I'm doing something very similar and using many of the same resources. My oldest did AO Y1 last year. This year my second child is starting formal lessons so I decided to combine them for history. I'm using Veritas Press history timeless cards, Old Testament to Ancient Egypt and selecting my own books from the book list All Through the Ages. I'm following AO for literature and riches, however we're only doing one artist and composer instead of 3 of each. This helps me simplify and really get to know an artist and composer. Oh, we're doing the same thing for poetry. Focusing on Walter de la Mare. I'm also using resources from SCM. My plan is to keep all my kids (5 total) together for content areas until they get to AO year 7. Then they'll be in their own year. We'll see how it goes this year if this plan will work 😂. Your school year sounds lovely! I liked how you're slowing down with spanish. I think I'll do the same. Thanks for sharing!
Love this feedback!! Yes! It's so wonderful we can make it our own 😍 our first few years we only did one enrichment per year too! Just last year we went to per term swap! Great either way!
Hi Hannah, here's a spelling and word study option that I'm sure you and your subscribers would enjoy: 180 Days of Spelling and Word Study! As the writer of this workbook series for students in grades K-6, I'm very excited to announce that I'm now posting free "kick-off" lessons for each unit on my RUclips channel: www.youtube.com/@Mrs.Rhoades These short, interactive videos introduce the spelling patterns and provide kid-friendly definitions for each word. I hope you like them!
