Excellent video, one of my absolute favorite candies. I'm so excited to try this recipe. Thank you for listing all the equipment you used. Very much appreciated 💕
No joke I've made it 5 times I know u mentioned an updated version but this on works fine ... I did incorporate different nuts Givin a different look but same great taste
These look delicious, and basically easy to make. Are these the kind of chewy that can pull someone’s crowns or fillings out? I’m at the age where I, and most of my friends, have a number of crowns! Thank you for this video. I love the way you explain everything!
Hi Laura, I just subscribed because of this chewy pecan recipe! I've been looking for this recipe for a long time. TFS, I just wish you would have tasted it for us. They looked and sounded like hard candy...??
Lydia Casares thank you for subscribing. No the candy is not hard at all, they are chewy. I love them, as a matter of fact I just made some yesterday. I hope you try them.
howdy frfom texas and im a bigggg fan of these ... and these look promising others ive tried had a different texture. it been awesome if you had pulled the pralines to really drive home the ohh soo ooey goodness !! but thats just me being picky ill diff try this
This is my favorite type of praline and I've been searching for a recipe for years now. So I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💝💝💝💝💝 Would you mind telling me whether you used light brown or dark brown sugar?
Laura hi. Thanks for this. I wanted to ask why you added the butter and the milk after boiling the sugars Instead of mixing it all together first. Do you ever coat them in dark chocolate to resemble pecan turtles?
Hello Eric. I have no reason why, I have tried it both ways, and I see no difference. I will be posting an updated version of this recipe very soon. Stay tuned. Thank you for watching.
I made theses and and they stay running and they stuck to the parchment paper . I allowed it to reach 245 so what did I do wrong? What kind of milk did you use or can you use?
Hello Sandra, I am sorry that happened to you. I used whole milk. When this happens you can return them to a pot and cook the longer. Just needs more heat. That should help.
@@VirtualkitchenwithLaura I watched the other video you did and realized I didn't cook it long enough. I will eat what I made with a spoon. It is delicious

Happy you liked them, thank you for watching.
Yummy!!
Thank you. Looks great!
They look beautiful! But why are some recipes saying to barely stir them or they get hard and not chewy?
Can I use walnuts instead of pecans. Thank you for this awesome vid
I think you can, but remember that walnuts are a bit bitter.

Hello Jason I have an updated video on Pralines. Go check it out. I think you might like that one.
I tried the recipe for your pecan chewy. They are hard. Can I melt them down and add more corn syrup butter and milk
Made them today! Came out great! Thanks for sharing this recipe. How long do they keep? Do you have to refrigerate?
I have kept them for 1 week. I do not place them in the frig.

I have a candy thermometer on my store list so I can make these. I'm curious why you use two of them. Thank hou
What kind of milk do I use ? I want to make 8 cups of pecans ?💜
You can use whole milk Arlene.
Add cinnamon also yummy
Oh yeah that would be good.

does humity play a part in mine not getting hard after an hour? they are just a chewy mess. otherwise, they look pretty.
Hello Gidget, they are not meant to be hard, they are chewies. You would have to cook the sugar longer to make them harder.
Can you use heavy whipping cream instead of milk?
Yes I have used cream, they turn out great very rich.
I did everything like you said, but mine is real runny. Is it regular milk or condensed milk
You can use either milk with these candies. The reason they are running is more likely, you did not hit the right temperature.
@@VirtualkitchenwithLaura I watched the other video you did and realized I didn't cook it long enough. I will eat what I made with a spoon. It is delicious
Steven you can always recook the candy it’ll melt and continue till you reach the temperature desired.

Without the caro syrup, it’s not chewy. It’s supposed to be more of a buttery texture that melts in your mouth.
I made these today 😢 idk what I did wrong. When they set they were so hard , why did this happen??? Help 😅
Hi Toni, I do believe you cooked it too long.
謝謝!
In the directions it does not say when to add the salt ?
You can add the salt in the beginning while it boils. I just made some today, they are delicious. Thanks for watching.
I can't find the recipe
Hello Jewel, it is in the description box below the title of the video.
Where is the recipe????
i enjoyed the video but was super disappointed you didn't break into one so we could see the texture at the end.
Don't worry Carrie I will be doing an updated version very soon. Thank you for watching.
