I saw him onstage at the Met in today’s (rainy) matinee. He was wonderful but, like most singers, he sounds far better in the theater than on these social media platforms. In fact, he doesn’t even sound good on this clip, whereas he sounded amazing to us in the balcony.

Brian Jagde's amazing instrument should be heard and appreciated live onstage. He is phenomenal! Not only in this role but all the others I have seen him in on the Met stage (in Tosca, Aida). I would not hesitate to call him the best dramatic tenor today (very close to Piotr Bezcala who is also amazing!). His technique is superb and the volume and the power that he generates absolutely without effort is unreal!
Nice voice and finally someone with a classical technique reminiscent of Del Monaco, Corelli and others. His articulation is fantastic. Not sure about the burning hands though 😅

My exact experience with Jagde. Way better in person. Not perfect of course but sounds infinitely better in person.
He sounds good on my Dolby Atmos sound system.
