I am grateful for John's testimony... I think it's awesome how The Lord greatly blessed John when John placed his life in Christ's hands. It was an honor to have John as our guest, and it's the same honor when others watch and comment... We thank you! Blessings! -Kent
Thank you for watching and commenting, Rudy; we are grateful! Indeed, "History" is a great collection of John's material throughout the years! Blessings! -Kent
WOW the one and ONLY John Schlitt is finally in the house. I have Loved John through Petra and his solo career since 1990. Got to meet him in 1991 or 2 on my 20th birthday when he was starting his solo career. Id love to see John again if he comes around Ky. Im a die hard Petra fan too. Thank You Rex and Kent.
Thank you for watching and commenting, Tom; we are genuinely appreciative! Very cool that you were able to meet John in the early 90s! I have seen John with Petra during three tours, and it certainly was an honor to be able to fellowship with him here. I had been conversing with his publicity team since October of 2023, and I am very thankful that everyone's schedule finally afforded a mutually open door! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings, Tom! -Kent
Totally Awesome interview. Thank you Rex and Kent. John is an amazing guy- full of Jesus. His music and message has had a huge impact throughout my life and I was super blessed to see him in Germany last October 🙏💥
Wonderful that you were able to see him in Germany recently! My first time to see John (with Petra) was in 1989 as the "On Fire" tour was still in full swing. I was also able to see the Beyond Belief and Unseen Power tours. It truly was an honor to be able to fellowship with John and thank you so much for watching and commenting. We are grateful! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
I agree amazing interview with John , can't wait to met John in Hudson fl for the 50 anniversary of Petra , just catching up with the podcast recently got into a work related accident but thanks to God doing better day by day. God bless you guys 🙏
I am sorry to hear about your accident, Angelo. Glad to hear that you are doing better and that you will be able to see Petra for their 50th anniversary FL concert! Wishing you The Lord's blessings! -Kent
I like John's voice more now than in the past...I like the little bit of raspiness and gravel... it's more seasoned imo. Some folks just keep getting better with age. Another great show guys. Blessings upon you and yours.
Thank you for watching and commenting, Jack; we are grateful! Yes, John's voice just keeps getting better and wonderfully seasoned! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
Awesome interview!! I first heart of John when This Means War was the new album, and since then have obtained all Petra albums as well as John's solo material. I was just listening to "Go" a couple of days ago...what a great album!!! I may be the only John Schlitt fan who has never heard anything from Head East, maybe I'll to to look some of it up out of curiosity. 😁
Hey, Brother Scott! I first heard John via the Back to the Street album... Picked it up when it first came out, plopped down on my bed and put on my headphones then eagerly listened to "Petra's new lead singer". My fears were abated when I first heard John's high tenor voice peppered with just the right amount of rock-and-roll rasp! John has a wonderful testimony, and I think it's awesome how The Lord has blessed him musically. I picked up Head East's first album, Flat as a Pancake, in 1991 while in college. I was curious to hear John "pre-Petra". It's a great classic rock album, musically speaking. Blessings, brother! Thank you as always for watching and commenting! -Kent
Once again Rex and Kent, great interview. I saw Petra live with John singing on their "Beyond Belief tour" and they were great live. I also saw John and Bob Hartman doing the The Two Guys From Petra at The Sellersville Theatre. Keep up the great work that you guys are doing.
We are always grateful to hear from you, Gerald! Thank you for watching and commenting! My first-time seeing Petra with John was circa 1989 as they were promoting the On Fire/Petra Praise tour. I was also fortunate to see them on their Beyond Belief and Unseen Power tours. I'm glad that you were also able to see them live! Petra rocks! Blessings! -Kent
Just got a chance to watch this episode. Awesome interview, Rex and Kent. The History project was one of my favorite things to work on, and God blessed me by being able to write the biographical essay for it, after I did the one for Petra's Fifty box set. Thanks for hosting such a great RUclips channel! God bless!
Thanks for watching and commenting, John! Very cool that you were able to work on John's History collection and Petra's 50th! Thanks for helping to make it all great for us fans! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
Thank you Kent and Rex , I do appreciate it . This year's been tough so far but with God by my side everything is possible 🙏. Love listening to you guys podcast specially at the end the read of scripture is really strengthen our faith, thank you again 🙏
The most important thing we do in our vodcast is to read from God's Word. It will not return to God empty. I will say a prayer for your continued healing, Angelo. May The Lord be glorified. -Kent
Awesome Interview! As you may know, I'm a huge Petra fan. They were one of the first Rock/Hard Rock bands that I became a fan of in 1985. I love both the Greg X Volz and John Schlitt albums with Petra. I think Petra will always be in my top 5 favorite bands of all time and won't likely change along with Stryper and Saint. Like Stryper, Petra was a trail blazer. I like some of the John Schliit songs as well but not to the point of buying his solo albums. I have the 2 Union and Sinners and Saints albums and there is a lot of great songs on those too. I saw Petra in the summer of 1997 during the We Need Jesus tour. They played material I think from most of the albums from This Means War to We Need Jesus and also Judas Kiss. When they do the cross Canada Church tour hopefully they will come to my area so I can see them live again. I emailed my local church about this to let them know so I'm not sure what will come of it.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Michael! We are grateful for your friendship! I appreciate both the Greg days of old and the continuing John years. It was such a privilege to speak with John... Super nice gentleman! Blessings, Michael! -Kent
Thank you for watching and commenting, John... We are genuinely grateful! There are some subjects discussed off-camera of which we are told would be better served via a future interview... Know what I mean? 🙂 Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings! -Kent
Praise God! How many lives have been touched by this man's singing for the Lord! Too many to count i am sure. Thanx John and thanx 312!
