Jesus would never instill fear in people like that, he came to teach people that God IS love and nothing to be afraid of . He came to teach people that God is within them always and that they do not need a church in order to be with God. He did not come in the name of fear and religion, he came in the name of love. @@IsaacNussbaum I'm still pretty confused but I thought this whole eternal torture Hell thing was all true until I started researching the Greek interlinear Bible. Hell means Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, and Tartaroo. I dont think eternal actually means forever either.... The Greek word that we slapped our word eternal to is aionios. But that means age, world, life, a finite time, and eternal. But it seams like eternal in Greek does not mean forever. It seams like there is an endpoint of eternal. Idk man the more I read the Bible and research the more I think the English translations could be misleading in ways. Seams like some of these later english translations were created with a personal agenda in mind.
Eternal torment is unfair and unjust. We didn't choose to live and be born. It is more logical that a merciful God will make hell as a means to destroy an evil soul and end sin. It doesn't make sense that a loving God will torture souls without cease in hell for eternity, because even the most basic loving and sensible person would know that you cannot defeat evil with evil. If God only wants evil and sin to end, what is the sense in tormenting souls for eternity when obviously all those souls are already at the mercy of God. It says in the Bible that the penalty of sin is DEATH, it didn't say the penalty of sin is eternal torture.
*"It says in the Bible that the penalty of sin is DEATH, it didn't say the penalty of sin is eternal torture."* The needed to be said. Thank you for doing so.
Eternal torment is just and fair because God is just. To state otherwise, would suggest that you know what is just even more so the Almighty and that is arrogant. Those who willfully reject the free gift of salvation will have everlasting torment, not torture. People shouldn't push false narratives simply because it tickles the ear.
To burn forever and ever and ever doesn't feel right. Why not make it 50 years or 25 years and then just put each one of those people alone on a Island for example. But I suppose we shouldn't question God.He knows why he's doing what he's doing. But it is scary. Lots of hell testimony talked about people getting tortured and killed and then regenerated just to be killed again and again and again and again and again............. 😬 I love Jesus. But I will never understand this. Perhaps it's partly because HIS son was tortured. Some people are definitely more prone to addictions and distractions than others. It's partly a decision but also partly not a decision. These people sometimes believe in the existence of Jesus and everything Jesus did.But still get distracted with worldly things. When they realise they've wasted their life many years after they thought they were saved. Then GOD rejects them . Because there sins has just become too deep and too long. The word aionios means "eternal" in Greek and is used in the Bible. That word doesn’t mean unending. It means for an eon or a period of time. It means something that happens over and over within a certain period of time. Here is the precises definition on the internet: The Greek words aion and aionios, and the Hebrew equivalent olam, mean “age” and refer to a specific aeon, epoch or season. Although translated “eternal” and “everlasting”, they simply do not mean forever and ever. Einstein said: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. That is what the word aionios refers to. For example: If you keep touching a hot stove, you will burn your hand. It will be eternal unless you stop touching the stove. Hell is the anguish you experience from experiencing negative emotions and situations. The fire in hell is the purging of the dross of that behavior and mental and spiritual attitude. The fire will stop when you change. Look at the story of the Prodigal Son. He suffered to the point where he said to himself enough is enough. He hit rock bottom and then turned his life around. Paul said this: “Jesus learned obedience from his suffering.” Same thing.
@ the 2:54 mark: _"The just punishment for that sin is death. Romans chapter 6, verse 23."_ You know what the Bible says, Pastor Nelson. You just quoted it. It says eternal *DEATH.* So, why do you teach the exact opposite? Why do you teach eternal suffering?
Because that's what they do. They instill unnecessary fear in people to ensure that they keep people coming back to the church and giving them their money and confessing their sins to an unnecessary middle-man to avoid being burned in a MADE UP lake of fire for eternity. They know they are losing people because people are waking up and realizing that they've been controlled and manipulated for so long but people are finally realizing that God is within them and that God is nothing to fear ! The churches are starting to get desperate because they can see what's happening so they're trying to keep people from leaving by scaring them which to me is a very UNHOLY thing to do.
Ps 76:10 is not at all talking about people praising God from hell. Ps 6:5 asks the rhetorical question "Who can praise you from Sheol?" The obvious answer is no one. Ps 76:10 means the wrath of man will be transformed into praise for God because of their salvation.
*"The real question is, is hell just?"* No, it isn't just. That is why hell is not in the Bible. (Yes, the word "hell" is in some Bible translations. However, none of the original Hebrew and Greek words represents a place of eternal torment.)
The idea that sin against an eternal being requires eternal punishment is logically absurd. Do we base our punishments on the age of the victim? Would a crime against an older person always result in a sentence greater than that of a crime against a younger person because of the age of the victims? Also, the Bible states that there will be degrees of punishment in the afterlife (many stripes vs few stripes). This cannot be the case if sins against an infinite God result in infinite punishment. There are no degrees of infinite punishment because the punishment is infinite. The Bible directly disproves the concept of infinite punishment. Also, since the Bible states that some will receive many stripes (lashes) and some will receive few, the Bible does not support eternal punishment. The words "many" and "few" do not indicate eternal. I noticed that no one who says that eternal punishment is in the Bible uses a direct, word-for-word translation of the original Greek NT text to prove it. That's because the original NT text clearly states that punishment is "aionion kolasin", which translates to "age-lasting correction". The concept of unending torture in hell would be eternal retribution and would be translated as "aidios timorion". However, Jesus himself described the punishment as "aionion kolasin". The word "eternal" in most common Bibles today is based on bad translations. Those who believe in eternal torment must also believe that God never defeats sin. If the damned are endlessly cursing God in hell, which is what many hell defenders believe, then God never eradicates sin. Evil would be eternal. More over, if most people end up in hell (which what many hell defenders believe) then the devil gets a victory. If God wants all to be saved and the devil wants all people to rebel against God and most people end up in hell, did God win? If you believe in eternal punishment, then you CANNOT believe that God fully defeats evil. Eventually all people will be reconciled and God's victory will be complete. See 1 Timothy 4:10 and Revelation 5:13.
The Lake of Fire is eternal in effect, not duration. Isaiah described Gehenna/Valley of Hinnom. Secure your soul today. Many people do not believe there is Heaven or life after death. Some think that Hell is just a scare tactic. Religious people think to believe in the Lord Jesus even without righteous deeds will save them from Hell. The truth is there is death every hour. If you were wise, then secure your soul today for whatever happens after death by fulfilling the requirement of God based on what is written in the Holy Bible. The Lord God is holy. If you want to enter His Kingdom, you must be holy as Him and not pagan, worldly, nor uncircumcised in heart. Living holiness means loving life, and disobedience means you hate life. There is only one kind of holy life that the Lord God commanded to the children of Israel: It is by believing in the Lord Jesus the Son of God by living His way of life, obedience to the Law of Moses, teachings of the Prophets and teaching of the Lord Jesus, being humble with a teachable heart, helping the poor with love and mercy, fear of God, and avoid every sin of the world as pride, envy, lust, lie, greed, adultery (we are to look at man or woman as brethren and not as a bed partner), and idolatry as worshiping carved images, birthday, xmas, or new year. The words of God said If you have fulfilled the requirements of the Lord our God, you will live as the tree that lives forever and enter Heaven without physical death. Lord Jesus ascended to Heaven alive. If you live a disobedient life, you will enter Hell, where the people are hungry but no food, thirsty and no water, in pain in the fire burning and no medicines, no house to live, and no bed to lay head forever. This man did not put all the pieces together in scripture. Let me do that for you. First, you must understand that hell is a temporary place. The bodies of the wicked spirits in hell are resurrected from their graves, the wicked spirits are removed from hell and reunited with their bodies. The wicked stand before the white throne judgment. Let us examine hell and how it evolved in Abrahamic beliefs as these will be the closest religions to use a similar concept to what you imagine hell to be.
Judaism (the oldest Abrahamic faith) does not have hell, but has Gehinnom, which first was seen as a grave and later became a sort of purgatory. No-one tortures anyone in Gehinnom, but once one enters there they become fully aware of their shortcomings and negative actions during one’s life leading them to feel deep shame over and each one of them, therefore creating suffering that pays for the misdeed and purifies the soul. Everyone experiences this place, but no-one is there for forever.
When one deviates from the will of God they are also described as being in Gehinnom, not in the future tense, but in the present moment. Being out of alignment with God is seen as a punishment in itself, therefore no need for any further threat of damnation."
*Matthew 3: 12* does not say anything about eternal torture. It says the fire will burn the lost up; consume them; turn them into ashes.
_His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and_ BURNING UP _the chaff with unquenchable fire.”_

@Casey Oliver You do realize the concept of Hell was added to the Bible by the Catholic church right ? Jesus would never instill fear in people like that, he came to teach people that God IS love and nothing to be afraid of . He came to teach people that God is within them always and that they do not need a church in order to be with God. He did not come in the name of fear and religion, he came in the name of love. That's why they wanted him killed, because he was taking away the power that they had over people because he was telling them what God actually was, which is love, not some angry vengeful wrathful judge on a throne punishing people for an eternity for making mistakes. Stop buying into what the church wants you to believe, stop fearing God .
Here is the precises definition on the internet:
The Greek words aion and aionios, and the Hebrew equivalent olam, mean “age” and refer to a specific aeon, epoch or season.

Ps 76:10 means the wrath of man will be transformed into praise for God because of their salvation.
Is hell real? No.
Glad I could help you out with that one.
*"Is hell real? No."* And hell isn't in the original Bible manuscripts, either. Nowhere. Not. In. A. Single. Place.
You're lying again.
The real question is, is hell just?

Thus says the Lord, choose life that you may live forever. Life in this world is just as a free trial. Live wisely by living an obedient life.
