    I got one ( a 2017)second hand for. £1k. Fits me perfect. And as a beginner. It’s ace. Simple action. Plain. Goes bang. Love it.

    Used this when I was shooting trap in high school. Really easy to use and handles great. A good trap and skeet gun!

    The White Onyx is now at least £300 cheaper than the Silver Pig.
    £300 for some shallow, machine engraving?
    White Onyx is the value buy in 2021.

    That was the first shotgun I ever bought that was above the quality level of a Huglu. It was the first moment I learned what a higher quality gun feels like. Too bad I didn't know what fit meant. I do love plainer looking actions rather than fancy engravings but If I were to buy again Id get a Silver Pigeon 1.

      Why would you go for a Silver Pig instead?

    • @MumblesMarbleMouth
      @MumblesMarbleMouth 6 лет назад

      The Silver Pigeon is just a lot more well known gun than the White Onxy and the Silver Pigeons engravings are something I can live with just fine even though I do prefer a plain action like a 692.

    I own a silver pigeon sporter, but I think this one is a nice looking gun with the jeweling. Would hope that the substandard metal to metal fit is just on this example.

    When you're already spending $2000+ on a gun, saving $150 doesn't really impress. If you were saving $400-$500, that would be a different story.

      Agreed that if they wantedd it to be entry level they could have made the saving a little greater!

    I have been looking at buying a new gun, I have a Lanber that has served me well but wanted something a little nicer I have been looking at a Silver Pigeon 12 bore or spending a little more money on second hand Perazzi MX8. I shoot clays and a bit of game, I'm no crack shot but I hit my fair share of both, I'm right handed and fairly average in size. Don't think you have reviewed a Perazzi on your channel, is that because you don't think much of them or one has not come up. Would you recommend one over the other?

    Hi guys,
    Is there any chance you could have a look at reviewing any of the ATA Arms range of over unders? I'm lead to believe they are extremely close copies of the Beretta 686 and as a new shooter looking for his first gun (on a budget of no more than £800), whether it's worth considering?
    Cheers

    Hi fellas, I would really like you to do an in depth review of the Beretta A300 Outlander in comparison to Turkish semi autos. Is it worth £800-900? What sort of finish is on the barrel?

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  7 лет назад

      What are you going to use it for?

      Hi, I would use as an all round gun but mainly sporting clays.

    I'm with you on this, for the extra £100/150 I would go for the silver pigeon over this gun.

      Depends if you like the engraving on the SP. it's all opinion, and personally, think Beretta's weakest point is the engraving. Hate it on my 691 and far prefer the Onyx without any.

    Would be great if you could do one on the 686E Evo sporter. Im searching for some information about it but i cant find any, but my dealer has given me a price, and thinkin if its worth it. He wants 1 570pounds for it brand new.

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  7 лет назад

      That is so reasonably priced, how could you go wrong!?

      I'm sure there is a review of the 686E by The Gun Shop isn't there?

      If it’s a brand new 686E Evo for circa £1500 your getting a good deal, I paid £1700 six months ago and have seen them retailing for £1900 in some gun shops now. There is a review by the gun shop too.

    Hi TGS
    I as you know am a newbie to all this malarkey! But am learning bit by bit!
    I have to say, I am one of those people that likes a plain action. For this reason I very much want a beretta 692 sporting but can’t consider the price point. I literally would be shot by her indoors.
    I do appreciate that you will regard this comment / question as a ,,,, do not pass go, do not collect £200 go straight to hell! kind of question, but.
    Based on the fact I have had my OAU custom fitted ( by you) and will keep it forever, as it will always be a better shot than me! ( I will buy mor shotguns in the future)
    Could you at a reasonable cost? remove the game scene from my browning and create a plain polished finish to the action more akin to the 692 sporting.
    Feel free to shout at me, also if you don’t shout too loud a rough price would be useful.
    Please don’t hate me, I love my gun, I will keep it forever so what’s wrong with custom work?
    Worst case is you ignore my shameful thoughts and do a video on shotgun customisation. Good and bad.
    Thanks. And sorry. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  7 лет назад

      Hi Mr Potter,
      The problem with removing engraving is that it requires more material removal than is healthy for the gun.
      We could do it, but the gun will require annealing before hand, the faces milling off to ensure a flat surface is attained. The action will then need hardening and reproofing.
      Not a particularly cheap job to do properly.
      Have you considered buying an old browning A1, plain actioned gun and just swapping your stock onto it, in a strange part part-exchange option.
      TGS

    I reckon that city boys who learn to shoot clays probably want the white onyx over the silver pigeon.
    Country lads probably prefer the silver pigeon.
    I’m a city boy. I don’t really want a game scene engraving on my gun. For me, my guess is a piece of sporting equipment and I like the jeweled look.
    Feel free to rip the p*ss out of me over that lol.
    Beretta have been pretty clear that they think there’s a market for folks like me. Look at the old 682 gold E or the DT-11 or hell, even the A300 sporting. These are all machined actions rather than engraved.
    No disrespect to folks out shooting game. Fair play to them, but I would think that a lot of that market would probably go for an heirloom gun over something like this.
    Maybe they’d grab a grade 5 or a EELL rather than a basic grade 1 silver pigeon?
    I suppose the question at the end of the day is “who’s buying what on the resale market”?
    Are there more city boys buying the first shotgun in their family, or are there more country lads who didn’t have one handed down to them?
