      Hey man,
I’m a student like you on target for 8s in both englishes. My tips would be three things-
      1. Attend regular helpdesks at school with your teacher, or hire a private tutor to help fill the gaps.
      2. Read some of the exemplar essays the exam board post, and read the examiner’s reports on them to see what the people who are getting better grades are doing differently to you, and right.
      3. Practice papers. What I’ve found is sometimes just writing as much as physically possible (even if perhaps the quality is a bit lower) is a good way to boost your OTFs. For example, you might remember in the literature paper there is a 20 marker at the start about an unseen poem. Last year, a student’s response to it was posted by the exam board for being ‘good but very short’. That answer was one and a half pages in half an hour. So just writing a lot can help you move up the grade boundaries.
This is just what is working for me so let me know when you read this and if you have any other questions. You got this bro

i don’t do psychology but for english lit quotes. put the keyword of a quote on one side of the flash card and the quote on the other. or if you don’t wanna do flash cards another way to memorise stuff is to remember the first letter of each word of each quote and match it up to the idek what i’m talking about anymore

i dont do psychology but for english lit personally i like to do mind maps for themes and characters and for learning quotes i use flash cards, i put the quotation on one side and then on the other i have the quote with the analysis so i can learn the analysis and the quote, sometimes i ask people to test me on them too but it also works if your on your own, i try to do minimum 7 quotes per character (try and keep them short) and for each theme minimum 10 quotes! for poems i do a mix of mind maps (i include the context of the poem, the structure and form, key themes and what other poems to compare it to on each of my poem mind maps) and i also use flashcards to learn the specific quotes and analysis for each of the quotes. hope this helps!!
