The old man is in excellent shape, the prayers reveal virtuous character that is needed. With all those tall guys around you have to watch your head! Time spent with your brothers and your father are priceless. You are blessed to come from such a family. Your finest video yet.
I wish for the world Father's that pray over their familes like your Father does. His love for all of you is the most gentle of all whispers in his prayers. Simply beautiful!!
thank you Martijn for letting us be a part of your family life this week and sharing them with us again - you, your father, and brothers got so much work done, the land is so beautiful - God Bless you and your family always -
Such a beautiful week with this family praying, eating, working and enjoying the company of one another. Brought tears to my eyes. What's better than a Sunday with Martijn? Four Doolaards.
Hearing your dad pray, to the same Jesus I pray to, but in his stout Dutch voice, almost brought tears to my 73 year old eyes…..I called my husband in to listen, he’s been a pastor since he was 19 years old. And we are the same age, and have been married for 53 years. That prayer blessed my heart and I just wanted to tell you and your Dad so.We are parents to 4 daughters and we know how firm Christian family connections are so important to us but also as a light to others around the world. I’ve been watching you for years. May God bless your way!🙏
It brought tears to my eyes as well, even though I am not a christian in any sense, It was just... beautiful, and reminded me of my childhood and our Dutch culture, in a way, The sincerity and the reference to those who were not there was very impressive.
A very talented, Skilled family looks like they had a lot of fun, good food, joking and a lot of work done… and the older brother scrutinizing and fixing things . I did notice a distinct lack of chocolate after dinner, though ?
A story of positive male role models, brotherhood, fatherhood. Your family is lucky to have this experience, where many others around us do not. Cherish these moments.

I'm in love with a man and his family and I've never met them. One can feel the love between them and see the great work ethic they all have. Thank you Martijn for a beautiful video this Sunday.
I love this video of family! Your dear father sharpening the Scythe just like my dad use to on our Ohio, USA farm almost 100 years ago! I am 91 years and just to see them coming and helping you ! I will hope your momma comes again this year to make another apple pie for you! See how people prosper when they follow Gods Word to work and earn your own bread!
@UCE9XJ5V2clHWOGkQSqOSmFg Really? I wrote to you a few times once about the “classy “ chicken house. You wrote and told me to be careful who I write too ! So I am, .
So lovely to see the men of the family working, hiking, cooking together, sitting down to eat with the sound of Father saying grace. Such a wonderful feeling of peace, even with the wood chipper going full tilt, Father cutting grass with the scythe and brothers busy building the green house. A man and his chickens! Gosh, I love your videos! Sunday just wouldn't be the same without them! Thanks for sharing, see you next week! Until then, peace, joy and safety. Love from Grayslake, Illinois, USA 🤗💕💕
(From Quebec, Canada) Dear Martin (french version) it was so nice to see you with your brothers and dad praying together and sharing meals. I can more understand your background and respect for life. A simple man with inner peace who take the time to live with nature and hard work. No bling bling, not looking for artificial fantasy, just beautiful simple life. So nice. It was a gift to me what you shared in that video. Thank you ❤
Martijn, what a grand video. Your Dad is without doubt SPECIAL. Nice to see everyone lending a helping family hand. Thank you for showing your father saying grace before eating. The internet needs to see more of this Christian custom. HE, God, is after all, the creator and author of all that is good. With that in mind, perhaps one could lose the hat out of respect.
That’s how I visualize perfect life: Kreative working outside in the beautiful nature with the people I love, chicken walking around my feet and delicious food prepared on an open fire, eaten outside with a view of the mountains 🦚
One Doolaard, working steadily, can accomplish a lot, but a family of Doolaards, working together, will accomplish a miraculous amount in a very short time. The food was also next-level! Such a beautiful time of the year, so it was great you were able to share it with your Dad and brothers.
Wow, a man who can still handle a scythe. I can remember my youth in Münsterland where 10 men went into the corn with scythes and women behind them bundled sheaves from the stalks. I'll never forget the smell, the atmosphere and the cheerfulness at work. It's been a long time.
Using a scythe is a wonderful traditional skill and scything on Wildlife Trust meadows is growing apace in the UK. It's quiet, very efficient and doesn't require fuel - apart from tea and cake!
This reminds me of my childhood in Norway. I learned early to cut grass like this at home and during my summer vacations we visited my father's uncle up in his mountain farm to help him cut grass and hang it up on lines to dry so he had hay for his animals through the winter. Some of my greatest memories.... ❤
I used a schyte with my grandfather a few kilometers upstream from Pajala by the Torneå river in north Sweden in my youth in the 90's; we cut the meadow down slope from his old farmhouse now and then. Wonderful memories.
Watching Martijn's father swing the scythe reminded me of my Daddy doing the same. He would clear out a little more land every year so he could mow and make our little yard a little bigger. That was 75 years ago. I didn't know men did this kind of work any more.
This was dfinitely one of the best videos. Pure joy to see you laughing and joking with your brothers. The loving bond that unites you all was palpable at every moment! And boy, did you get a lot of work done! I just couldn´t believe how much your father worked . You obviously inherited his stamina and thorough, precise way of working from him. They were 43 mins of sheer pleasure, and today more than other days, the video ended far too soon. Thanks for yet another peaceful moment on a Sunday afternoon.
At the moment I heard (in another episode) Martijn say "hello ladies" to the chics, I said to myself "he will fall in love with them". Now, at 9:20 my heart melted as he held White and stroked her feathers LOL I feel like they make the perfect companions for Martijn there in his slice of paradise!!!
I love his relationship with his chicks, they are his pets. However I think he should get a little cat.. The cat can be a nice friend and company in the winter and also on rainy days. Plus the cat will keep rats away.. Start with the cat before thinking of goats!
Muchas gracias
I really didn’t want this episode to end. It's a blessing to have such support. God bless your family, especially your father. His prayer unites and encourages you. And he also has a great sense of humor. It was a bit sad at the end when everyone left. Thank you very much for the episode!
No doubt, one of the most beautiful prayers I have ever heard. So simple, but sincere and truly from his heart. God has to look down a smile. You are so blessed to have a Godly father like this man. For a few minutes, all seemed right in the world.
I just love when Martijn's family visits. Dad and the gardening, Siebren seems to be the consummate chef and Cees-Jan built a wonderful greenhouse. I especially loved the dispute over who was sitting where...brothers. Lol! Great video.
@_Te.xt_Mr_Martijn_Doolaard. hei Martin! Your way of living moves me, and i remember my childhood on the farm after the war . Everything we did had a purpous, we worked to get food on the table. We follow the years rythm, and it was satisfyed to look around , the life of Everything in nature spoke, like I see in your sunday pictures. We felt conected to «life» and that is lacking for many in our time. You make us remember whats important.
Everyone in your family helping out and doing their own thing and isn’t that nice to see. You must appreciated that so much! A great BBQ tip! slice potato not completely thru & then into the cuts stuff with sliced onions. Add rosemary/dill/lemon slice to the bottom of the foil with a pad of butter on top & then place the potato on top & roll the potato up in the foil. I double the foil. Into the fire it goes!
It was really nice seeing your family again helping out and enjoying each other's company. Seeing yall going after the seat I bet felt like it did in yalls younger years lol. The greenhouse is gonna be really nice Martijn I see alot of thing's grown there. Take care man and I'll see you next week. 👍
Oh my. What a divine episode. Just gentle. Gentle relationships in the family. Gentle cooking. Gentle grass cutting. Gentle greenhouse building. And gentle stroking of the white chicken. The Dutch are like this. They live well. They live cautiously and with appreciation. Are a stoic nation. Just a beautiful episode. Its calming. Thank you Martijn. From Australia's Gold Coast .....
Yes my thoughts as well, if my family came to help, no lost love we are close in that regard; what is it with family! Its wonderful when it happens, we love to see life engaged, its beautiful to see, thanks.
Martijn’s videos always make me feel better, but there’s a little more to it. They must calm my very being. I was prepping some food for tonight’s dinner after watching and I noticed I was moving more slowly and with greater attention. Perhaps it’s called being intentional. To slow down and actually enjoy the effort in and of itself is a wonderful thing.
A beautiful prayer ... so unusual to see a family praying together these days. Remembering those not with you, and giving thanks. The hike - extraordinary scenery, the trees, mountain, green valley with river, it took my breath away. So much like Switzerland ... Still a lot of moisture around in the clouds. Take care, especially of your dad. Warmest wishes 🙂♥♥♥
It is so AWESOME and BLESSED to observe how a God fearing Father and his three gifted & talented son's labor together in Father God's wonderfully and fearfully made creation that is soooooooo BEAUTIFUL. Thank you, Jesus 😍! Much love. Until next week xxx
My family is from Nederland. My mother and sister were born in Delft, my brother in Rotterdam. My father was born in Jakarta. He just passed away in October 2023 at the age of 95. My family came to the US in 1957. (I was born in the U.S. ) Hearing everyone speak Dutch brings back memories of our visits back to our ancestral homeland. 😊 thank you for sharing this precious family time with us ❤
So beautiful! Thankyou for sharing with English captions. Your father's prayer was quite touching. The gratitude and affection he expressed in his prayer touched my heart as well as his love for nature and growing things. Beautiful!
so lovely to witness your family there beside you mucking in and enjoying the beauty and workmanship of your place! Must have been a really good time! Don't get goats!! they are such hard work and take A LOT of looking after or they can be very destructive!! They are wonderfully curious and intelligent animals with lots of character but they are also a force to be reckoned with and a great way to use up time, energy, money, and resources in general...borrow some by all means but I would avoid getting your own...we have goats and are in the process of selling them as we need to focus on our renovations and they take so much time and energy to look after properly...they have quite complex needs that folk don't realise...Just my opinion obvs...
So good to see a family who still prays together. No doubt Martjin gets his calm and quiet demeanor from his faith and it shows. Thank you for boldly sharing this
Seems that I hear more flies/bees/insects or whatever they are buzzing around this year than in previous summer videos...I wonder how bad the mosquitos are up there at those altitudes? Oh, and it was so nice to hear the meal blessing prayer in Dutch!
Martin, I have washed you from the beginning and I am in all of all that you know and your hard work ethics. Watching today you with your family it shows where it all comes from seeing you around the table and your dad in prayer giving thanks and asking for the Lords protection made my heart swell, may God be with you always
I know you’ll probably never see this but thank you for sharing a moment in your life with your family! It’s always a pleasure we see where the good work ethic comes from and your kindness of spirit. I pray your family as well that was left behind and continued blessings to you and your family.
Heavenly amazing landscapes,breathtaking....l felt like in heaven listening to the birds ,the sounds of nature, the wind.....Precious treasures!!!! When l started to watch the video, after 29 minutes from posting in...there were already more than 10.000 views....when l finished....18.000....l was impressed how quick the connection with all of you spread again😊 and thanks to Martijn we enjoyed again a beautiful moment in time....I like a lot when Martijn is talking to us on the camera, gives so much closure, like is there nearby...Blessings to all of you, wherever you are.....🙏🙏🙏
What a wonderful family you have Martijn. The homestead is looking marvelous. Your younger brother makes great food. 🥙🍗. Your older brother is a talented carpenter, and your father worked so hard with the landscaping. 🌳🌿☘️. Also, my wife and I loved your father’s gracious prayer. 🙏. Looking forward to seeing the greenhouse progress next week.
A first thing made was the table, benches, and fire pit. Turns out to be beautiful focal point in today's narrative. Praise God for the mountain greenery and the fine photography of insects busy with their miniature lives. Altogether a wonderful video.
One of the best episodes (and i watched all of them) imo. Beautiful connection in your family, 4 humble guys and a very proud father. Look at his face!!
How very nice for your Dad to be there with his 3 handsome, kind, solid boys--a lovely family. It is Father’s Day today here in USA-how appropriate for all of you. Best Wishes from Washington State..
Great family reunion. It's interesting the dynamics - pops on the grass, tree trimming, wood chipping, one brother on the food, another brother on the greenhouse. Yiur dad has some sense of humor. Enjoyed the hike to the base of the mountain glacier and the excursion to the stream/river. Is it too cold to take a dip or swim? The shot of the late sun blasting through the clouds was something to enjoy.
Martijn I have been following your channel since the start....I can't express how much I have enjoyed watching every video you produce each week ...it is like a rejuvenating day at the spa. I have spent many years climbing Via Ferratas in the Dolomites, so Italy holds a special place in my heart. I love what you accomplish week to week whether great or small....collecting eggs to learning about gathering herbs/plants from locals to installing a new shower. All of it is amazing and inspiring. I will continue to watch for as long as you post. Signed, a Canadian fan
Martin's dad is certainly a hard worker. Maybe the neighbors can bring goats to your property to graise on the weeds. Great video. Please keep them coming.
This was delightful to see men, family, working together. Masculinity at its best. Love that your father gives honor to God and prays with his sons and over his family. You must miss them. I hope they come back soon.
I can see you got your work ethic from your father. What a great example he set for your family. When he said the prayer before your meal, I was moved to tears. You are so very blessed to have such a close and loving family. 🙏🏻🌻💕
I really do enjoy your program. I’m gonna be so heartbroken when it’s finally done, but hey, you’ve given me something to look at every Sunday you’re doing a really good job. It’s a different kind of world I live in, however it’ll be nice when one day we all get to live that way, you enjoy the rest of your week. And I’ll see you next week.😉
Ik val in herhaling. Maar o, mijn hart, werd echt bewogen toen je vader God de eer en de dank gaf voor alle goeds, de familie, de schitterende natuur, alles, zo ontroerend ..
Incredible early Father's Day gift! How incredibly proud Pater Doolaard must be of all of his handsome, hard-working, pious sons! I cried all the way through this episode and took note of this episode to remember it.
@@kattihatt It appears it's you who has bought into the lie that this temporal life of concrete and steel, of time and space, is all there is. You are like one caught in Plato's cave, believing only in what they are told, breathing in only what they can perceive with their sense experience, knowing nothing of the fresh air and sunlight that lies outside the cave. It seems perhaps because time has elapsed that you think you have progressed beyond such "primitive" thoughts of God and a boundless eternity. I assure you, thinking thusly will restrain you from being fully human. But I'll pray for you.
When your father prays in Jesus name. That’s his greatest gift to you dear Martijn . Loved this video so much. It’s sweet to see nature through your eyes.
A heartfelt, grateful, loving, thoughtful and humble prayer is as powerful than the energy of the sun and ocean. This strong spiritual bond between your lovely family is clearly evident and inspiring.
Hello, Martijn, Dad, Cees-Jan and Siebren! So nice to see some of the family, and all of the work you are accomplishing together! I guess we all know where you boys all get your amazing work ethic-- Dad is just incredible, hauling brush, cutting trees, and of course cutting the grass! 😉🥰👍How wonderful to have such help with all of your projects.
I don't know about anything else but again and again I will mention..... This place I don't have to be there... I would never be able to be there anyway😂 but just the place itself it brings me soooo much Peace.... Seeing you with your family around I can see you all really happy.... Your father each time he come he helps with clearing out the weeds ❤... Wishing him a long and healthy life...
The road trip was incredible! Sometimes I forgot how vast the area is. Beautiful family. You'll miss them in more ways than one. As they say many hands make light work.
Martijn, you captured the beauty of your family, working, eating and just being together so well. Every episode is much like the prayer your father gave at one breakfast meal - spiritual and grateful, full of grace for all that is around you. Thank you for sharing that with us every week. Cheers
What a lovely video this week - so nice to see you enjoying your family. All boys together - hope your lady family members are not envious ! That trip to the river was beautiful, and there seems to be no end to how gorgeous this Italian area is ! You boys do a lot of cooking I have to say - I am not a great cook & you make me feel quite guilty, but I do not think that is going to get much improvement in my old age so i will not punish myself too much ! A great lifestyle in the mountains, and we are all envious ! Keep well !
Hello Martijn, just as all of your videos are something very special, your video today impressed me even more. But how much more fascinated should your father and brothers, in addition to their impressive help, be to experience this fantastic nature and the refuge you have painstakingly created yourself up close... unlike your mother, of course (she was delighted with your cozy tablecloth) and unlike thousands of your video viewers. I have been one of them since the beginning and I look forward to every new Sunday video from you. Also because I also live in a very rural area for about 4-5 months a year - actually not far from you in the French Alpes-Maritimes not far from the Italian border - where the landscape is similar to yours. My very spontaneous decision more than 25 years ago was, perhaps like yours, "love at first sight", and I have not regretted it to this day. your greenhouse is already taking shape and I hope that many useful things will grow and thrive in it even this summer. All the best to you ... with a little less rain than this spring. Best wishes, Horst
How wonderful for all of you boys to be spending time up there together; working, exploring and sharing meals and companionship. Everything is looking so beautiful, you should be very proud of your accomplishments. I loved the ruins you visited. I like to think what life must have been like when it was inhabited with people. Very beautiful up there this time of the year. Much gentler. 🌸🌿
10:54 How lovely to hear someone saying Grace so genuinely and isn’t it wonderful to see and hear Gods creation ? I sound all religious … I lost my way as a Christian but seeing and hearing this is one of those many moments where I am reminded of such goodness… thanks for sharing your family with us Martijn ❤

It’s always so beautiful when Martijn’s family visits. The love of the family comes through in his father’s prayer.
I was deeply touched by His Father's prayer~Heartfelt Love
Such a beautiful week with this family praying, eating, working and enjoying the company of one another. Brought tears to my eyes. What's better than a Sunday with Martijn? Four Doolaards.

How many of us knew Martjin's Dad was going to be cutting grass? He always finds grass to cut, love it!!♥️
And with a scythe, no less!
Martjin's Dad is the grass cutting man. Great to see a family working so well together. Alot got accomplished. Great job guys!

The footage of him cutting grass was so old school and artistic!
Wow! With a scythe no less! Bravo! Northern Italians still use this tool, a good rhythm and a sharp blade are needed!

One of the great joys and blessings is working with family, thank you for letting me be part of your family today
thank you for sharing
As someone who doesn't practice faith, I have to say, I found your father's blessing of the meal quite lovely.
What strength there is in a family where men bow their heads and are grateful for the food and surroundings.
Kudos to the youngest Doolaard for cooking amazing dishes!
He must be a three star chef somewhere.

@OfficialMartijnDoolaardrr It is the highlight of my Sunday when a new video drops.
What a lovely prayer. This put a smile on my face. Four men under God. A peaceful breakfast with à beautiful life setting, indeed!
And didn't that prayer go straight to Heaven - absolutely nothing between him and God. I loved it.
Another smashing episode! As a born again Christian, I appreciate you praying before your meal and acknowledging Jesus Christ.

Martijn, you are your father’s son. Giving thanks to the Lord made me so happy 🙏🏼🦋🐝🌸
Dad must be so happy and proud about his fine sons, good job, Dad.
And lovely to see a family acknowledging God giving Him thanks.
Amen! I hope you all have children. We need more of you in this world.
I agree😊
I just love when Martijn's family visits. Dad and the gardening, Siebren seems to be the consummate chef and Cees-Jan built a wonderful greenhouse. I especially loved the dispute over who was sitting where...brothers. Lol! Great video.
Amen on a family that prays together, stays together.
Your family is very special, Martijn.
It has nothing to do with eachothers.
My tears came with your father’s sweet prayer. Thank you for sharing. A beautiful reminder of our blessings from our creator.
Please press the like button for Martijn.😁
Yes, it was a good week, Martin!👏🇳🇴👏
@_Te.xt_Mr_Martijn_Doolaard. hei Martin! Your way of living moves me, and i remember my childhood on the farm after the war . Everything we did had a purpous, we worked to get food on the table. We follow the years rythm, and it was satisfyed to look around , the life of Everything in nature spoke, like I see in your sunday pictures. We felt conected to «life» and that is lacking for many in our time. You make us remember whats important.
You are truly loved by all of us…around the world!
So true !!!💙💙
Everyone in your family helping out and doing their own thing and isn’t that nice to see. You must appreciated that so much! A great BBQ tip!
slice potato not completely thru & then into the cuts stuff with sliced onions. Add rosemary/dill/lemon slice to the bottom of the foil with a pad of butter on top & then place the potato on top & roll the potato up in the foil. I double the foil. Into the fire it goes!
😋
Having family help is so wonderful! If my brothers came to help me, I would fall over from the shock.
I hear you! And it all started at conception...
Yes my thoughts as well, if my family came to help, no lost love we are close in that regard; what is it with family! Its wonderful when it happens, we love to see life engaged, its beautiful to see, thanks.
Your probably not European
Always a special episode when Dad Doolaard prays❤
Being perfectionist is in your genes, everyone doing their job so very normally in perfect ways 😅
Thank you for boldly sharing this
Sorry I misspelled your name, it’s Martijn.
I love that the food is always so fresh and the men know how to cook.
you are a good son... you left him the bed downstairs😄
Beautiful Family, and so lovingly included in His Prayer for 'Mom' and others that were not there ~ Cherished Moments~~💚💛💙
I like how you respectfully let your Father stay in the cabin. Your good son. 🤠
Ja wirklich
Your father acknowledging God was the highlight for me. You and your family are truly blessed to have each other.💖
Seems that I hear more flies/bees/insects or whatever they are buzzing around this year than in previous summer videos...I wonder how bad the mosquitos are up there at those altitudes? Oh, and it was so nice to hear the meal blessing prayer in Dutch!
We love your family Martin and the loving unity and support that you feel for each other. Thank you so much for sharing with the world.
Seeing you saying "see you next week" makes me miss you, and look forward to another Sunday again..
Love it when Martin’s family visit. What a wonderful loving family they are. God bless them.
Mr Doolard raised some strong, good men. Excellent work sir!
As did Mrs. Doolard. Incredible parenting by Mom and Dad very evident. Imagine 4 boys running around!
How very nice for your Dad to be there with his 3 handsome, kind, solid boys--a lovely family. It is Father’s Day today here in USA-how appropriate for all of you. Best Wishes from Washington State..
Father’s Day is next week, June 16th, in the U.S. it is also Father’s Day in the UK. Not today.
@@hrussell9677everyday is Father’s Day.
I was a whole week ahead of myself too.😂
Next week is father's day.
Just so lovely to see such a close family and to hear your Father pray over the food. So rare these days. Thank you Martijn for another great visedo.
Martijn I have been following your channel since the start....I can't express how much I have enjoyed watching every video you produce each week
...it is like a rejuvenating day at the spa.
Done with love. Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing this intimate part of your lives. ~ Mrs. C.
One of the most beautiful episodes you ever made!
So beautiful to see you pray together, I am French and it is something we don't see here very often, God bless you. You are wonderful people.
Many people are leaving those fantasies.
@@kattihatt It appears it's you who has bought into the lie that this temporal life of concrete and steel, of time and space, is all there is.
You are like one caught in Plato's cave, believing only in what they are told, breathing in only what they can perceive with their sense experience,
knowing nothing of the fresh air and sunlight that lies outside the cave. It seems perhaps because time has elapsed that you think you have progressed beyond
such "primitive" thoughts of God and a boundless eternity.
This means so much..I felt like there was Jesus present everytime I watched..so grateful for that powerful prayer
I can feel the state of glory in your voice. Yes, family is the most precious asset.
Cheers
You and that white hen just crack me up!😂 You two are so cute together.
Your father’s prayer was so beautiful and heartfelt. He is such a treasure. ☺️
What an amazing family, loved the brothers squabbling over the seating position.🤣🤣
Keep well !
I love your dad's blessing for being together and enjoying nature in Jesus name. 🥰🙏🙏🙏
This the most wholesome episode so far. And I watched 116 of them!
Hello Martijn,
just as all of your videos are something very special, your video today impressed me even more.
My very spontaneous decision more than 25 years ago was, perhaps like yours, "love at first sight", and I have not regretted it to this day. your greenhouse is already taking shape and
I hope that many useful things will grow and thrive in it even this summer.
All the best to you ... with a little less rain than this spring.
Best wishes,
Horst
Wonderful to have family visit and to help around the place. The stunning views of the glazier etc is amazing. Your place is looking great.
I love watching you with your family, beautifu.
No matter how much you love a place, once the people you love have been there and imprinted, you miss them more and love your place more.
This beautiful and so true. ❤
Jesus is paitient and He loves you so much. He is only a prayer away 🙏
