This car excels at delivering the power/torque at any time and at any speed. The hybrid drivetrain is really smooth and it feels way faster than it actually is.
To respond to the many "its so slow". I've been driving these cars - the lexus hybrids, both the GS, IS and RX. It does not make the car justice to look at it on paper - not even on video. Yes! it is not fast, but i wouldn't call it slow. The way these hybrid cars pull is not like an electric car, not like a diesel car, not like a supercar. But maybe something in between. The pull and feel these cars gives, is powerfull and smooth like combining a diesel suv and a electric car. I really like the RX hybrids - one of my top 5 cars. A brilliant cruiser with a great build quality.
thats exactly why i felt in love after a few minutes of driving ....my RX450h smoke on autobahn many of our german SUV with big exhaust pipes when accelerate perhaps from 140 up to the limiter (215km/h).But its not made for such nonsense and therefore 140-160km/h max. is enough. But i noticed that car is even with over 200km/h completely relaxing and quiet ....ReLexus !!
It is supposed to be a whole second faster than this... According to other channels it accelerates to 100 in the low 7s. I think the battery is drained
All performance testing is done behind-the-scenes with a Vbox. We try all modes, don't worry. The video footage is purely a demo, and the figures shown are our best result.
Even the X5 25d is as fast as this thing and it only has a 2-liter diesel engine. Also, the 8-speed gearbox by ZF is, according to various journalists, one of the smoothest boxes out there.
Its not been tested properly. Alex on Autos got 6.4s out of it. Didnt brake torque it or anything - just mashed his foot to the floor which means the engine isn't started - car wasnt even in Sport!
@@PDriveTV That's good but it doesn't change the fact that you didn't show what the car is really capable of. The display clearly shows it's in eco mode, in sport mode it changes to a rev counter and throttle response is much more aggressive. Also, in sport mode you can hold down the brake and accelerator at the same time. Give the engine two seconds to rev up and then let go of the brake.
@@JC130676 Mate, we have the car for a week. We do heaps of testing off camera. Why wouldn't we? We have been doing this now for almost 10 years. It's simply easier for us to video once, then Vbox test separately. And yes, throttle response is sharper in sport mode. But full throttle is full throttle, regardless of the mode. Over the years of testing (around 1000 different new vehicles) we have noticed it makes absolutely no difference to 0-100 times. If it was a race where you could only use half throttle, then sport mode would be quicker as the throttle butterfly is further open. But again, full throttle in any mode is full throttle. The butterfly is wide open. Hope you can understand that.
@@PDriveTV Hey relax, I'm not criticising but I have over a decade of experience driving Toyota and Lexus hybrids every day. You learn to notice the subtle differences in a way that's just not possible in two weeks. Let me tell you why switching to sport mode DOES make a difference: 1. The engine will rev up to max RPM quicker, in eco mode it takes about a quarter to half a second longer. 2. The engine will switch from Atkinson cycle to Otto cycle sooner 3. The planetary gearbox will be set to a slightly different ratio 4. Depending on the vehicle, the suspension may be stiffened so you lose less energy in spring compression. 5. As I already said, you have a kind of launch control in sport mode where the engine already revs up so you get more power straight away. And you also know that TRC is never really completely off, right? I have a suspicion that in sport mode TRC will allow more wheel spin before re-engaging but I've not been able to properly test that. All these things are not mentioned in any manual but as I said I've driven hybrids every day for a long time. The last two years it's been a GS 450h which has an almost identical engine. None of the differences are huge in and of themselves but they do add up. Next time you test a Toyota / Lexus hybrid, do a comparison and you'll see I'm right.
@@JC130676 We do comparisons every time. With the Vbox, off camera, we always try out every mode. There is rarely any difference. In fact, sometimes eco modes return a quicker result. But in saying that, we could run 50 tests and pretty much all of them would be slightly different. But the main thing is at the end we display our quickest results out of them all (regardless of mode). These results do not refer to the video though. The video is shot once, just quickly, for demo purposes only. In this instance we simply had the car in eco mode for the video recording (not intentionally). In the future we will try harder to video in the sportiest mode for you.

If you want to go fast get a sports car. This got to be the most beautiful of the RX lineup. The Lexus RX450h with the F-sport package in white.

Great cruiser and also good in City Driving compared to a lot of the nonhyrbids of this size.

Beautiful car, something very unique. At least lexus are always reliable too :)
not in sport mode?
I see the difference between 2021 rx and 2017. Hint its in the front
If the battery is full it could be more faster
Anyway the car looks unique and i love 7t
And why did you do in mode D and not in Sport mode ?
My 2010 non F sport does 0-60 in 7.1 seconds and still gets 30mpg.
I dont think it will do that in the city because i have tested it
0-100 in 8sec +.. you call that sport package
It is supposed to be a whole second faster than this... According to other channels it accelerates to 100 in the low 7s. I think the battery is drained
Georgi Popov or the mode was not on sport +?
the mode doesnt change anything with acceleration !! @@zlopy

Rayaan Shaikh :O
Is it faster or slower than the RX 350?
blackcyborg009 slower all of the extra weight so the extra 15 hp doesn’t help
loves this style videos
0-100km in 8.47s?? Surely NOT!! Th older rx400h does it in 7.2s.
The RX 400h is faster than the 2 newer generations 450h ...
only a little but fuel consumption is higher a bit too@@georgipopov8989
Idem IS 300H
No thats the sound of it driving away with road noise. I want to here start up and idle first.
👍 Super vidéo 👍 👏 ❤️ lexus 😍 😍
Plaese mode sport for this test.
We try out all modes off-camera to find the quickest time, using a Racelogic Vbox Sport. The video is only a demonstration.
what's the songs name so dope thx anybody knows?
I am also looking for it.. think its a standard youtube song. heard it on other clips as well in youtube..
got it now. You can download it on google play music. Its called Peace Band - Second Dance
Beautiful car, video needs some commentry.
Como es posible que el rx300t sea mas rapido que el 450h f sport uno con 8.1 segundos y el f con 8.4 🤷♂️
Why it's so slow ! 8.47s = 0-100km/h
NX 300h 0-100 8,4sec :)
Why is it so slow?
It weighs over 2 tonnes fuckwit.
+Riley Casey bmw x5 35i
+Riley Casey 6.5 seconds

8.47s Not fast,slow
It is so slow for a V6 hybrid. Plus it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
myvolvoforlife what did you expect? It's an SUV
Stick with the old rx400h ....sounds better and faster
The RX especially newer ones are more suitable for cruising enjoying the drive not much for going very fast also cause They are heavy
Plus lent sur les prochaine RX Lexus SVP c'est trop brutal
I was curious about Lexus, seems like good power but sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
Interior look less expensive
I do love ❤️ my dream car 🚗
Lexus this is embarrassing that thing is so slow
Annoying song tbh
Haha not using sports+ mode for 0-100 test but using eco mode.
The video is only a demonstration. We test multiple times off-camera with a Racelogic Vbox Sport.

CVT gearboxes are terrible for performance driving. How they can call this F-Sport is beyond me.
So uninspiring to drive and slow.
slow
Slow AF.
Weakly.
