Gloss black keys are a horrific idea. seconds after getting it it will never look clean again, also it's a dark car yet silver in the 360 camera. that's not a great eye for detail from VW.
VW used to set the class standards, but with many of their recent cars they seem to be several steps behind imo. This car just looks like any other SUV on the market.

It’s more like £91,000 for a comparably specced X5 3.0d which incidentally you can’t get with the Night Vision that this Touareg has, and whereas there’s the option of All Wheel Steering on any ICE Touareg (don’t think the car tested here has that since the 12.2 metres turning circle quoted is for the standard steering) that option for the X5 (Integral Active Steering) is not, in the UK at least, currently available on any M Sport model - only comes as standard on the M60i. The Cayenne of course has all the same options as the Touareg (and a few more besides) but then you’re talking closer to £100,000 for equivalent specification, and though that car’s undoubtedly better in the performance/sportiness stakes, you can only get it with the V6 3.0 petrol engine which is not as good as the diesel when it comes to range/economy, or for use as a tow car. The Audi Q7 may compare favourably - don’t know - not really looked at that, as to me that car would only make sense if I needed seven seats, which I don’t, and wouldn’t want to give up the space under the rear cargo area/boot floor that allows a spare wheel to be carried, which in my case is important to have.
Then what? People should stop looking at the badge and just give proper value to things...
