Iroh wasn't just an Uncle to Zuko. He was an Uncle to us all growing up. He inspired me to be the good in the world.
I truly believe that if Kyoshi had somehow temporally lost her bending when she fought Chin, she would've just strangled him

@@lopezroilans.8384 He still has plenty of flaws. He favored his nephew because Zuko reminds him of Lu Ten, neglecting Azula. And he determined Azula needed to be taken down even though she is younger than Zuko and didn't have the same support.

I think the most aggravating part about Aang is him knowing he needs to kill Ozai to bring peace and he just refuses to accept it.
If he hadn’t gotten energybending he probably would’ve never tried to fight Ozai.
I think eventually he would’ve done it. You see him running away at first, but when the Avatar State came into being, he almost wanted kill Ozai with a final blow. But he held back at the end because he wanted to use energybending.
except he literally says "im gonna have to kill the fire lord" after talking to the previous avatars before learning energy bending.

The moment the Firelord banished Prince Zuko, the war was decided. The type of mental strength and fortitude it took to overcome how he was raised and the evil he witnessed is dangerous and extraordinarily rare. People are generally products of their environment and cannot help why they are the way they are, like Princess Azula. It takes unimaginable mental strength to rise above it and change. Ozai should’ve realized what he had in a son. Once he joined Avatar Aang, the war was over. No one can stand up to that much strength. I have great admiration for Zuko. Even though he is a fictional character, he is a good role model for kids.
Uncle Iroh’s reaction is how Jesus Christ reacts when His flock returns to Him. No judgement just happiness and love because we have come to Him.
In every reaction to this episode, nobody seems to recall that the lion turtles were seen in the library by avatar team, aang just saw pictures of them and i believe says something about them
The one episode where Toph is the biggest hussy when it comes to Zuko makes me laugh.
I wonder If this was a rouge lion turtle. In Korra it seems that they left the world of humans after the fight with Vaatu. They weren't keen on helping humans after the great split of spirits and mortals (calling it the new era), but this one told Aang the solution to his problem and even brought him to the place he would fight Ozai.
There's probably still a couple roaming the oceans, they're probably just so rare that basically no one has seen them, or they can slip in and out of the spirit world at will and this one just came to the world of man to help Aang fufill his destiny
actually each of the other avatars gave really good advice Aang might've just been a bit too young to see the whole point of each
Roku: you can't hesitate even if they're a friend because if you see what they're doing is wrong and you can stop it you have to
Kyoshi: you have to do whats needed to protect what really matters
Kuruk: just because it's peaceful doesn't mean you slack on what's required by you just because he had no big world crisis he should've taken his duties seriously and because he didn't the spirit world sent him a rude wake up call
Yangchen: basically you have to be selfless just because something collides with you beliefs if your job of saving the world requires you to look beyond them you have too
.....basically in the end it all ended up being what Illidan from WoW tried telling everyone else and because they ignored him lots of terrible sh*t happened and yet they still needed him to save their a$$es aka while it might be hard you have to be able to make the tough calls/choices especially when your responsibilities involve protecting the freaking WORLD!!

If Aang hadnt found the energy bending solution he would have fought Ozai and possibly risked losing the battle. But he is a child as well as an air nomad so its understandable he felt conflicted.

It's crazy hypocritical of team avatar to come at aang about how easy it'll be to take the ozai's life...when literally none of them have killed anyone...especially when katara had the chance to kill the man who killed her mom and didn't take it...but when it's aang it's all of a sudden there's no other choice...so messed up
Yeah. With the evil deeds Ozai has done, none of them can still see him as human, except Aang. They just see him as the ultimate evil whose death is the key to peace after a hundred years of war. Aang, who spent those years frozen in ice can hardly relate to the depth of their pain and suffering.
It just gives way to the thought of ending something bad without doing anything bad in return sorta way. And it solidifies Aang's character as an avatar against killing, despite its need for the balance of the world.
I mean, they are still young teenagers thrown into a war to save the world, they don't have that maturity that comes from a long age and balanced experiences.
I don't think it's that simple. First off, a debatable reason is that Sokka indirectly killed Combustion Man, and while it shocked everyone when he blew up, they didn't dwell on it too long. But idk if I'd count that for obvious reasons. Outside of that, the main reason I think their view is understandable is because of the specific situation. It's not about it being Aang, it's about Ozai's life/death directly influencing the course/state of the entire world and the countless lives within it. It's not a matter of a personal vendetta like Katara's situation, it involves the "greater good," and from their perspective there really didn't seem to be any other way to permanently end the threat that the Fire Nation and Ozai posed. Consequently, they're gonna treat defeating Ozai differently than... idk... Hama. If it wasn't for the Lion Turtle, who knows how things would have ended. That's not to say I disagree with or don't understand Aang's desire to defeat him without killing him tho, but even after talking to his past lives, even he himself was unsure if there was really a way to bring peace and balance without killing him before he tapped into energybending.
Yea I agree but I guess to them he's not even human anymore he's just a monstrous enigmatic figure that destroyed their homes and their loved ones and killed so many people. I think their lack of empathy with Aang's beliefs and wishes is because they're still just kids with limited experiences and without the wisdom of age, for example I'm sure if Iroh were to give his advice to Aang it'd probably be way more nuanced just because of his wealth of life experience
