I was (am) a loyal Spire and Zebra fan, but this synth was born for making massive pads, which I love. My only regret is that the patches it ships with are like ham & eggs, pretty common-sounding. With 8 layers, I was expecting a huge amount of amazing pad presets, but...just ham & eggs. Still it's an easy synth to wrap my head around, has immense power and flexibility despite that, and all future updates are promised to be free. Next iteration is supposed to incorporate granular synthesis! Can't wait!!!
I personally would like to see more unison options and maybe a filter visualizer. I've been using this synth for a couple weeks now and it's my new favorite.
Those are awesome ideas! You should definitely email support about them and make suggestions, I did for granular synthesis and they said that they will be adding it now.
I got this a couple of weeks ago after watching this review and I absolutely love it. I've designed a new production template with this being featured and have already contacted support about adding new features, to which they replied with a resounding yes to suggestions. Parawave is doing fantastic work. Excellent in depth and open review as usual, Beat Lab. Keep up the great work!
24:00 The keying options are not about the number of voices. They determine what each layer does when you play it. For example if you choose "lowest," that layer will play only the lowest note of any amount you press, which makes it good for a bass layer, etc.. +1, +2 etc. make each note you play go to whichever layer you select, so if you press a 3-note chord, each note goes to layer one or layer two, etc.. Those options are actually very cool, not related much to amount of polyphony.
Good video and feature requests! I'd also add, that there is no undo/redo, which is a shame at this level. And The sampling is obviously very deep but not customizable for the user in an efficient way. So they just should add an expandable view of the oscillators for more in depth editing of synth and samples. (among the other points of course)
18:12 maybe for preset saving. If you have a patch which plays better with low chords or high chords or single notes, arps or whatever you can store this with the preset which is really nice I think. Like a preset bank you have bought with the right Midi Files for each preset. So no need for Preset Banks Midi Files anymore :)
@@NathanChisholm041 I finally bought it for 91 euros sale. I agree it's a great synth, still I miss the waveform editor. And it does not worth more than these 90 euros. Otherwise there is Phase Plant from Kilohearts, and even Vital that are also very good synth.
@@olymoon2008 I've got Vital and liked it so i bought the Pro version. It makes some really bazaar sounds, and the presets are actually usable. There are so many good synths out there atm its overwhelming...
This seems like Avenger but IMO Avenger just sounds soooo much better. Rapid reminds me of PhasePlant - very powerful on paper, but just meh in the final sound. Which do you use more, Avenger or Rapid?
So i bought this, but after 5-10 minutes this VSt crashed me to Hell ( after i played with mor than 2 Layers ). The Demo of Rapid works fine, but the Retail is total broken for me. ( yes i have a good PC and enough cpu space).
I bought it.
No regret at all.
Been using it from day one and its my favorite still!

It is a very enjoyable synth!

Yesss thank you Yeuda! Excited to play around with this one 🙏

Wow that’s awesome
Its my favorite super quick and powerful for sound designing.

Thank you for clarifying. That’s an awesome feature!
Amazing multitimbral/sampling synth that's fairly easy to understand. It's pretty much only limited to one's own imagination.
Also it works like great external Fx. Especialy Rever is amazing
Definitely, this thing is a monster!
it wasn't for me but that doesn't mean it might not be for you!

1:44 u played my preset here :) It's an M1 Organ Rebuild which got used in Robin S. - Show me love. :)
Great video, thank you. I'm tempted by this but have not found the developer responsive to questions.

Miss the multimode.. but as synth sounds amazing.
At 181.49€ No waveform editor is a no go. Thank you very much for this extensive test.
Your loss! Without doubt the finest sounding vst ever made...

Can you specify what sounds better about avenger exactly.
@@generalq8933 - it much more accurately replicates the frequency response of your mom.
Phase plant is so so
Rapid blows Avenger out off the water and I own both! The rapid sound set is the best I've ever heard. Plus Vengeance is so clunky and dated.
@@NathanChisholm041 - nobody who knows wtf they're doing buys these for their "sound sets" LOLOLOL
And now the 1.8 it will have an extra dimention
nice
You have bought it?
I did, but I’m addicted to synths
Only reason for me us low cpu but Dune 3 is the king for that so no.

Mmm strange. Might be worth contacting their support team
They released 1.8 and should be much better on cpu
