- The 06 to 11 Civic Si throttle body spacers really make power power.
Here's Part 3
We're having so much fun tweaking the Civic Si and Sharing it.
George shows his new brakes that will be installed soon...
We also dig up the old LHT Throttle body spacer and see if it works....
We made these back in 2007 and sold a bunch of them.
We have sold out of the spacers at this time.
WE NOW HAVE THEM BACK STOCK !

I need to bring my 8th gen to you guys. Im over and Land O Lakes FL. Gonna plan a trip to you guys soon.
220 hp at the wheels without even touching the valve cover is awesome if you ask me. Loving the content all the way from Australia.
That is around 190-200hp at the wheels by European standard dynos then.
Kurosaki990Ichigo It is pretty good considering it still the complete exhaust system.
It does have a Mugen exhaust from the factory, right, but factory catalytic in place?
K-Series Bro
I love how you guys are just excited with every car that goes though the garage, whether its a 600hp Corvette or a 200hp civic and anything in between. Much love from Indonesia.
Edit: Spelling
Thanks buddy. I appreciate the kind words 👍🏻
Who would have thought that tiny piece would make 7 hp and 6 lbs ft of torque. Wild stuff.
Wow 220 whp all Bolt ons and no 3in exhaust just just amazing.👏👏👏 I can so relate to this build. Since I have my own 8th gen with similar mods can wait to see more
You guys are still using the nsx wallpaper i made 😊 im honored and this is why i love you guys, you respect love and appreciate your customers and viewers. I need to swing by one day and buy a new shirt cause ive lost a ton of weight and dont fit in the old one well now 😂
Leonard Hatzell awesome
I got one of these spacers for my 09 Si. 160k miles k&n intake and after installing the spacer it’s like night and day driving it. Throttle response is much better, the vtech changeover is smoother and it doesn’t bog after the shift at redline. No tune and it’s pulls smoother, it’s amazing compared to what it was. Best $ I’ve spent on this thing
Do you have a stock throttle body ? Stock intake manifold ?
Yes
They do work, specifically on log style manifolds such B series by helping the closest cylinders, in this case 3 and 4, by making air distribution more equal. The slight bend in the intake helps a bit but paired with a spacer even better.
Can't wait to see what a nice 3" LHT titanium exhaust yields, it has to happen! I'm sure you can make one quiet too
Sime T I’d like to see this too
Because the exhaust is a genuine Mugen stainless exhaust and is very quiet, I don't think George wants to replace it. We'll see....;)
John...I work with p2r and let me know if u want to try our thermal spacers which takes the aluminum a longer time to heat up which allows for less heat soak during runs. Let me know if u have any interest in our product. It would help George on track days
Hey Buddy, Ive seen your name and believe you offer these too. Can you explain why they work as well as they do ?
I have a AP1 and now just picked up a FA5 as a daily and im loving building both cars! keep up the good work guys love the content!
Special guest star... Shoutout to my main man, Bruce!🙌 Those spacers look nice, btw. I'm sure George will love all those brake upgrades. The first mod I did on my last car was Stoptech brakes (I believe they were 355mm, nearly 14"). Great video as always, guys. Y'all take care and have a good Monday, if that's even possible.😉
TheMick26 Thanks Man! I also put Bruce on the spot and he’s so cool about it.
Love those Hawk HPS pads. I run them on my daily driver. They're an OK track pad but they get greasy for me after about 15 minutes at my local track and need a cool down. I use Hawk HT-10 for the track now.
Eric Dawson I would consider brake ducts. We use this combo with brake ducting on the S2000 and you’ll never heat them up. More heat in the pads translates to heat in the fluid and caliper too.
I’ll see how they go and add ducts if needed
@@LHTPerformance I do have some ducting from the front valance pointed into the wheel well but for sure not directed at the rotor as good as it could be. I'm sure creating my own backing plates and attaching the ducting to them would solve the issue but my fabrication skills are somewhere between non-existent and backyard butchery. That said, I do really enjoy the HPS pads because they wear awesome, low to no noise, great cold bite, and in my situation can handle track duty just not as long as I'd like.
Maybe some day I'll get another set and try to create some backing plates to attach some hose to from the valance and see if I get a better result.
Cheers and thanks for the vids!
That's crazy for the amount that they cost. I know on the 8th gen page, there was always a commotion cause no one knew the before/after on these spacers.
Would definitely love to buy one of yalls, if yall still have them in stock
Definitely loving the content. Keep it coming! I have stoptech rotors on my car and they have performed flawlessly. This past fall I overheated them severely and they didn't warp at all.
Cameron Grady look into adding brake ducts. Any kind of air flow will help. Thanks for the comment.
Awesome to see you guys doing a & this gen was dying to see someone that know what they’re doing , do vlogs on these cars.. I love my 2008 four door Si
the smaller the engine that is n/a, the more beneficial bolt on mods are for them!! i got a 2015 1.8 with the r18 , and I put just a cai, with spacer, changed plugs, and it woke it up much more. this is even WITHOUT any exhaust work done or downpipe or anything. i cant wait to see what i can do with exhaust work, hondata tune and other stuff!
10/10 would highly recommend making more. You just made a video with proof. Bet these damn things will sell like hotcakes! Hell I'm interested! But, I need one with a 72mm bore. Hope you guys make some. Most of the ones now don't look like they are that thick. I'm not sure what the dimensions are of yours, but I'd say it would be a solid idea.
Good call on the coolant line bypass, did the sam thing to my 94 prelude h22
Great content. Keep up with the series type videos. The Integra and the Mugen have been fantastic.
Damn George, that thing sounds absolutely perfect!
Hey George make sure you keep that thing waxed. I had an 08 Si and they are known for clear coat issues where it fades and peels off. I didn't have the issue since I kept up with my waxing but just a heads up. It was actually a factory recall.
UPS guy help line up the throttle body spacer. Great video guys. Keep it up.
UPS guy = Bruce. Soon he'll charge me for making his famous....lol
Would the spacer make power with the k&n intake? Also it doesn’t loose peak power? I was always under the impression stock manifold was perfect
Should try this on NA s2k to see if they also increase the hp. If so that's another item you can sell in the LHT TLC package.
AJ Imports, boost will fix everything. I don’t think we’ll build anymore b. We’ll let the Chinese rip it off and sell it for penny’s. Hence why I have 10 in a dusty box for over 10years. Lol.
ASM/Toda produce a tapered spacer. It doesn't yield anything on it's own.
Very Nice content guys from an old 8th owner (miss it too) noce séries from Québec Canada ! Pretty much effectivement for a pièce of aluminium, that's surprise me for a cheap modification that's pretty effective worth it for sure ! Thanks for demonstrate that's very work for real !
WOW , I Love this channel.....always great content and products hands down, I dont want one of these I need one of these!!! Keep up the great work
LHT does the best work, keep it up John
Excellent series!
Thanks, I'm glad people are enjoying it.
14:39 higher gain at higher rpm, with sacrifice at lower rpm. The spacer at lower rpm cause power lag (because the air fuel mixture now get longer way to reach the chamber), therefore the engine do what it can to compensate (tell the injector to spray more)
Matius Teddy C. The idea of this test was not to adjust or compensate anything. Maybe a future episode will show more 🤔
any chance y'all still making these spacers?
Nice!
The old GSR had the same concept with its’ intake-manifold that changed runner length (remember their funny snail looking intake manifolds?)
Also, it’s not uncommon to experiment and change runner-lengths for ITBs and even Carbs to tune and adjust power curves in race cars.
Great video. Another suggestion for brake pads is Akebono
biopqq I’ve heard but never tried
Fantastic and amazing results.... it appears there was absolutely no additional tuning, correct? just before and after? would agree with other comments... please do the same comparison on a s2000. I do wonder how much power can be attributed to the prior tuning, though.
I had these made back in 2008 for the Civic...Ive had 10 collecting dust since...I doubt I'll make more. Sorry.
Did you consider adding a plastic/phenolic spacer to see if it would further reduce the air temps? Did you bypass the coolant hose to the throttle? Not sure if it is fully needed where you live.
You guys do amazing work. I love the attention to detail, no corners cut with LHT. John i was wondering if your throttle body spacers fit the 9th gen Si's as well?
Please test out the 70mm mdx or rl oem throttle body.. I need to see what it makes and if it fits your intake.. Is the civic with a oem RBC or a RRc intake..maybe because its mugen its the RRC
stefce trajkovski it is rbc and the intake comes with a larger silicon coupler for the larger tb. I’m working on a larger tb as we speak
I am helping a friend do work on his stock k24 now and am looking into this also the cheapest i found is prl site its 169$ oem mdx 70mm so u can look into that
This makes me miss my Si
You have any more spacers
So will 2 spacers make 10 plus hp?
Interested to see what a stack of 2 would do if one is +4-5hp compared to stock.
Can u try putting 2 spacers on top of each other?
Why stop at 2, do all 10! 😄
@@ayowser01 could be a good test and he would sell more lol
XDDDDDD
Have Jorge P from MaxBore do the throttle body and see if there is more to be gained. Enjoying the series.
way late on this. would the k20a3 get any help from the spacer?
my k24 ep3 has honda accord cu2 320mm discs with 2pot calipers front only loved your video on intake/exhaust
What front lip does he have on there? It is not the same that came on my Mugen.
Would love to see something like this for an AP1 S2K!
Yo also that touch screen on the dash is awesome looking! is that a upgrade that could be done to a 2012 civic si?
Any spacers left? And does the mm on the spacer need to match the exact size on the throttle body
That's impressive. I guess a little intake tract lengthening doesn't hurt. I wonder what adding a larger, tapered bore would do.
Wow that’s pretty cool, I hope you have one. I would like to purchase one but bills come first 🥴
For the throttle body water bypass you can use the S2000 heater plug instead of having a hose in the engine bay!
Fidel J id need 2 as there are 2 outlets. That’s why I just looped it.
@@georgefitzgerald5861 yeah just plug both of them! That's what I did on my 8th gen!
Fidel J I might but at the time I only had a hose
@@georgefitzgerald5861 do it! Itll clean up the bay@
Nice …Where can I get one And how much please let me know
2020 Honda Civic sport 2.0L
Manual
You can add a honda intake manifold insulated gasket and a j35 or j37 throttle body to it as well.
It said SUMbody else..... hahaha
I laughed more than I should have....
J D lol. I have a dry sense of humor.
That infotainment screen on the Mugen Si is sick. Is there an install video of that?
Great numbers!!! Car should be fun to drive now
Only reason it works is the engine wants more plenum volume. Effectively, that's what the spacer is doing, increasing plenum volume by roughly 57cc.
jdm92cb7 been along time seeing your name around, miss your old cb7 videos and your member ride thread.
Do you need the honata flashpro to install the throttle body spacer
No. It doesn’t affect the tune at all.
What touchscreen are you guys using? Would love to get one for my Si
Any of these throttle body spacers for an 04 si ep3? Stock
so do you know if you add this type of mod to a 2012 civic si... will it cause the car to not pass emissions? here in the states i gotta go through emission testing like most states do... and it sucks cause stuff like exhaust... intake... i cant do that stuff because the car wont pass emissions... but yeah im curious if this little mod would do the same... will it cause you to not pass emissions? looking at it i dont see why it would not pass.... but i know even changing something as little as that can throw the car CPU into a loop and most the time you gotta go get it tuned and or use a flash pro to actually gain benefits.... just curious though if it will still pass emissions and also will you even gain HP just by installing or would you still need to get it tuned with a flash pro?
Man, too bad I live in Indonesia. Wanna go to your shop. Just acquired FD2 but with K20Z2 150hp
Any advice if I wanted to convert it to K20Z3's one beside RRC intake manifold?
PS can't believe you made that much HP with the spacer!!
Brandon K. Remember, the last 2 HP was from a cool down down. It’s called “The Money Run”. Lol.
What will happen horsepower wise with two of those spacers stacked
Alex K We haven’t personally tried it. It will however cost another spacer, one more gasket and longer bolts resulting in a lighter wallet for better handling. lol
The world may never know
have a friend that use to run two spacers on carbureted V8 and said it maid more power according to his but Dino lol
😀😀😀 Bypass the water houses? Can I do that on my 06 Si? Is it safe? Please respond 😀😀😀👍👍👍❤❤❤
If you don't winter drive it, its safe.
Always enjoying ur vids keep it up!
Keep it going! Love the car!
Nick Marlin thanks me too!!
What’s the logic in that?? Also, is there any available for the b18c5?
Terry Low adds plenum volume and sorry none for b18c5
You may not believe it but in my 12v VR6 MKIII GLX Jetta I put an Intake Manifold Spacer on my Schrick VGI and it added around 5whp of power and kept the Schrick VGI much cooler. Yes some stuff sounds too good to be true and most of the time it is but sometimes you hit on a simple gem. What other mods do you have on The Civic Si? Individual mods are good but combining a CAI, TB, Header, and Exhaust often show more power than just one or 2 parts combined. Do you believe this to be true?
Matthew Mohri I remember trying one of these years ago and didn’t believe it. I removed it to confirm it actually worked. I’m usually skeptical as most things down work as advertised.
This should have the same effect on my built b18c5 with a kraftwerks supercharger?
I'm running a jackson supercharger on my 8th gen civic. I still have the coolant lines running through the throttle body. I'm going to be changing out the coolant soon. Been thinking about doing the bypass. Is there a big difference in intake temps when the bypass is done?
Essential Lites I don’t think it’s huge but anything is better than nothing especially with the Jackson supercharger! Look into merc racing for an after cooler for the supercharger
@@georgefitzgerald5861 hey george. Yeah I'm already running the merc aftercooler stuff also
I'm loving it as well!
doesn't the correction factor of .99 vs 1.01 account for the difference?
Any more of those throttle body spacers? I’d love one
Benny Hess I think we have 2 left. DM me on IG.
I apologize if this question already been asked but what touch screen kit is that??????
Dudee!! Im loving it also that is sweet i want one!!
So this illustrates with a couple bolt ons the engine likes a larger plenum 👍
Wonder what a ported manifold would do... 😉
SnyperTuned It May just be a future video 😉
Good to know thanks guys.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💰
I want to buy a spacer, how do I go about that?
Paused at 1:10
Why don't you use StopTech brake fluid?
ABDULLAH_FARD M. We used and tested the fluid we use with great success. I’ve ran it in the Corvettes, the NSX and many track S2000.
Will it work to on k20a3. actually I'd love to see a video on making power on one of Honda's slowest k series engine's.
I have one with a rbc and ktuned spacer and it pulls hard running on stock headers and borla exhaust
Does spacers really work
Would it be possible if you can test this on a s2000 f20/f22 engine?
I would have liked to seen 2 piece rotors but still awesome set up.
I would have liked to have seen a Bugatti Veryon but that wasn’t in the budget either. Lol.
@@LHTPerformance - haha you don't want that land yacht anyways.
I may look into two piece if/when I do TL-S calipers
@@georgefitzgerald5861 - I mainly said that because of the weight savings from the aluminum hub. I'm kind of a weight Nazi lol.
Do you have anymore spacers by any chance for a 8th gen Civic? (FD2R)
I need this spacer for my si. How can I get this part? Thank you for taking off that front H. Nice clean car. Hopefully boost will be coming soon to match the looks.
David S Check our the new video tonight at 9pm
you did do any tuning at all after the spacer was put in?
No.
This might be a stupid question lol is it adding more volume in the manifold to get more hp? What's your thoughts lht performance
Brett Byng I kinda put the question out there for the Scientist guys to explain it. Basically adding plenum volume adds more reserve of available air between firing events. Also positioning the throttle body further away from the two nearest runners allows for a straighter airflow. Also why large manifolds make power on a better breathing engine.
Oh fair 1 make sense, mad how a simple mod like that makes that much difference!!
Great work by the way keep up the good work and thanks for the reply I'll be watching you from the UK lol
Oh and loving the calender with the fiesta xr2 in 1 of your videos 👍
Did you guys know if the 10th Gen Civic Si has a throttle body upgrade? I have the Skunk 2 intake manifold 70” with the stock throttle body “50.
I believe Skunk2 make one for it
thank you for sharing I'm inspired .
Would one of these work on a Uk fn2 type R? That’s such a good gain for something so simple
Sorry, they fir 8th Gen Civic and 06+ S2000 only. I havn't tested them on an S2000 so I wouldn't know if they actually work.
LHTPerformance yeah it’s an 8th gen, 2008 civic type R, with a k20z4
I’ve the same car 🤣 I also want to know
Would it need re-tune if you install a spacer?
Christian Racines The AF Ratio was unchanged. There might one HP in it. Lol. As you saw in the video, doing a cool down for a few minutes will net some more ponies.
Hi John, Hi George, Great to see you back on the Magen. How much for the spacer?
Shane Black Lord George is lovin it Hopefully MCDs does complain. Lol.
Hi guys. Would a TB spacer make a difference on a S2000? I know ASM sells one. I would be curious to see on the dyno!
I’ve never tested one.
There you go, some more content haha. 😄 keep the video coming! Love it cheers
Great content
will it work on a stock ep3 manifold and TB
Rbc bolt pattern
Jason Absher I’m not sure. You’d have to look at the gasket
Doesn’t fit prb/prc
That’s 7 hp gained with the water delete. You should’ve tried it also with the water lines hooked up. P.s. you should make some for s2k and see the results. I’d buy one
The Water line were deleted when the intake was installed. It was just the spacer in the video.
But do you think the warmth from water lines will affect hp gain with the spacer?
Manuel Briceno I think HP would be very minimal. Re routing the water lines prevent heat soak.
Yes, just asking for an average joe. Plenty of people will have the water lines hooked up.
do you have these for a b18c1 i am running a skunk2 70mm pro throttle body ?
We don't. We made these 10+ years ago for the 8th Gen civic Si
@@LHTPerformance ok thanks john
A back to back testing will be a more accurate test. The way the car is tie down to the dyno will change the figure. And the dyno loading ? 0.99 vs 1.01 ? Hmmm.. hp/torque graph is similar except the entire band is move up.. all the ups n dips is same.. seem to me its jus a dyno tweeking.. but hey.. who knows.. mayb honda didnt wan to make extra 5hp on the car w a simple 20mm spacing..
