How to wind the hose into the reel of a Gerni pressure washer

This video is in response to a recent video by Mr Peter Pellicia who shows us his method of winding in the hose into the hose reel of a Gerni pressure washer. So I am showing my method for him to decide which method he wants to employ.

Excellent video! 2022 and Gerni still can't be arsed including simple instructions like yours. I was even questioning my sanity and wondering if the reel was meant for the power cord rather than the high pressure hose!

I was pulling my hair out trying to work out the best way to wheel it you just saved me a lot of time and trouble no thanks to the Gerni instructions they were uselessl.

Brilliant. A little extra that might help some. Loosen the pressure hose connection going into the pressure sprayer. It will allow you to twist the hose connection and get rid of the twisting of the hose minimising the chance of kinking. The hose is quite rigid and kinks easily.

Thank you for your help. The Gerni instructions show step by step except for fitting hose.
I rang the help desk they told me to ring one of the service centres.
He said he wasn’t paid to help and told me to ring Gerni back.
The next five minutes she explained why the service centre should help.
She said to take it to the service centre I said they’re outside of my LGA Lockdown area. Bunnings tried yet Telstra let me down and I lost signal.
I now have the hose on the reel.

G'day mate, sorry it took me so long to get to your video. It's always good to have another viewpoint. It's a shame that Gerni did not develop a system similar to your typical garden hose real. At least that way we wouldn't have to disconnect stuff.

Thank you for posting. I had a gerni classic for 10 yrs and when it broke down, I bought this model recently. I thought the chord could be wounded out when it was attached to the gun . Alas, much wishful thinking it was. Thank you for posting this video. At least my expectations are now relevelled. It's a great unit after all.
Gerni instructions are pretty much prepared after midnight and a good dose of crack. Most of them were not relevant. I think words were top expensive to print.

Thanks for this. That’s the best method I could come up with too after getting a Gerni 3600 to replace a 6 yr old Aldi ‘Workzione’ pressure cleaner which broke down. The Aldi one not only had a proper hose storage system (with metal piping up into the reel to where the hose attached actually inside the reel, not this Gerni rubbish at the bottom of the machine) but the Aldi pressure cleaner also was 2.2kw rather than the Gerni 1.5kw and cheaper than the $199 I paid for the Gerni.
Ok the Aldi Workzone didn’t have the 5yr warranty the Gerni had but it lasted over 6yrs anyway (still too short a life in my opinion). Only problem was the little rubber O rings on the hose perished over the years and I had to spend $5 at a hardware store getting replacements. This Gerni. hose reel design is annoying and so amateurish for such a well established company. Maybe I should have bought the Karcher instead

If I had known how useless the hose reel on the Gerni 3600 was I wouldn’t have bought it, I would have gone with a model with no hose reel. Disgusted. I’ll be posting reviews to that effect.

No no no!!! Best thing to do is not attach the real at all and just coil the hose up in your hands after detaching it from the gun. Start the coils from the attached and and then place into the top opening of the handle, same for the power lead. Way way quicker and way less hassle. Also less coil memory in the hose. Trust me on this one.
