the picross puzzle at 3:33 is a cute tiny quote sprite. It isn’t actually solvable, I put it into a website and it couldn’t do some of it until I filled a few more of the boxes
There's multiple solutions because I didn't design it carefully enough; You can solve most of it with picross logic, and by the time you get to that point, you can probably figure out what it's supposed to be and solve it from there :)

Hello, JumboDS64 here! All of the visuals were rendered by me using a custom Processing program to render frames, then said frames were compiled via Shotcut. Perhaps we'll release said program in the future... (it's a fucking mess of spaghetti code lol) P.S.: Yes, all the animation is timed to the BPM via a bit of math (except curly and quote in the GTA section, since their animation looked bad at anything but its original intended speed)
Happy to see this, as it's my favorite song from Cave Story! The parts I liked best were Redial, We Are Number One, Stereo Madness, Smart Race, Rhythm Toys, Slider, Sting Chameleon, and Disco Necropolis. Great work to all contributors!
