What a fantastic song and performance. Listen to the tone on that guitar and the timbre of his voice. In my opinion, this is one of his finest songs, far better than American pie. Beautifully recorded too. An absolute masterpiece.

oh how i sometimes wish i could have grown up in the 70s
It was a magical time but then I was in my 20s'. A time of boundless energy and when you think youre invincible! As Winston Churchill said, "20 to 30 those are the years". But then that applies to us all regardless of the decade you spend your 20s' in. (Unless youre involved in something horrendous like war ofcourse!).
But it seems the music was better, there was more respect then, people never thought they were all experts as they do now, less arrogance, nobody glued to phones and none of the nonesense quips of today, "going forward", which is present tense, incorrectly used as future tense instead of "in the future"! "Inbox me" seems too much trouble to say email me! "Reach out to me" or you could do something far less dramatic and say contact me! Its all a bit wierd nowadays as some people try to appear clever but actually make themselves look simple!
I'd like to go back just so nobody says "like". "Like I might call you". "Like I thought of going for a run" . Jeez!
As close to magic as there is. Makes me believe.
Never had a woman in my life but if I ever did this would be the song I would dedicate to her.
