I always saw Soundgarden as kind of a supergroup. They just had it all, one of the best guitarist, a hell of a bass player, a super talented drummer and the best singer of all time. This band is with no doubt the best.
june '92, Hannover, Germany ...Soundgarden, Faith No More and Guns'n'Roses live on stage ...i was 17 years old and the happiest teenager alive ...i will miss you, "90"!
Fucking incredible. A guy like Cornell comes along once every millennium, he's amazing. Soundgarden are in my opinion the greatest off all the Seattle bands, Heavy, bone crushing music done with intelligence and virtuoso skill, that cannot be pigeonholed into any one style. They make a beautiful, brutal noise that we will not hear the likes of again for a long long time. Long live Soundgarden
RIP Mr Cornell... A very gifted musician who is now "on his way to the sky". This is my good eye Do you hear a cow? A rooster says Here is a pig The devil says Painted blue across my eyes And tied the linen on And I'm on my way Looking for the paradigm So I can pass it off Is it on my side, on my side Is to the sky, is to the sky, is to the sky now Searching for the ground with my good eye closed If I took you for a ride, would you take it wrong? Or would you make it right, make it right? Looking for a pedestal that I can put you on And be on my way, on my way Is to the sky, is to the sky, is to the sky now Searching for a ground with my good eye closed With my good eye closed Stop you're trying to bruise my mind I can do it on my own Stop you're trying to kill my time It's been my death since I was born I don't remember half the time if I'm hiding or I'm lost But I'm on my way, on my way to the sky (I'm on my way) to the sky (I'm on my way) to the sky (I'm on my way) to the sky I'm on my way (to the sky) To the sky To the sky On my way On my way Is it to the sky? just watching this decidedly shows how hard previous bands rocked and how real the music was. Pure art. I saw Soundgarden twice and they blew my head off.
Soundgarden is just too amazing. They write amazingly great music to listen to and INSANELY hard to play on ALL instruments and yet play them live perfectly. Not to mention their great stage presence and energy. All four members are amazing musicians.
this is probably the 150th time I'm watching this video, and at least the 20th time I comment... unbelievably stunning!!! I would kill for that Chris' t shirt
This song is retardedly good. after the break, when they go "full on" .....it's like a wall of power that will blow you through a fucking wall. Soundgarden is the truth
Plagued by demons and torment. Riddled with anxiety and stress and through it all Mr. Cornell managed to create some of the most brilliant music EVER! May you be " UPSTAIRS" and awakening EVERY RESIDENT Daily with your inimitable breathtaking vocal. Gone far , far too early but NEVER forgotten! R.I.P. Mr. Chris Cornell
The movie this is from (HYPE) is a good documentary about the "Seattle Sound" surge reported by the insiders that were part of the scene at the time. If you ever wondered how the "Seattle Thing" happened, it's worth a look.
MY ! greatest era in music.... Soundgarden Pearl Jam Nirvana Stone Temple Pilots Alice in Chains Blind Melon N manys More.... Soundgardens definately at the top of my list ....
Soooooooo lloking forward to the Red Rocks show and seeing this live again....one of THE best Soundgarden songs hands down........Music today has NOTHING on this !!!
So much fun! So many good memories! We were wild & crazy chaotic back then! And I loved it! I show these videos to my daughters & grand kids and they are like, Right? No way! Not our mom....not my NawNaw... Me - un huh 🤷♀️
Oh wow I feel the same way! I was born in 88 so I was only a kid during this show :( If soundgarden were still around though we could all still go to their concerts but everything happens for a reason i guess.
this was a gig at the paramount theater in seattle, WA ...date: 5th march 1992 ...taken from the soundgarden motorvision-home-video ...i had the pleasure to see them live on stage on their 92 and 94-european-tour here in germany>> just awesome! :-) ...cheers
Yep, the first AIC song I ever heard was "We Die Young" and I was hooked. There were many so great metal-grunge bands back in the 90's its hard to remember them all. Prong, Ministry, Warrior Soul, the list goes on. I dont see anything on the horizon these days that even comes close
hey its always possible soundgarden will get back together! it seems this decade will b famous 4 great rock bands reuniting! metallica,ac/dc,creed... all got back together so theres always a chance 4 a soundgarden reunion, just dont give up hope and be calm their on their way! live on SG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
esta banda, es lo maximo para mi.. como quisiera nacido desde mucho antes y ver todo esto en vido, en persona, tsss.. que buena rolaaaaa, la musica, la voz de chris, todo esta perfecto!!!!
the badmotorfinger album is such a masterpiece that it makes you want to play it over and over again by the way..where I can find a live version of "holy water"???
This is one awesome recording. This was a Soundgarden highlight. Other recordings are also worth analysing, I love this band. They remain hugely influential and this musical style is sadly missed and I am sure it will soon return to the fore. Great, thanks, Marcus.
Holy Jesus, Ben Sheppard is fucking awesome. There are rumours of a Soundgarden tour next summer but who the hell knows?! My 20 year-old self was too young in their heyday to remember them. I did see Cornell in concert last year and he still has the voice.
Hey guys, I've been telling everyone about a band called, THE DOG GODS. They're not Soundgarden, but they try and honor Grunge. I checked them out on MySpace and have become a big fan. I do miss those days.
I can't listen to this anymore, I cry everytime I do. I'm reminded that they will not play something as.....WORDLESS as this again......... But I hope someday they might........

Agreed! 🖤🤘🏽
Songs like this one only happen once in a lifetime.🤘🤘🤙

This is 100% pure ROCK N' ROLL!!!
12 years after this post and it's still true.
RIP Mr Cornell... A very gifted musician who is now "on his way to the sky".
This is my good eye
Do you hear a cow?
A rooster says
Here is a pig
The devil says
Painted blue across my eyes
And tied the linen on
And I'm on my way
Looking for the paradigm
So I can pass it off
Is it on my side, on my side
Is to the sky, is to the sky, is to the sky now
Searching for the ground with my good eye closed

Looking for a pedestal that I can put you on

Searching for a ground with my good eye closed
With my good eye closed
Stop you're trying to bruise my mind
I can do it on my own
Stop you're trying to kill my time
It's been my death since I was born
I don't remember half the time if I'm hiding or I'm lost
But I'm on my way, on my way
to the sky
(I'm on my way) to the sky
(I'm on my way) to the sky
(I'm on my way) to the sky
I'm on my way (to the sky)
To the sky
To the sky
On my way
On my way
Is it to the sky?
Is it to the sky
Stop your trying to bruise my mind, I can do it on my own. Stop trying to kill my time, it's been my death since I was born. I don't remember half the time if I'm hiding or I'm lost. But I'm on my way! Yeah!(x2)
This is the best song ever
Soundgarden was in a class all their own compared to the other Seattle bands, including Nirvana.
agreed mate.
I would agree, their musicianship borders on superhuman.
They were, and so was Nirvana and so was Alice in Chains and so are the Melvins
They were metal as fuck disguised as "grunge"
Nirvana = rubbish
GRADE A EXAMPLE PEARL JAM
Rest Up Chris! Came to my favorite Soundgarden song when I heard.
Better than album version
yeah totally, i love how he doesn't kick in with the vocals right away like the album, but waits 2 bars while humming
Blasphemy
@@3cs3hs i also love that guitar lick done right at the end of the song. Sounds majestic.
I Believe Chris Went up to the Sky and Just Disintegrated into the Universe!
We Will always Love And Miss You!
Soundgarden Forever!!!
That was an awesome show, The energy at these shows in the early and mid nineties was second to none in rock history
just watching this decidedly shows how hard previous bands rocked and how real the music was. Pure art. I saw Soundgarden twice and they blew my head off.
Band of the '90s. Hell yes!
Oh yeah. Doesn't get much better. 🎧 Soundgarden baby. RIP Chris. 🎤🎸

My alltime favorite Soundgarden song. MUCHOS GRACIAUS!!!!! I hear it in my car all the time, or when I'm tripping!!!
"Can't remember half the time if I'm hiding or I'm lost."
Pretty much how I felt through most of the 90's.
The movie this is from (HYPE) is a good documentary about the "Seattle Sound" surge reported by the insiders that were part of the scene at the time. If you ever wondered how the "Seattle Thing" happened, it's worth a look.

Great song, great band, can't wait to hear some new material, even if it takes a couple of years!
I wish there were MP3's of these performances, so I could keep these.
Great performances, thanks guys.

F'n killer, one of my fav's!
One of the best bands of the 90s (even though they formed in the 80s).

If a performance like this will ever happen again, now that SG is back... the world is saved.
grunge in the purest form...good to have them back...

xxxcellent editing work, definitely historic in it's own right! Cornell mesmerizes me, and this is awesome footage indeed!
