Thank you for pointing this out. Any time pain is used in animal training you create fear receptors. Those receptors shut down learning in the brain. It really does, even in humans. Pain as punishment is used by people without the resources to teach correctly. Also the sewing room where the monkey was left was too dangerous. This was cruelty across the board.

They itch .,, they do it when they’re insecure and submissive .. humans do it too in uncomfortable situations when they’re trying to avoid confrontation from a more dominant person .., monkeys scratching themselves in any tense sort of situation, you can always guarantee that they are doing so bc it’s a way to deflect energy from being uncomfortable, they’re submitting even if subconsciously doing so … and they’re indicating being extremely stressed when they do so. If you ever take notice of monkeys social behavior and cues/ body language and responses to different scenarios / emotions / conflict etc , you’ll notice that monkeys who are in lower ranking positions during any type of stress or conflict or negative environment will exhibit this behavior of scratching alot .., pay attention next time and you’ll see a common pattern and notice that every time during such events , monkeys will react by exhibiting this very behavior.. then you’ll see it isn’t simply a matter of them being infested with parasites or in this case , itching from whatever fabric .., people fail to pay attention to alot of social cues even in their own people to people settings , so it isn’t shocking that they don’t pick up on cues when it’s other living beings conveying rather obvious social cues /non verbal cues / body language/ vocalizations etc…, but it’s sad that so many people miss signs they would’ve innately picked up on in any setting where they had to pay attention to such cues for survival .. people are so distracted and easily become less aware of obvious cues and behaviors bc this world is all about desensitization and diverting people from utilizing self thinking and awareness of their environment around them. They rely on others to do the thinking for them , to dictate how they should interpret whatever basic cues or protocol socially , when the best guide is discernment and intuitively being in tune with what is occurring in response to each situation at hand. Anyway,if people begin to actually observe behavior in monkeys in their own environment or even among humans, without trying to put some ridiculous humanized element to every action / reaction and behavior, they’d become more adept at discerning the behavior and cues being exhibited and honestly, more people need to pay attention to things like that , not only among other living beings they don’t understand or have knowledge into their cues and language being communicated, but among their own social settings and interactions with people.. Like many people don’t pick up on cues when interacting with others, like for example if you’re talking to someone and you keep talking but don’t pay attention to what is being given by the person in non verbal cues and body language or vocal cues, you may misinterpret the person and their treatment toward you, or confuse their behavior and take the wrong thing from it .. say they keep subconsciously angling their body toward the exit. Looking at their watch , the door and shifting body language toward the door rather than being fully engaged in your conversation (- as someone interested will angle their body naturally , toward the speaker , have a relaxed stance , may nod their head in agreement from time to time , have an open interested expression in their face / eyes , a mouth that is relaxed or smiling slightly .. if they’re angry or annoyed however. They may furl their brow , clinch the lips , have a hard narrow expression in their eyes .. if they are disinterested in the convo , they will shift their eyes or turn their head or shift their body in uncomfortable ways , indicating annoyance , being rushed or in a hurry , may say uh huh uh huh uh huh quickly and dismissively as they Want the person to hurry up and be done bc ppl don’t always just say what they’re feeling , they don’t wanna be rude but their body tells the truth in what they’re really feeling. People often misinterpret when someone is disengaged, disinterested , annoyed etc. just as people often can’t tell when someone is lying or being straight forward. It’s bc they lack ability to pay attention to cues being clearly given off. We can’t help but communicate in non verbal ways.. it’s innately hardwired with us. Animals show body language and gestures just as we do ., they may be different than our own , but they show them. A dog or cat when scared or uncomfortable will lower their body , the tail will be parallel to the ground or with dogs , tucked under their hind end , they will exhibit submissive behaviors among dominant members of their own species as well, such as posturing with looking down and away or angle body in a smaller more inferior non aggressive way etc .., one must learn to pay attention to things being conveyed like that if they ever want to truly avoid unnecessary conflict or confrontation etc. and to have a more balanced existence, as it’s vital for anyone to have such balance to pay attention to such cues and pay attention to what cues they are giving off as well , especially among those who wonder why they’re not able to get along with others or why others don’t initiate conversation or approach or include them etc.., it tney pay attention to how they read social cues and how they give off social cues , themselves, it’s very telling and anyway, only reason I’ve elaborated to such length is from a place of well meant effort , not to belittle or be mean but to open up about things that others can truly benefit from and simply just consider and take in , but again, my intent isn’t to be abrasive or negative. Just hopefully some of what I’ve expressed may be useful somehow for someone , whether in terms of properly reading and assessing a situation or understanding behaviors of animals who can’t just come out and talk to us to let us know , but who do in fact utilize the full spectrum of communication that they have the ability to communicate. Unfortunately, these long-tailed macaques are the least evolved of the macaques and the least intelligent. These are the worst to raise in captivity. The one that lends homself and adapts best to captivity is the red-faced macaque (YOYOVJR / BIBI) which no longer has a tail or a very small remnant. Then it's the Pigtail Macaque (LYLY / JK ET SHAKI) for which he has a little tail left. These long-tailed macaques never really adapt to life with humans, they operate entirely on instinct and do not learn. The significant evolution of the other 2 species allows them to adapt because they are capable of learning and understanding.

Monkeys don’t only scratch bc. They itch .,, they do it when they’re insecure and submissive .. humans do it too in uncomfortable situations when they’re trying to avoid confrontation from a more dominant person .., monkeys scratching themselves in any tense sort of situation, you can always guarantee that they are doing so bc it’s a way to deflect energy from being uncomfortable, they’re submitting even if subconsciously doing so … and they’re indicating being extremely stressed when they do so. If you ever take notice of monkeys social behavior and cues/ body language and responses to different scenarios / emotions / conflict etc , you’ll notice that monkeys who are in lower ranking positions during any type of stress or conflict or negative environment will exhibit this behavior of scratching alot .., pay attention next time and you’ll see a common pattern and notice that every time during such events , monkeys will react by exhibiting this very behavior.. then you’ll see it isn’t simply a matter of them being infested with parasites or in this case , itching from whatever fabric .., people fail to pay attention to alot of social cues even in their own people to people settings , so it isn’t shocking that they don’t pick up on cues when it’s other living beings conveying rather obvious social cues /non verbal cues / body language/ vocalizations etc…, but it’s sad that so many people miss signs they would’ve innately picked up on in any setting where they had to pay attention to such cues for survival .. people are so distracted and easily become less aware of obvious cues and behaviors bc this world is all about desensitization and diverting people from utilizing self thinking and awareness of their environment around them. They rely on others to do the thinking for them , to dictate how they should interpret whatever basic cues or protocol socially , when the best guide is discernment and intuitively being in tune with what is occurring in response to each situation at hand. Anyway,if people begin to actually observe behavior in monkeys in their own environment or even among humans, without trying to put some ridiculous humanized element to every action / reaction and behavior, they’d become more adept at discerning the behavior and cues being exhibited and honestly, more people need to pay attention to things like that , not only among other living beings they don’t understand or have knowledge into their cues and language being communicated, but among their own social settings and interactions with people.. Like many people don’t pick up on cues when interacting with others, like for example if you’re talking to someone and you keep talking but don’t pay attention to what is being given by the person in non verbal cues and body language or vocal cues, you may misinterpret the person and their treatment toward you, or confuse their behavior and take the wrong thing from it .. say they keep subconsciously angling their body toward the exit. Looking at their watch , the door and shifting body language toward the door rather than being fully engaged in your conversation (- as someone interested will angle their body naturally , toward the speaker , have a relaxed stance , may nod their head in agreement from time to time , have an open interested expression in their face / eyes , a mouth that is relaxed or smiling slightly .. if they’re angry or annoyed however. They may furl their brow , clinch the lips , have a hard narrow expression in their eyes .. if they are disinterested in the convo , they will shift their eyes or turn their head or shift their body in uncomfortable ways , indicating annoyance , being rushed or in a hurry , may say uh huh uh huh uh huh quickly and dismissively as they Want the person to hurry up and be done bc ppl don’t always just say what they’re feeling , they don’t wanna be rude but their body tells the truth in what they’re really feeling. People often misinterpret when someone is disengaged, disinterested , annoyed etc. just as people often can’t tell when someone is lying or being straight forward. It’s bc they lack ability to pay attention to cues being clearly given off. We can’t help but communicate in non verbal ways.. it’s innately hardwired with us. Animals show body language and gestures just as we do ., they may be different than our own , but they show them. A dog or cat when scared or uncomfortable will lower their body , the tail will be parallel to the ground or with dogs , tucked under their hind end , they will exhibit submissive behaviors among dominant members of their own species as well, such as posturing with looking down and away or angle body in a smaller more inferior non aggressive way etc .., one must learn to pay attention to things being conveyed like that if they ever want to truly avoid unnecessary conflict or confrontation etc. and to have a more balanced existence, as it’s vital for anyone to have such balance to pay attention to such cues and pay attention to what cues they are giving off as well , especially among those who wonder why they’re not able to get along with others or why others don’t initiate conversation or approach or include them etc.., it tney pay attention to how they read social cues and how they give off social cues , themselves, it’s very telling and anyway, only reason I’ve elaborated to such length is from a place of well meant effort , not to belittle or be mean but to open up about things that others can truly benefit from and simply just consider and take in , but again, my intent isn’t to be abrasive or negative. Just hopefully some of what I’ve expressed may be useful somehow for someone , whether in terms of properly reading and assessing a situation or understanding behaviors of animals who can’t just come out and talk to us to let us know , but who do in fact utilize the full spectrum of communication that they have the ability to communicate. Rem. They all feel and experience the full range of emotions, animals are very intentional and purposeful and have self awareness, self thought , they aren’t simply autonomous or instinct led only.., they are capable just as we are of very complex thought and action and of very intricate ways of conveying things, problem solving etc. we aren’t the only ones with extensive abilities in that regard. People fail to understand how intricate other living beings brains are even if not as developed and as large as our own … relative to body size, everything has been created with a capacity to feel , think , decide and experience a wide range of emotions. People often dismiss animals abilities to think , problem solve ; react , act , feel , etc. and too often people wanna only attach whatever humanized type of explanation for what they perceive in animals. .. they fail to even pick up on most basic of things that are in many aspects, obvious .
Unfortunately, these long-tailed macaques are the least evolved of the macaques and the least intelligent. These are the worst to raise in captivity. The one that lends homself and adapts best to captivity is the red-faced macaque (YOYOVJR / BIBI) which no longer has a tail or a very small remnant. Then it's the Pigtail Macaque (LYLY / JK ET SHAKI) for which he has a little tail left. These long-tailed macaques never really adapt to life with humans, they operate entirely on instinct and do not learn. The significant evolution of the other 2 species allows them to adapt because they are capable of learning and understanding.
