So... after such a glowing report of such an undeniably successful talent, HOW can you sleep at night knowing you used an "All Downhill" clickbait thumbnail to get people here? Nothing has been "downhill" for Grace. Ever. And you leave people with the wrong impression about her when they scroll past and don't take the time to watch the whole video!
Because clickbait unfortunately works, so there is no incentive to stop doing it. Notice that they haven't bothered to respond to any of the comments here. They clearly don't care.

You know what’s funny is I still can remember reading the comments after her very first audition and, I think, even after she had won and there were some comments stating along the lines “no one will go see her in Vegas.” I always thought that was odd, even those acts that won that I didn’t particularly care for, I would never think to make that kind of comment . . . how the hell would these people know who would or wouldn’t go see a show, especially if the act was the winner??!?? Just always struck me as a ridiculous thing to say is all . . .

Career is a tricky word. She never reached the top model title in any major fashion magazine. Her so called “ acting “ is nothing more than making money. Two children movies without any success and one highly praised coming up movie directed by a well known director still doesn’t make her a good actress. The only right thing in your comment is that she is really young and talented. Blowing up sometimes killed young artists in any genre. Her mistake is unforgiving by her former fans and building a cult, ( your words ) is more dangerous that standing against a huge enemy force alone. The video itself was decent, even if their research was a bit spotty and they disproportionately focused on her earlier stuff, and completely missed much of what she has done recently. But that clickbait thumbnail is just annoying. The fact that channels need to do this to get recognized by the YT algorithm is one of YT's biggest flaws.

She lost almost all her fanbase because she promised that second EP and never delivered it. AnD this update is almost nothing compare to other artists update which they never needed because they didn’t jumped from one profession to the other and didn’t achieved nothing in any profession. Her promised big stardom in that upcoming movie could be disastrous. Expect the unexpected in any way of life, and do not call her a big star before she deliver something. My comment was concerning YT's absurd requirement to use clickbait as a way to please the algorithm. I added that the video had a few factual errors, and that it could have included a little more of Grace's recent activities.
That said, I will address some of your comments. The entire premise of your statement seems to be you confusing your hopes and desires for Grace, with her own hopes and desires. It is natural for a fan to want success for the artist, but I believe it is far more compassionate, reasonable, and pragmatic to hope they achieve their dreams rather than what we might want for them. We don't really know what Grace wants for herself at this point, but she seems to be happy moving at her own pace and doing things that she likes doing. She has said in the past that she doesn't really want fame or massive success, but just enough to allow her to continue doing the things she enjoys. This might be hyperbolic and a veiled attempt at humility, but I am willing to take her for her word in the absence of any other information to the contrary. As for her jumping from profession to profession, she is still a teenager and is taking advantage of opportunities that are in front of her. People at her age are not supposed to have everything figured out and what better way to find your path than to take advantage of these opportunities to see what they bring. This is a very mature, intelligent, and sensible path for her to take. The idea that she hasn't achieved anything in either profession is extremely short sighted and naïve. Not everything needs to be measured in dollars, awards, and accolades. The experience and life lessons that she gains are invaluable. She has accomplished an amazing amount in her short time in the spotlight.
The rest of your comments are just a series of assumptions on your part with nothing to back them up, so I won't address those. I won't speak for anyone else, but I am here to enjoy her journey wherever that takes her. I am not trying to predict her success or give unasked for advice on how she should be achieving it. Most of all, my wish is for her to be happy in whatever she chooses to do, regardless of what my personal hopes and dreams for her might be. She is extremely talented, so success will likely find her in whatever form that takes.

Grace Vanderwaal is such a talented young women, even when she was little. I loved her on agt and still to this day, and she has a special talented voice and I just love it. Shes absolutely beautiful, and she has grown into a beautiful young women. I can’t wait for more good things for her to come. She deserves all the love she’s getting and more. Grace may not be at the genius level as Taylor Swift or Billie Eilish, but she's better at putting on a show. That's how she was discovered, packaging what TV advertisers find more valuable than Grammys or Oscars.
Acting in movies, putting on a show for her fans, and working through life issues like body image are but the natural stages in her charming career.

I hope people don't take the 2nd half of this video as actual facts because it's not even close. People seem to believe her trolls over what she said she was doing in 2021. Grace never had issues with her health.
When Grace finally had control over her image (from her label) she was able to dress the way she wanted and do her hair in anything but the Bob, her trolls attacked her when she tried to go Emo/Punk.
None of her young social media followers search for her unrecorded music that is uploaded on RUclips so they had no idea Grace was more Rock/Alt and her new style fit that music. I believe she let hair grow long again because people wouldn't leave her alone on Tiktok and Instagram.

This video has been up for 5 months, with a bunch of comments similar to the one you posted. I posted something similar myself. The channel has responded to exactly zero of these comments. They clearly don't care. Sadly, clickbait is an effective way to game YT's silly algorithm. Channels like this one will continue to do this, because it continues to generate views. Well yes, by 25-26 years old that would be easy to do but she would never be able to do it as long as she was signed with Simon's label.
If Capital Records or EMI signed her 7 years ago she would be huge today but alas Simon never released 80% of the songs she made. They tried to make her a little Pop girl like a Jojo Siwa and it appears Grace fought against that so they only released a handful of songs after her 1st album. Her fans kept waiting and waiting.
80% of the music she did in the last 7 years is still sitting on her Laptop or on a short fan made video on YT. She has no interest in releasing them once she gets signed with a new label because she feels she has grown and progressed a lot since she wrote those songs. She has a song called New York Lights that she wrote 5 years ago at 14 that would have been a huge hit but for some reason they didn't record it. No idea why it didn't go on Letters vol #1 EP.
Taylor has had no competition the last 7 years so she just kept getting bigger and bigger. Taylor released her 1st album at 17 yrs old when Grace was 2, Grace had an EP and an album by 13 years old. She was in Japan twice and Europe once but they never booked any concert appearances.
She did do 2 songs with Jason Mraz and two solo songs at the Special Olympics in Austria. At 13 years old she shocked the organizers of the Austin City Limits Concert Series and they invited her back for a 2nd show, they weren't expecting much since she was the youngest performer they ever had.
Simon and Covid killed the beginning of this girls career, she's only 19 so lots could be coming.
Just look at all that her bf has to go through, that good for nothing Bob Proctor won't even pay for his dinner or a hotel and has stopped helping produce their music (even going so far as to RUN him over, for fun) and fans are constantly calling the police on him wherever he goes. I say yes, her world isn't doing too well..
Maybe they see a lot of shows in Vegas. Do you honestly think numerous people would pay $ 80.00 to 125.00 to see her in a show? Be Real. She might have started out sweet and innocent but I don't know if she has stayed that way. Tattoos? That's not sweet and innocent. In one or two of her recent songs she says a bad word more than once. A while back, she was on a billboard that seemed to support sin.
There's nothing wrong with tattoos, her full usage of the English language to express herself in her music, and especially her Billboard saying "you be you" and "confidence is in you." She grew up great and is doing quite well for herself

Sorry, I never got all the excitement of her first audition. She was cute but her voice never attained the levels many others reached. No, her win has not "changed the world" as described here by her PR mgr I think. Yet I hope the best for her.
These videos are often done without the knowledge or consent of the artist or their team, and as often as not, they contain a number of factual errors. The giveaway is usually the click-bait title.
A few notes:
Grace's audition was unique in that we had a 12 year old who showed little to no fear, had little to no training, was distinct and quirky, and who wrote their own very relatable song. This resonated with a lot of people, which explains her appeal and popularity. Music and art are subjective, so not everyone is going to like the same stuff. And this is a good thing.
To that end, a singing voice doesn't need to have amazing range, precision, or clarity, but it does need to convey emotion and be able able to tell a story. And while Grace does not have the most impressive range compared to other singers, her voice is unique and she is very capable of hitting you in the feels. Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, and many other ultra popular and successful singers, did not have some of the qualities that you might value, but they were undeniably effective and garnered a great following.
At 19, Grace has already won a slew of awards, had albums that charted in the top 25 on Billboard, sold out multiple tours, opened for major artists, played the lead character in 2 movies, and filmed a 3rd (soon to be released), and accomplished so much more.
So while Grace has not "changed the world", she is still only 19 and it would not be realistic to expect her to have done so. She marches to her own beat, and while she might not walk the path that we may hope or expect, she is still likely to leave her mark, regardless of where that path takes her.
Well ler3968 the audience was kinda set up to respond positively by the way she talked to the Panel.
She was cute and quick witted and when she says "nobody knows I sing" well when your only 12 years old it's usually because your not that good so you wouldn't have the confidence to sing for friends so the audience wasn't expecting anything more than a cute girl singing a bad song.
When she opens her mouth and that beautiful raspy crack vocals that the majority of people love comes out people are surprised and start cheering right away to the point that they are jumping out of their seats screaming and clapping by the end.
It was so loud that Howie pretty much stands up during the song and looks at the audience in awe at her effect which made him decide this is my Golden Buzzer.
As Howie says months later once she showed up with a 3rd original song people in the music industry were trying to get her away from AGT to sign her to their label but Simon wouldn't let her go.
That was a big mistake on Grace's part because ever since then Simon has screwed up her career.
Plus we can't forget her super stalker mr Daniel larson
Hanging around any of these people in music is destructive. They are poor examples of anything.
Grace isn't a "poor example" of anything. She has grown into a fine artist and human being

Nah, she was great, which is why she won. First person in the history of the show to only sing originals and people loved them
