Love your delivery man. You are so not the everyday American content creator. You have a great understanding of geography outside the the Lower 48, you pronounce all the German place (and train) names correctly, you know your PZB from your LZB.... as I say, I'm not meaning to offend Americans but it's true most have a very internal outlook. You are wise and worldly sir! I agree with everything you say about DTG, the price hike, the low quality, the politics. Please accept my apologies that as the main train development house, this is the 'best' that Britain can do. The British Walmart of train sim - what a great analogy.

OMG you got me on that one the vents look good "Or Do They" 😂 long story short at that moment you said that my drink that was in my mouth was all over everything. I'll tell you from talking to 1 other DTG employee besides Alex that has said everything on the outside of every Locomotive in game have No clue what the parts are and what they do in Real Life as this person has told me that they really don't care to know and to show me that that's 100% true they said that's why DTG has never asked anyone on the Forums on research or details how that works and why it's there, so when DTG's says there Railroader Fan's there Not like us American Railroader Fans that could tell you anything about any Locomotive part! Fact. I could easily poke fun at these 2 but that's Not me, as they have No clue on 90% of the units, in their own words "any American Unit has black box spring looking thing's down under the frame near the wheel trucks to them thought it was a Shock Springs" has yes they kinda do look like springs but then I told them it's a pipe line made of hard rubber vent system to blow cool air into the Traction Motor case to cool down traction motors when in use which has 4 connectors 2 to blow cool air in and 2 to exhaust out, just shows how much knowledge DTG's has as that's why we never get anything Great. I have to tell you this so for the last 4 months I've been testing the waters of DTG's TSW3 live stream monthly roadmap. I have found out 2 HUGE questions answered that everyone been wanting to know 1 being when will American Steam Engines be coming to TSW3 and from Matt Peddlesden said wait till TSW4 releases as a Joke then went into saying that it's too complicated for the team of DTG at the moment with all the different sounds and moving parts on the outside as well as inside the cab, so If your waiting for the UP Big Boy anytime soon try 12 years from now. The Second question I asked was an interesting stream as I got Matt to kind of leak it without him realizing what he was talking about then a Higher Up jumped in stream 18 mins after talking about it and cut his voice out of stream for a bit and that was about Multiplayer as Matt went into saying that DTG has been working on a MP mode which will have different job titles online in a game on a server that players can play as and one of the many other reasons for the in game custom skins to be used. Virtual Railroads as far as I know have done content for Train Sim Classic from 2012 to 2022 only 24 DLC Pieces. Most recent additions were back in 2022 and only 2 DLC Wagon packs were released by them via steam. Last locomotive release from Virtual Railroads for Train Sim Classic on Steam was the DB BR 181.2 from 2019 even then no DLC items were released from them during 2018
The freight yard you show at 1:03:20 is not in use anymore. It was an important one because in Bingerbrück originates a branch line to Bad Kreuznach and further on to Saarbrücken (coal industry). After crossing the Nahe river there was once a big roundhouse with turntable. The depot and the freight yard were used as long as steam dominated the rail. When the railway was built in 1859/60 Bingerbrück was a border town between Prussia and the grand duchy of Hessen. - Today there is neither a depot and only a small remainder of the former freight yard which is not used anymore.
I hate how DTG (or as I call them, Doesn't Test Games) still haven't come clean and explained why the prices have increased so much. There's no excuse for the often sub-par quality now, especially if the recent NEC fiasco is anything to go by. As for the RUclipsrs who get these add-ons for free, I would take everything they say with a grain of salt. I get the impression that DTG are just breathing down their necks to make sure they don't say anything bad about the add-ons. Also, I noticed that the BR103's whistle is reused from the BR110.3 (since when did players expect new recordings. Nah, that's far too much to ask). And that whistle sound is actually from the BR420 in TS classic. Make of that what you will.
JD did explain in the forums several times. He said it's due to inflation, increased cost of living, etc. It's probably not the answer you want but that's what JD said himself.
No, its due to bullshit. Just bc milk is the price of a used Ferrari in the UK doesnt mean they need to charge that much more per dlc. Companies lie... ofcourse they're not gonna be like "yeah we raised prices for no reason bc deal w it"...
@@potatoman451 Inflation my ass. I can get myself a triple A game for $10 more, so why would I pay almost the price of a game like Callisto Protocol or the Dead Space remake for something that is of typical DTG low quality? If DTG wants consumers to pay more for something, then DTG needs to invest more resources and time into presenting us with a better value.
Nice! I personally think this route is a far cry from the Pro Train 1 version that was made for MSTS in early 2000s by Blue Sky Interactive. That version goes all the way to Colonge from Frankfurt despite the rolling stock aren't as detailed as the TSW3 version and the ICE 3 (high speed line not included) was also thrown in there because it was the newest train at the time.
You're comparing a very basic train simulation that probably wasn't that high resolution to a modern game on a modern game engine that takes much longer to build stuff
Just to clarify, I'm not in anyway Defending DTG and I do not Agree with the Price Increases, but I'm pretty sure they did mention something about The reason being because of The Inflation rate currently in the UK, but I may be wrong :) Still Doesn't Justify That Much Of An Increase Though~ Just Realised Someone Already Mentioned This, So Sorry For Duplicating The Same Message :)
From the beginning, it's not been possible to walk through certain locomotives, when you can it's usually out of necessity and the modeling is simplified. You can still walk through the passenger cars as usual.
First off thanks for the in-depth video. I like the way you dig into the details of the trains and also the historical details of the area. I don't agree with you on everything but in general I find your criticisms reasonable. However, I would like to offer a piece of constructive criticism of my own: I find the use of the term 'fanboy' very irritating as it's simply a derogatory way to refer to people who enjoy something you do not (or not to the same extent). I think it's fine to criticise DTG for lack of detail or polish in certain areas, but I personally don't find it very constructive to direct that frustration onto the people who enjoy it for what it is. Just my two cents. Cheers mate.
Tsg is making it much much later down the line. He still has to release niddertalbahn next week along with any fixes to the bugs that may appear, 420 and 232. 218 is after 232. He is also helping as a second party so anything German dtg is making
I agree with you, the recent push of shoddy content at a higher price from dovetail has just been outrageous. The only route I have really liked besides Niddertalbahn has been SEH, those are both well done. I haven't played classic in awhile but I'm about to go back just because of the variety of rolling stock too. Also agree with you with how they do unreal engine, sometimes it looks really really good and then other times washed out and not well done.
