Lawson was sharing his sportbike with Satoshi Tsujimoto, who finished 8th in points in the 1993 Japanese 500GP series while also being the 1985 and 1986 TTF1 (SBK) champion. As long as the 500GP class was alive (until 1993), the TTF1/SBK class was always a secondary/feeder series.
I just got back from the 2024 8H. Crazy to see the difference! The crowd size in this video is so much larger compared to what it's like now. At least this year was bigger than 2023 so it's on an upswing. Probably not helped by the temperatures though! Crazy to see in this video that the temperature was 27 degrees. It was 36 or 37 for most of the day this year. Poor riders! Also, what a shitty title. 'That Japanese Guy', really?
That crash at 12:17 was the front tire loosing traction on the white paint & gripping again after leaving the slippery paint & loading Up the front suspension when the rear suspension was already left loaded up & sending the whole machine in a frenzy wobble in a turn where the rider couldn't ride said wobbly wobble out & simply went of course into those foam cushions got thrown off and amazingly the bike started again like starting it normally. But yah Stay off the painted surfaces and you & the bike will finish the event and not look so amateur.
The Suzuka 8 hour was traditionally the most important race for the Japanese factories. They always used the 8H to debut new models. So at the end of 93 they released it to the rest of the world (and showrooms) for the 1994 season.
@@rapid13 I'm afraid not. The 1993 factory RVF750 used the RC30 derived engine with center gear train and carbs. The 1994 RVF-RC45 used a very different engine with side mounted gear drives and fuel injection. They are a world apart.

how can this be the 1993 suzuka..didn't the rc45 come out in 1994?

0:28 shows the date
They aren't RC45's, they are factory RVF's. A very different machine. They used the RC45 from 1994 until '99.
@@stephenrc45 Same machine. RVF in Japan = RC in the US, and in 1993 the RVF750 was the RC45. Only difference is the badging.
