I think it's time that MSIL also offer an AT variant with CNG. I drive and older Ertiga AT with retro fitted CNG and it's a boon in city. You get convenience of AT as well as economy on CNG.

Is smart hybrid a failure in CNG fueled Ertiga? In general will Turbo work with CNG fuelled engines and will ertiga performe more efficient with Turbo combination of CNG+Smart Hybrid !
Its very good efficiency , ertiga on average 20 km per litre. The petrol price is 110₹ around . Cost per km is 110/5 is 5.5 whereas the cng cost per km autocar mentioned is 3.4/km. It is almost 60 percent more efficient than petrol

It is more of a engineering bottleneck and cost as well.. The automatic transmission changes gears based of torque and power.. But in this car you will have different torque and power figures between petrol and CNG and hence designing a auto transmission will be complex and costly.

Compare to battery vehicle, it's safe & wc economical.
Battery price for ev cars is around 10lacs
MS should stop sporting puny 15" tyres, at least give 16".
They should also work on AMT & offering cruise control.
