to get an explanation from her. I must remember my worth and maintain dignity by walking away gracefully. It’s her loss too

Oh is that a Pilot G2 pen? I love those pens so much haha. I loved all the shots in this (the park is so pretty!) paired with the voice over. This was very encouraging! I never really had a falling out with a close friend, but I am a very guarded person who tends to push friendships away. It definitely would be useful for me to open up a little more and take more risks when it comes to connecting with people!

It is! haha. They're great pens!
Aw thank you! We randomly had a gorgeous day in the middle of winter lol, so I thought I'd take advantage of it. It snowed a couple days later! 😂
I'm glad you haven't ever experienced the pain of losing a friend, but I do encourage you to open yourself up a little more. It can be just little steps at a time. :) From my experience, finding good friends is worth the risk. 😊

I left a long term friendship recently. Actually I was getting triggered, I never spoke about it but as time went by I got more and more anxious and eventually depression. I had to leave the friendship, this is now 2 months ago and there's bin no contact either way. It's sad.

I’m so so sorry you experienced this, Nora 😔💜 That can be such a hard decision to make, especially when it comes to our triggers. I hope you find healing day by day 💜

Many friends abandoned me during the pandemic and it still hurts from time to time, especially when new abandonment issues come my way. It all gets fused together and leaves me down for a while. I don’t know how to not feel this way anymore and it’s wearing on me mentally, emotionally and physically. I’m not sure I know how to trust anyone anymore after being tossed to the side like that. I’m so scared that it will happen again and don’t want the heartache of getting left behind to return.
