I have two questions, do you ever hand fire your shows or is it all e-fire?
And after getting your license to shoot 1.3G does the ATF ever stop by unannounced to check your stuff?

I am an amateur Pyro engineer. Lots and lots to learn. Been studying and experimenting for the last 3 decades. Just wanted to add this bit of trivia - After the Chinese, India is probably the oldest user of incendiary rockets. Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan, used BP rockets against the British East India Company in 1792 and 1799.
I believe a painting depicting that rocketry battle hangs somewhere within the portals of NASA.

I love this documentary on Fireworks, it was very cool to see how the whole world loves Fireworks. For some it's a business, some it's a hobby, and for others it's a life style. Me being the later. It may sound weird, but I live to shoot Fireworks and enjoy Fireworks. For me Fireworks are a escape from a life of hardship. They are my release or a way to forget about all the bullshit in life. This video really captured that same feeling from other cultures. Even though I've seen it at least 20times already, I'll watch it off your channel anyway just to support your channel 👍💥👍

I love fireworks much. I lived in a forbidden state and the only way we picked them up as a Kid in 1960's was when we would take a road trip out west or south of the mason-dixon line. The only place to get them was a stands or trailers set up at gas stations or restaurant parking lots, no fireworks mega-stores back then. In the past 20 years fireworks have had a fantastic revival. But unfortunately I might suspect this will reverse. "They make too noise, make too much air pollution, and too many injuries. " I don't subscribe to any of that, but busy-bodies and government love to poke their nose into everybody elses business. Its their religion

@@nedgorski funny…seeing as how more than half of the nations in this documentary have much more “socialist” governments than the USA…and they still have fireworks. I think you have more to fear with the big manufacturers pushing laws to keep hobbyists like you out of the picture than any “socialists” taking away your fireworks. Socialism = government owning the means of production, so when the local fire department comes to put out the fire you accidentally started with a rocket, and they do it for free, thank socialism…or when someone breaks into your shop and steals something, and the cops come, make a report, search for and find the culprit-and they, again, do it for free, thank “socialism.” Now when you accidentally blow your hand off making a shell, and your insurance company refuses to cover your medical care, and you’re $275,000 in debt and can’t make fireworks anymore because you had to sell everything you own to get out of debt, thank capitalism.
I love your videos, you clearly know what you’re doing and are not stupid, so I’d expect you to know what socialism actually is before saying something like that.

Most accidents come from people trying to make what they need instead of being able to buy it in the correct form to use. At least from what iv read anyways.

Just like about everything else, Japanese fireworks are by far the most spectacular.

When it comes to ball shells, LC, I'd pretty much agree. But, when we see Mexican Castillos, Spain's Fallas, Maltese and Italian multibreak cylinder shells, Maltese Irdieden (fancy, complex wheels), the US hobbyist community and their 'works, etc., we find that many cultures have their own specialized corner on wonderful fireworks.

For the life of me I will NEVER understand why some people build shells with the time fuse on top. It belongs on the bottom with the lift charge. If for some reason the quick match goes out after lighting the time delay, or if the lift fails, you now have an explosion inside the pipe. And if that occurs during a hand light, someone is getting hurt, or worse.

I'm not sure which shells from the video you're talking about. On large shells the time fuse or spollette is the weakest area of the shell. They can't take the force of the gas pressure from the lift and prematurely lights the shells contents. Most builders who top fuse shells run two lengths of fuse to the lift. It's relatively rare that they both malfunction. It certainly happens from time to time, it's fireworking, impossible to control every single variable. The best we can do is what we know to be time tested and safe. Those who hand light large shells are generally very well away or behind a bunker by the time the shells lifts anyway.

Most ball shells are bottom fused, but with cylinder shells, it's safer to top fuse them. Because of their shape and increased weight, the pressure on the bottom of a cylinder shell is much greater than on a ball shell, and the flat shape of that cylinder's bottom is more susceptible to damage and blow through than is the shape of a ball shell. In general, the traditional methods have developed through ages of trial and error, and there are good reasons for the forms they have taken.
