- I took the Ariens Ikon XD 42 to @JimmyLewisMows house to try it out in his back yard, he's been wanting to get a zero turn for his back yard so this was a good one to test out to see how well it would do for him in his 8500 square feet of lawn.

Love that youre using the same mower as me lol i absolutely love my Ikon XD42 i have the 22hp Kohler and its been great i only have 40 hours on mine. Love that you referenced good ol Allyn Hayne hes the GOAT of turf. Love your content keep it up brother

Great video and all around fun with Jimmy Lewis. Life is defiantly crazy these days. From what I have seen you might have some big things coming...can’t wait to see.
This is a Great mower, one of the best I have owned. Mine was underpowered (18 HP Kawasaki), 42" deck. I found that the seat was comfortable, but if you leave the arm rests up, they dig into the frame. I sold it and bought another zero turn, only to find out that Ariens equipment warranties are not transferrable. I know own a RED machine, and it cuts great, much better than the IKON XD 42. I did not like the ROPS bar, it served no purpose except to block access to the oil filter. Deck adjustment was easy and spot on. Nice review Brett ! If you purchase one, get the Kohler engine. All around an excellent Zero Turn Mower.

Is the deck stickout enough on the 42 to get good edging without rubbing tires?
The 52 and 60 and offset to the left for tight edging ability.

I think so. It's very sturdy and well built. The biggest issue with it will be the hydros are not serviceable.

The 52” deck is offset to one side. Is it also this way on the 42”? Just curious if it’s centered because I want to put a striping kit on one of these.
