In a speech delivered in Berlin, October 24, 1933, Hitler stated: "We were convinced that the people needs and requires this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out."
Here's a quote from Hitler... "The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and co-operation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life."
Another quote from Hitler... "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."
I'll give him credit though, I definitely agree that it probably never even occurred to scientists like Galileo that there might be a conflict between science and religion. -_-
@DavidAlanRogers That's not at all what I mean. I am commanded to love my enemies. I am commanded to want the best for people that hate me. How on earth is it love to seek someone's demise?!
Dinesh D Souza Speaks with clarity, he explain things in a way that could be understand by ordinary laymen. Hitchens on the other hand mostly speaks with pure assumptions and mostly with ridicule. In short you discern the moral reasoning on Dinesh D Souza while Hitchens reasoning don't have. What Hitchens have are grievances and ridicule.
@WellHowdyDew no. but he had a faith base to his certain belief system in which he incorporated into nazism. Hitler never said he did any of the things he did because he was an atheist...or because he was against religion. Stalin and other communists despised religion and wanted to abolish it. and D souza put hitler in that group as do many other creationists. Hitler maybe wasnt a "christian", but he did establish a church of Nazi germany, the troops prayed for him.
"laws of the universe are never suspended". Jesus healed the blind, the deaf, those with leprosy, he raised the dead, he himself rose from the dead. Elijah brought a dead child back to life. 2Ki 20:11 The sun went backwards ten degrees at the request of Isaiah the prophet. 1Ki 17:6 raven brought food to Elijah every morning and evening. What do you call all that if is not "suspending the natural laws of the universe?"
38:00 Is there anything forbidden for those that have God on their side? Hmm... How about Jesus? Yes. Love your enemies. I wonder, is there any reason to justify anything with the atheistic world view? It all comes out in the wash, when the universe dies out.
Jesus did not die as a substitute - instead of us - he died as sinless representative of the human race. If he died as a substitute for us, then there would be no need for us to die, because he paid our debt for us. But that is not how the Atonement works. But Mr Hitchens obviously does not know this!
D'Souza, D'Souza, D'Souza...to say that the current atheist movement is "militant" and to think it odd that there is opposition to religion is to entirely miss what militant really means. Is atheism militant compared to the militant religious suicide bombers? Ridiculous.
Dinesh D Souza surprised me He's outstanding.

The most burdensome was that no one snatched the microphone out of that Kylie person.

Does not matter if he was christian, muslim, atheist or buddhist. He never did it in any of those names.

a let the baby have his bottle... he only helps illustrate Hitch's points.
Check out the 24th of the 25 points of Hitlers Nazi party.

Do you honestly think he was actually religious?? If he was a true religious man he wouldnt have broken the 6th Commandment
48:00 The problem isn't who killed more in less time... Stop the murder in the name of god or atheism
I have the first comment! Hurray!
