One of my fave bands ever! Them and Stryper got me through some dark times in my young life. Standing at the crossroad, trying to figure which way to go. I still remember when my best friend at the time brought the First Watch cassette tape , and I was blown away with the production value of it.

Hi, Brad! Thanks for sharing, brother! Yes, indeed, First Watch is a terrific album (which happened to be part of my "Summer of '89" soundtrack within my life). Stryper... Guardian... etc... Same as you, Brad, each has ministered to me and pointed me toward Christ and God's Word. That's why Rex and I often refer to these artists as our "youth ministers" because their songs ministered to us. Sounds like they ministered to you, too! May The Lord be glorified, and I wish you His continued blessings! -Kent

Thank you for watching, and I'm grateful that you enjoyed the interview! It was our privilege to host David. Apologies for the "Lead the Way" clip which received a "claim" at the final hour and had to be "erased" before the interview released. Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings!

Saw them on the great ultimate record Miracle Mile tour! At a Vineyard church in an old shopping Center in Marietta Ga. Got to meet David and Jamie after the show. Fun night. Good times!

Cool..Interview... I really Love Gaurdian Never got to see them live until Jamie Rowe -Fire And Love Tour which was INCREDIBLE !!!.....They Guardian were supposed to be the second Stryper same label (ENIGMA) ......What were they thinking with the MotoCross Outfits (WEIRD) ??? LOVE THE EARLY GARDIAN STUFF!!!!!!!...SPACE METAL!!!!!!

Thank you for watching, and I'm grateful that you enjoyed the interview! I do think the guys were going for a "space metal" vibe via the "armor of God" motif. Perhaps it is strange, but I surmise they were shooting for a vibe which made 'em stand out. After all, there was KISS with the makeup and costumes, Alice Cooper prior to KISS, Man-O-War with their barbarian look, Poison with their glamier-than-glam look, etc... Fun stuff! Very cool that you were able to see Guardian live!
Apologies for the "Lead the Way" clip which received a "claim" at the final hour and had to be "erased" before the interview released. Wishing you The Lord's blessings! -Kent

Looks like all of those videos have been removed from his Insta and Facebook accounts, so hopefully he is safe and getting back to normal. Continuing to pray for him.

Once again, Kent and Rex, great interview. Believe it or not, I got to open for Guardian back on March 3, 1998 with a short lived band that I had and another local band here called Fair Warning which is now TMB (Todd Moyer Band.) David Back wasn't with Guardian that night, but Brent Denny played for them that night. The guys in guardian made my band and Fair Warning great. tony Palacios prayed before we went on stage, and needless to say, it was such a blessing. Something I will treasure to for the rest of my life. Keep up the great work guys. God nless!! Jerry Elder

Very cool that you opened up for Guardian in '98, Jerry! What was the name of your band, and what instrument did you play (or were you the lead vocalist)? It's always a blessing to hear stories like this; thank you for sharing and for watching! Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings!

Great interview....DB can talk.... would love to hear some of those South America shows stories....
Im not sure why I have all of Guardians albums, I really only like the First Watch one ....but now that I've heard "the rest of the story" I understand what happened to the band.
    God Bless

Thank you for watching and commenting, and I'm grateful that you enjoyed the interview. Apologies for the "Lead the Way" clip which received a "claim" and had to be "erased" at the final hour. As David mentioned, Guardian really had three phases: The "First Watch" and Fusion era, the Fire & Love and Miracle Mile era, and the alt-rock era of Buzz and beyond. I gravitate toward the first two eras, but whatever Guardian touched, they did it with authority and aplomb. Blessings! -Kent

Loved this interview! Thanks so much David Bach and the Area 312 crew! I played and sang Never Say Goodbye in our Church back in the 90’s. Was a hoot!😁😁 Elders didn’t dig it, but the youth group did.😂 Bless you guys. Hope Guardian One is a hit! Can’t wait for the three album box set 👍👍

@@AREA312RockMetalVodcast Thank you and Rex both and all the crew at Area 312 for bringing us these interviews Kent. I grew up listening to these bands and artists. In many ways they strengthened and shaped my faith. May our Lord continue to bless the work you’re doing and strengthen you all! Best wishes.

@@Lowend_Chug It's our privilege to be able to do this, and I sincerely thank you for watching. Same as you: I grew up listening to these artists. I jammed a mean air guitar to the music, and I hung on to every word as they pointed toward God's Word. That is why I tell so many of these artists that they were like our "youth ministers" from back in the day. Blessings! -Kent
