Potentially helpful tip: a few years back we had to set up a new drainage system for the pool and it went right through my garden, fortunately avoiding the beds, and Hügel mounds. End result: the workers dug out and mixed tonnes of clay and bedrock, and really wrecked the topsoil all along the new sewage line, despite us asking them to reuse this topsoil to close the trench up. It's gonna take a long time to recover. So I strongly recommend that you do it yourself. Make sure you know exactly where they are going through and then find a spot in your garden where you can make pile with this topsoil. Hummus is gold, and it takes a lot of time to recover after intensive damage. Good luck with all this! it's not enjoyable to see the earth ripped open in your backyard. Great videos, great channel. Much love and respect.

Thank you, I’m chuffed you like the channel! I’m sorry to hear that happened with your garden area and thanks for the tip! Topsoil is a precious resource. I’m pretty sure that all of the digging will be in the easement area, which is outside of our yard. But with all the heavy equipment they’ll be using, the soil IN our yard is going to get severely compacted and they’ll be piling soil everywhere. I’ve heard they are going to be “re-seeding” the entire easement area to re-establish the grass. All I can say is, the proof will be in the pudding once they actually get started. Should be fun! Thanks for watching and happy gardening!

You could pot up your bare root trees from the Arbor Day Foundation, and grow them out until the sewer project is done. They won't mind one bit.

Great idea! We may only have room for 2 or 3 and I’ll give the rest away.

A few cases of beer could lean the lads in your favour. It works in Australia.
