I spent most of my career in Special Forces and we did very little drill and ceremony. I have always enjoyed listening to soldiers call cadence, especially when the man out front (MFIC) knew what he was doing and had the voice to carry it.

Even in retirement, my wife will catch me calling cadences while we are doing cardio (run or even a fast walk). She’d ask “would you go back in?” And I tell her, “I loved and hated it. But yep, in a heartbeat!” 🫡

@@carloskeith3141 100% p/t here and i catch myself singing "i left my home" whenever im lost in thought lmao even though it cost me most of my mobility and caused me an endless agony that the VA wont give me anything good for i miss the army.

Thank you all for watching. If you’re new or unfamiliar with my content, I record military cadences by request of service members and veterans. My goals are to:
    1. Preserve History
    - By recording time-honored and beloved marching songs
    2. Inspire
    - Those who have lost their motivation or need to re-light the fire they had on day zero.
    3. Be a resource
    - For service members and military schools in need of call-and-response cadences for training.
    4. House homeless veterans
    - By donating a portion of proceeds toward organizations putting in the work to take care of our people.
-By raising awareness and bringing attention to the good work being done in our community.
Thank you for all your support through these last few years and I’m very excited to be able to bring you this newest volume.

That last line hit me hard. My mother was a soldier. She served in the Army National Guard for ten years and retired a year after I was born. I am grateful that she is still with me and my little sister. All I want to do is enlist in the Marines in a couple years when I graduate high school, and my little sister has expressed interest in joining the Air Force, even though she is starting out middle school this next school year.

Hits hard. My entire family is military, going back almost 1000yrs. I've seen too much family torn to pieces and then re-deploying or taking the Remington retirement plan because that's all they can do now. Combine that with the severely dark humor and the compounded ptsd that comes down through the years from being legacy.... I didn't know until I hit public school age that it's not normal for a child to know how to pop a shoulder back in. We've got a full out wall of folded flags at the house. Almost joined them myself. I'm out now, medical, fucking TBI that I still say I could have ignored. Can't seem to hold down a civilian job, aside from fire rescue which is seasonal here, currently looking for a new one but if you put military on your resume you won't get hired and if you don't they inevitably ask about the 10yr gap in your employment history.
