Nifelheim. One of the two oldest worlds of the creation. In the middle of this unforgiving realm lies the well of Vergelmer, where eleven poisonous rivers spreads across the tundra. There's also an underground river with blades instead of water that leads to the realm of the dead. But this is far from the only thing to worry about this land. On one of the roots of the world tree, Yggdrasil itself, rests a dragon. This is not just any dragon. It's a foul beast that spread darkness and death across the creation. Lindwyrms follow his every slither, human corpses are hanging on his scales and he constantly nibble on the root of the world tree, hoping it would bring it down. This dragon's name... is Nídhögg. He is the arch-nemesis of the great eagle, Hräsvelg, that creates all winds with his massive wings. It is said that Nídhögg will survive Ragnarök and bring a new apocalypse.

Níðhögg is a word still used very frequently in Iceland. Refers to a betrayal. A blow from someone you know and trusted. Guess that is what it originally ment. Níð is used for badmouthing or backstabbing someone. Níðingur a molester. Níðvísa, a mocking and spiteful poem about a particular person etc. All in good use here.

Could just as well be from any part of the world as being "Norse". But please try again, maybe next time you'll get lucky and chance upon a "Norse" chord or tonal memory.
