Brilliant video, really enjoyed listening. I'm just getting into lego 😂 I quite like the idea of keeping things on the smaller side. Speed Champions are something I've got my eyes on 😊
Well done. Got stung with Vidiyo but only one each now trying to get rid of them on Sunday at Peterborough Brick Festival. Looking forward to your Amazon Prime Haul
Thanks for the video! I feel like the New Guardians Ship will do well if it does indeed retire at the end of the year. The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are very popular and the set just came out this past spring so I feel like it’s really flying under the radar at the moment. Will definitely pick up if it goes on sale in the near future.
Thanks. There are always going to be a few sets worth getting from most ranges - I definitely agree with the Guardians ship though. I don't have one yet, but I have my eye on them.
Some nice deals right now Iain. I bought Bowser for £183 and added the Lego figure for £45 so £229. I used the groupon £20 voucher deal, 5% VIP, means cost is nearer to £198. So Bowser is costing about £153, but I also get four promos stacked with a value of about £60 including Blacktron. Very nice :)
Perfect start to the week Iain. Thank you for posting this today. 1268 products! If it wasn't for you I'd never keep up. Amazing insights thank you for sharing them with us. We can't wait to meet you at brick festival soon.
Im an adult collector and i love ninjago :) I only buy the buildings mostly for my ninjago city display and i like to collect the the destiny bounty's. Apart from the modular buildings i would not buy to invest though as you mentioned they are mostly mechs and vehicles these days. I think because they have a tv show which is still going it has a good fan base for collecting the minifigs. I tend to buy the helmets and speed champions for investment to fund my addiction, they are also good sizes for posting not too heavy and not too big. I did manage to pick up the sanctum sanctorum for a reasonable £110 and i think i will try to get the blacksmith as their are so many rebrickable versions of the set makes it desirable to have more than 1. Do you still have a lego city? If you have time could give an update on your personal lego collection tour. Thanks for the content.
There's nothing wrong in buying or investing in any theme, but with so many sets and themes out there, I like to stick to the themes that I know and like.
I was building the Land Rover Classic well watching your video, i invest in some certain sets from your top 5. I like you don't have the money or storage space to buy everything, some of the modulars i think myself are too much to invest in properly. I will be sticking to the between £10 to £60 ish range for investing in future.
personally, i think that lego star wars is the BEST for investment. its audience is so wide, ranging from rlly young kids to full blown adults and it has so many different types of sets like battle packs or the UCS line!
Every market is different. For example, in the USA, almost everything is sold (in other countries, it can be unsaleable waste). I personally don't discriminate when it comes to specific themes, you always have to focus on the uniqueness of the lego set. For example, such a Blacksmith medieval is an exceptional set that will have a good evaluation here as well.
@@iainsbricks I thought that, for example, lego Friends is 99% useless as an investment, but Botanical garden is a great lego set despite the fact that lego friends as a whole is about nothing.
Not an investor just a collector and have to say that buying at a brick festival is infinitely better than online. You can’t beat a real shopping experience
I gravitate towards the same themes to invest in as you do Iain, although I did buy a bunch of Ninjago sets last year, those that had the golden anniversary minifigs so they might do well, we'll have to wait and see. It was out of my comfort zone as I never invested in Ninjago before. But that brings me to the only point I disagree with you Iain, I think you don't need to like a set to invest in it. If the research/uniqueness shows that a set has potential then I believe there's an opportunity and it doesn't matter what I personally think about the set. One final thing I would say is know the most popular themes from the past as well, eg castles and pirates. Even though these themes stopped (for now), they do come back into other themes like eg the Medieval Blacksmith which has huge potential.
Hi, thanks for your comments. I do sometimes buy sets that I'm not keen on, but generally I try to sets that I actually like myself as well, although that's not always a great indicator that the set will do well once retired.
The tuk tuks should retire this year and could do ok once they've retired, but probably won't appreciate that much in value. The small Vespas will be around for a while so I would hold off buying any for now.

Vidiyo was a nonr starter for me from the start - a bit like the new Dreamzzz theme now - avoid! Good look at the Brick Festival
Very nice selection 😁 Today i got the lego marvel Thor love and tunder goat boat for €46.09 in my local Tesco on clearance 😄
That's excellent
@@iainsbricks Thank u 😁

Hi Tom, good to see you taking advantage of all the great deals at the moment. I've been spending far too much again!
Thank you for agreeing DOTs is a wonderful theme and we are all going to miss it when it disappears next year.
Lol! DOTS is my no.1 🤣
@@iainsbricks Question is would you buy the Harry Potter Dots sets?

Thanks Jsi. Even I was amazed how many sets Lego had available on their website - and yes, I did check the amount myself.
The amount of sets that are being discontinued is alarming. Really don't want to miss out before we've saved up from them 😂

Great video very helpful.🙏🏽😊

Its definitely the most desirable Lego theme around

Yes, it can make a difference where you live as well. The Blacksmith is a great set, which is part of the ideas range.

The best tip for investors: buy theme which you like, if you won't sell, at least you have sets you like 😅
That's very true!
Very interesting video Iain 👏👌😉👍
Thanks for watching
I am going to buy the Ninjago city set because the detail is a amazing
It is a fantastic looking set.

They are great places to buy and sell
Do you think recent decline and backlash against Disney will harm any of those themed investments?
It could do a little I guess, but that's one of the many risks to Lego investing
do you think all of Disney's 100th anniversary ends this year or?
No, I'm sure quite a few will still be available next year.
@@iainsbricks hmmm okee
Thanks for helping me with my cleaning. Lol
Lol, no problem

would the LEGO Creator tuk tuks and the small vespas do good for investments as im considering buying 10-15 of each?

@@iainsbricks thank you much appreciated for the advice👍
Do you trade with other investors/retailers?
Be careful with talking about the 8 wide Speed Champions - think these have been a controversy!
No, I only buy Lego from physical locations of places that have their own website
