    Appreciate your point regarding the benefits of Toric lens versus Laser/Mono focal also, the importance of not wearing contact lenses for several week prior to eye measurements etc …. Great information 👍

    excellent discussion as usual. I've recently been diagnosed with irregular astigmatism, however it does not affect my measured refraction - allegedly! So far it appears to be a simple "feature" of my eyes and not related to some degenerative disease like keratakonus, so in theory should not be a problem when I finally arrange cataract surgery.
    But how can this be? And how might IOLs mix with irregular astigmatism? (in my case of 1 diopter in my worse eye). Should this influence IOL type at the very least (with the understanding that a toric would not work anyway - this part I understand)?

      Hi! for irregular, depending on the patient reaction to refraction either non toric or some degree of toric - but to be tested and discussed with the surgeon
