- Excerpt from the Armeefilmschau for the month of May, 1977.
This newsreel highlights the visit of high ranking Vietnamese military officials to the German Democratic Republic and various meetings with Volksarmee generals.
Vietnamese Hero General Vo Nguyen Giap.🇻🇳🇻🇳
Wow! The man who defeated France and America - General Giap - in GDR.
Interesting were the times when East Germany was not only close friends with Vietnam but provided significant military assistance.
The DDR was the good Germany. The world needs the DDR back.
Agreed. The current Germany is nothing else than an American/Zionist reactionary puppet state. I have come to believe that reunification of Germany was a terrible mistake.

I‘m calling it, this is going to be the most replayed part of the video xD
general giap great soldier; 3 wars 3 victories
They had a "special relationship".
Glory to GDR!
The good old days
Thank you for this valuable documentary. Love from Vietnam
As a Vietnamese 🇻🇳
Vo Nguyen Giap
Glad you enjoyed the video! The Vietnamese had a good relationship with the GDR!
@@MaximusandHistory
Yes, GDR and the Socialist bloc helped us a lot
@@MaximusandHistory
What do you think about Vietnam today? You are American ?
@@BinhNguyen-uw1tc I don't really pay too much attention to the affairs of Vietnam but I have met many Vietnamese people. I am Russian-American!
@@MaximusandHistory
What is your opinion on the war between Russia and Ukraine? Is there really " demilitarization , de-fascistization of Ukraine "?
Красавчики, слов нет! Видно конкретно, что это встреча настоящих мужчин и друзей.
4:00 the Vietnamese general stand next to Vo Nguyen Giap is Le Trong Tan, also a famous PAVN's commander
Wow, this footage is so cool!
I'm so glad you were able to obtain it!
Thank you for purchasing it!
Interesting version of “Rote Flieger” starting at 1:47, I wonder if there is a standalone recording anywhere…
It's originally the Soviet "Aviators March" 😄
@@MaximusandHistory Of course it is the famous “Авиамарш”, But I have a feeling this was played by a German band hence the name use.
@@spicy_dogs9061 Oh most definitely! You can hear that East German orchestration, its so much more melodic than march-like with the lack of bass.
…General von Giap “ One ☝🏻 of the Greatest Generals the World ever produced, at the age of 27 he developed the strategy to defeat the French Colonialists at greatest battle of “Dien Bienh Phu where thousands of French Soldiers were annihilated and thousands bogged down in 1954”…🇩🇪🇷🇺🇻🇳🇻🇳🇷🇺🇩🇪
Why 27 ?
Greetings from Vietnam! 🇻🇳🇻🇳
We always proud of the Red Napoleon - Army General Vo Nguyen Giap
general Giap, the chief organizer of the defeat of the United States in Vietnam, which I must admit, even as an American, with some actual respect.
Good old days with Viet Nam - East Germany
Great content! The world sure has changed. . .
It is always great to see genuine international cooperation.
The Vietnamese saw off the biggest army in the world.
Its ironic, both the USSR and the USA suffered heavily in their wars against Afghanistan & Vietnam. Superpowers often underestimate the will of the people to defend their homeland.
@@MaximusandHistory
Yes :)
China is also like USSR and USA in Vietnam
На видео все люди неимоверно позитивные и добрые.
General Vo Nguyen Giap and Lieutanant General Le Trong Tan. Nice, two war heroes
0:57 OMG that caught me off guard that's about the last thing I expected in a East German Army greeting ceremony
What. Did not notice.
@@carlosmpsenyorcapitacollon6977 I don't know maybe the hugs and the kisses
To this day, we East Germans are quite fond of the Vietnamese and their descendants here. They are known as polite, adherent to the law, hard working and willing to integrate, unlike certain other peoples.
Even my somewhat racist father-in-law has *nothing but good* to say about the Vietnamese.
Literally the only "Friedrich under 40 I ever met was a son of a Vietnamese family.
That said, I have a feeling that the visiting Officers might be somewhat uncomfortable about the socialist hugs and kisses that are common among euro-commies. Culture shock.
Remember HANOI---HILTON!!!
The NVA visits NVA
👍
No colour film back in 1977?
There was, but it was more expensive to use. The GDR had color film back in 1956!
NVA and NVA
East Germany fell apart, Vietnam is strong now
Achhhhh schene
Sounds like the Nazi Newsreels but without so much paranoia and chauvinism or hate. In a good way.
1:10 Fanfarengruß
Paskas! Scheiße! Shit! Slava YKPAÏHI
What does this have to do with the video?
???
