This is the best video I have seen on fixing problems with lawn mowers and weed wackers and stuff like that. I really really appreciate your comments and your years of experience.
I run a mobile repair business in upstate NY, huge fan of your videos, lots of tips and great advice, I always learn something new. Glad to see you're busy have a great year!
I wish I’d known the difference between a MS291 and an MS261. Stihl chain saws. I was the old guy who couldn’t start the 291 so I had my local dealer find the easy start that works for that saw. He installed it but the conversion to an easy start also requires a new flywheel. Parts are Stihl in order.
I’m 78 years old… I have learned a lot of things from watching your videos… good too see a woman doing great as a mechanic/ teacher/ helper…. Keep up the great work… from your old brother from another mother…. Lol 😅
I worked at a small repair shop for years that was part of a store. We serviced what we sold. We had a boss that wouldn't hire someone to handle the window traffic, fone & parts. Since there was only 2 of us in the shop you can imagine how things went. Bear in mind we had to do pick-up & delivery also. It wasn't uncommon to be a month out. On top of that the boss would shoehorn his buddies stuff ahead of others. It was an absolute 3-ring circus! I've retired long ago, all of this happened back in the '80s & that particular shop still operates that way. I did operate a shop at home during that time also & that got old with sometimes 16 hour days. There's more to the story but this's long enough.
Messed with a buddy's Husqvarna 128 LD trimmer yesterday. Started off with a simple carb replacement and a plug change. Plug wire pulled apart and it basically went downhill from there. 2 hrs later, I thought "I am glad I do not do this for a living." I am just that "guy in the neighborhood" who fixes things! Keep up the awesome work. I learn something from every video!
Nobody seems to be proactive. I own and run a small HVAC business and this past week has been swamped. And of course everyone wants the work done YESTERDAY! I feel for ya! That's a lot of work that you're cranking out. Nicely done.
Hello, You are awesome. I live in Maine, and in the last five years, I've had two strokes and four brain surgeries. After watching your channel, I tried my hand at picking up a few snowblowers and mowers to repair. First of all I can't believe, people throw these away just because of a broken recoil rope, etc. You've taught me so much, you're an awesome mechanic! Anyways, I've made a few bucks and have enjoyed repairing these. I thank you!!
welcome to the new age, where inflation has skyrocketed and everybody thinks everything is disposable and not many have real skills. the mostly self inflicted implosion of the USA is well underway.
You do so many good deeds for people every day including us RUclipsrs. I just got on your RUclips channel not to long ago and you are always trying to help everyone. You got my vote, I watch all time now, learning small engines, I have bunch of lawn related stuff I can work on. Thanks again.
70 years old here and I work at my own pace now :) I fixed 2 weed trimmers and a push mower today and was satisfied :) . Used to have a big small engine shop and was busy like you and it was fun bury busy and I miss it sometimes but feel like at my age, 2 or 3 per day is just fine. God Bless you, your family & your business.
Your channel is one of the few I always learn something from. One reason is you explain why the issues are happening at the same time showing how to fix them.
Wow! You are the goddess of peoples Lunders bloopers mistakes and untold stories of their equipment and we bought that with you you’re doing a great job and man I guess that is called job security when you have that much coming into your shop every day. congratulations on a job well done you got it and thanks again.
Your town is lucky to have a repair shop like yours in it. I remember when I lived in Arkansas, homeowners did some "magical" repairs that made figuring out what in the heck the owner did to their machines. As one old farmer told me... "EVERYTHING can be repaired with bailing wire.". 😆
My dad had a friend that was a wheel horse dealer. We would go in and I always marveled at how busy they were. After he was done at the shop he would go to his other job at a GM transmission plant oh and he also farmed. I don’t know how he did it. I honestly don’t have the patience for prolonged problems you definitely have my respect.
Day after i saw you fix a primitive sitdown. Fine black particles had appears on the exhaust and a day later i couldn't start the mower. gotta find how to diagnose tis sick prob. Ideas suvv esgionz.
I had a small engine sales and repair shop I took over when my husbands back got to bad to work. After 15 years I retired at 69. I feel like I'm watching myself! A customer told me about your channel a couple years ago and told me I should do the same. Told him I have enough jobs to do as I did everything. Don't miss the work but I really miss my customers!
Wow! I knew that you were busy, but the number of problems that you fixed in one day is huge. You are a treasure to your community for all the help that you provide to your customers. I have learned so much from you. I pass on things that I have learned to others. I had someone who was having trouble with a Ariens GT. I have several and others in the area that have them also look to me for help when they need it. The GT would run if fuel was added to the carb using another gas can. IT would draw fuel from it so I knew that the fuel pump was working. I suggested changing the fuel line running form the tank to the filter and then to the fuel pump. New fuel line and a filter did the trick. He now is back mowing. I remember that the fuel lines can deteriorate on the inside from the ethanol in the fuel and after about 30 years the line was no good.
Just wanted to share. I watched the video on the echo universal speed feed weed eater head. Bought one. Loved it. Got another for my brother's birthday. Thank you.
Nice job Bre!! This is the most hectic time of year for you and I think you do and excellent job of keeping up with all those repairs. I used to do some of that as a hobby and would go to a mower shop to get parts. I saw what they were dealing with on a daily basis. WOW!!!!! They had about 6 or 8 mechanics in the shop and usually 3 or 4 ladies at the front to wait on customers. I was always amazed at how knowledgeable these ladies were. If I had specific diagnostic questions they couldn't answer they would call in a mechanic who specialized in that area. SUPER nice people!!!! You remind me of them. Always helpful and trying to give the customer the best advice to "save them time money and frustration" 😁
Looks crazy but think of all of the work others can now do because of your efforts and the exponential impact of your shop is truly staggering! What a great service you provide to your community. God bless you, Bre, you are AWESOME!
Your channel is one of the few I enjoy. I work on my lawn equipment and as long as you're getting spark, gas and air everything should be great. Not so with small engines. I'd rather work on a big block truck engine sometimes. It should be the opposite. Thanks for your channel. I think I'm leaning a lot.
Oh well, spring time is there for sure. Respect for all the work you have to do. I got Lots of push mowers, trimmers and blowers coming in and sitting around for maintanance and repairs here so I know how it feels. Keep up the great work
i truley appreciate you guys doing all this. i had snall gas repair, nobody wanted to pay. my favorite was" well i can buy a new one at that price" so i put "out of business , go buy a new one"
Recently fixed a free jonsered 2040 I was given. Didn't run. Chain rusted. Cut 4 cord with it so far now. Now I have 2 more Jon sered to fix for a friend 2159w turbos. And 2 brigs motor mowers that sat for undetermined years to the point everything is seized solid. I got the 2 2159s running. And one still just needs an oil pickup. Couldn't see the plastics on one it was so gummed with oil/dirt/sawdust that it made a coconut shell over the plastics... Your videos are what got the 3 chainsaws working again.
Wow you really busted thru some serious units!! Awesome job. I really enjoyed this type of video. It was fun seeing you fix everything and your methodology you use. :) Have a great day!
Awesome video Bre! A day in the life of a power equipment and small engine repair shop owner. Although it may be chaos, you make it look easy which is why you are a true professional.
I went to start my stihl hedge trimmer the other day and it ran poorly and died. Pumped a few times and it did the same thing. Just saw this video with you fixing as many things as you could and the one machine you said to pump the primer 40 times. Seemed counterintuitive the trimmer would flood. Just tried it, pumped it 40 times and it started on the second pull. Can't thank you enough. Learn so much from you. Be Well
I love your channel because you show exactly how the build quality of these machines are on a steady and continual decline. Your work is top notch and your customers are lucky to have such a capable and honest shop. That said, my new scythe bypasses all of the issues of starting a machine and hoping it works for the first mow. All I have to do is peen the blade after about a few hours of cutting and honing the blade. No more plastic parts, fuel choked carbs and had gas. Woo Hoo!
I feel this. My full-time work is swamped, & my part time mowing is OVER FULL now. Doing my absolute best to get there, & get my mowing caught up. Turning new clients down now, not sure if thats good or bad? Keep slugging them out you eventually get caught up.
Good Vid. At my shop the first thing I do is pour the gas out of the machine into a mason jar. Then while its sitting to separate I check for spark and other things. I then come back and check the jar for water, trash and sawdust. That will tell me about the filter and the screen in the carb. Helps save time.
Thank you so much I came across you and can't stop watching your vids, honestly brilliant help❤i work with a dinosaur who been gardening for 35 years and he's man knows best lol I'm 7 year in but always done my own work on cars so on, didn't know anything about 2 stroke apart from look for spark lol now I'm telling him, I'm having help from a chickanic he's no no no it's not that then I do it and it works 😂 you made my work so much fun, again thank you ❤
Young lady you are a blast to watch very knowledgeable my uncle was a small engine mechanic just wish I had listened to him more now at 68 year's old i just remembered enough to get in trouble so i come watch the best . Thanks for sharing be safe have fun
Thanks for the sitting along time trimmer starting tip. Primed it 20 times, pull the cord at full throttle and keep it there long after it starts. Would have tried 40 primer pumps, but I had it running briefly 4 days ago. Before that the echo 225 hadn't started in some 5+ years. We have 2 trimmers, electric Lowes for light duty and the echo with aftermarket non-string, 3 plastic blades for heavier weeds.
You are a lot more patient than I. Sometimes it takes me a few days I will lose my cool and break something if I just don't walk away. A quick aggravating fix if I am in a bad mood can lead to buying a new piece of equipment or doing without. That is why I specifically am NOT a small engine mechanic.
I am right there with you. That is why I prefer working on my own stuff. When it reaches the point of no return, I can at least Hulk out on it and get THAT satisfaction!
Same here. I used to have a couple of frustrating "customers". I'm a homeowner, but I had my kids doing the yardwork. And I'd have to repair my equipment WAY more often than when I was doing the yardwork. Sometimes, I'd swear that sabotage was involved. Which would cause more work because I would be looking in the wrong places for problems. Sometimes I felt like I was running a small engine shop for two problematic customers.
@@ericpigg2689 I try ever so hard to just walk away and gain my composure. Often enough just cooling off makes things work so much better. I am 56 years old. I have broken things beyond repair I have a very violent temper. I try to walk away, I don't want to break it, and I am getting to the age where blowing up can cause medical issues that you cannot return from. These days I start getting irritated, I get up and go do something else for a while. I HAVE to for my own healths sake.
Much respect ma’am for your work in the retail industry, I couldn’t do it. I work in a totally different profession as a craftsman for the retailer. I certainly enjoy your content, thank you for the information you provide.
Love this channel! Good quality content. Videos are well edited and the information is great. I have worked on my own stuff, my whole life, but I have still learned a few things from this channel. Keep up the great content.!👍🏻
What you say is chaos for me would be the best thing that could happen to me. I have a garden equipment repair shop and you receive more or less the same amount of equipment in a day that I receive in a month. I hope one day I can get to where you are.
I am so glad that I live in a drier part of the country. I can leave fuel in over the winter, hit the primer bulb 10 or 12 times and have it fire on the first pull. I do use ethanol free fuel.
I feel your pain...replaced a carb last year on my push mower, hit a root this year and did my best to straighten out the shaft, then the carb started allowing fuel to flood through. Rebuilt the carb on my riding mower, added a quality fuel filter and fuel cut off, it ran fine. A few weeks later, it acts like it isn't getting any fuel....yes I turned the cut off back on. Always something. Bought a new electric mower, but the battery doesn't do the whole yard.
I'll bet he'll be happy to deal straight with you. He sent me his direct email once and answered my questions. I'm about 4.5 hours away and will definitely consider the drive or delivery charges for my next tractor.
Keep putting videos like this out, with the how to fix this or that, and maybe someone will dive in and do it there self. Very good video! I learned a lot.

Thanks for a great day! You did excellent diagnosing, such talent.
Great to see you in action! Thanks!
Great video lady. A lot of great info
Love watching your videos.
Hey y'all awesome footage keep stepping and fetching 💪
Always fun and informative when your vids come out. Pity your shop isn't busy lol
I'll bet he'll be happy to deal straight with you. He sent me his direct email once and answered my questions. I'm about 4.5 hours away and will definitely consider the drive or delivery charges for my next tractor.
Thats a bunch of work!
You certainly churn through the jobs. Great video...
Keep putting videos like this out, with the how to fix this or that, and maybe someone will dive in and do it there self. Very good video! I learned a lot.
