- There are some exceptions to this, and that is:
1: Takaya, Aigis and Koromaru don’t count, they must be using an Evoker (Koromaru does have an evoker, but im referring to the main types of Evokers)
2: If a character fully summons their persona offscreen, without hearing the sound, or even if they do summon a persona offscreen even with the noise, it doesn’t count.
3: Didn’t add the nightmare sequence cause it wasn’t real.

I honestly love the design choice to make their eyes glaze over when they use an Evoker, as if they were ACTUALLY just shot in the head. Really shows these things are working as intended lmao

@Lonewulf321 Considering Akihiko's eyes almost never glaze over I think that it was only happening when they were new to the power.
Especially since it seems that the more experienced people like Akihito eventually are able to get used to it

fun fact (if I remember correctly): in an earlier version of the story the Evoker was just a regular gun with *actual* bullets, and the explanation as to why they don't just drop dead is because the Persona would heal any damage done by the bullet before attacking

God, Akihiko looks so dorky when he's using his evoker. Like, the pose kind of works when you look at him at one specific angle, and he's stationary (like in the games), but the moment he starts running around like that or the angle is head-on, he looks really goofy

What was interesting to see in this was an Evoker actually failing/jamming. That has never happened before, nor being mentioned. So seeing Junpeis evoker just straight up jam in the fight against the Priestess, god i wish we'd see something like that explored more
The Evoker didn't jam, Junpei ran out of energy. The Evokers aren't real guns, so there isn't anything inside. Summoning a Persona is tiring so when Junpei was overdoing it, he hit his limit.
It’s essentially the SP mechanic in the game. Once they run out of SP they can’t summon their personas.

@@AbyssDwellerthetokutuber Nah, I can't forgive it for swapping Burn my Dread and The Battle for Everyone's Souls. That will always hold it back for me. Movie 2 was the best with how much it improved Ken and Shinjiro.
Edit: Also changing it so Yukari nearly falls into Apathy Syndrome, and her Persona going berserk is completely against what her character, especially at this point in the story.
Also moving all of the party's Persona evolutions to the end of the film (aside from Junpei's) was a terrible decision. Evolution for the P3 cast comes from themselves and their own actions self reflection in the story, not like 4/5 where is a reward for hanging out with the MC few times.

I like how they at least tried to give each member a somewhat original way to shoot themselves. Like Makoto, Junpei, Fuuka and Jin, the classic from the side. Yukari, from the front. Akihiko, from the front but he's doing the effort of holding it upside down for some reason. Mitsuru, from the side with an angle. Ken isn't even shooting at the right place but it works anyway. Chidori from under the jugular.
Yukari uses her thumbs which was always bizarre. Akihiko aims it like its an actual gun and typically aims it right above his eye like a lobotomy. Though the anime weirdly enough has him actually make contact with his forehead.
Ken is actually aiming at his heart, which would still have that "I'm gonna die" feel the evokers aim to achieve.

I interpreted Ken's method of using the evoker as a way to show his innocence as the youngest of the group. Like, both the brain and the heart are Important parts of our body, but a child is more likely to believe that destroying the heart (something that usually represents one's soul) is the way to go, as opposed to the more grown ups who know that the brain is the effective target.
this was very much unintentional, but the fact that the total runtime is 4 minutes and 44 seconds is funny

Ok so 3 things:
1. Love the random inclusion of the Scott the Woz bit at the end. It perfectly captures how this all feels.
2. At 2:06 Ken proves that you don't actually need to shoot yourself in the head to summon your Persona, so yeah, take that as you will.
3. Where is the best place to watch these movies online? I don't care about english dubs but don't mind if they are the only one's available

I honestly thought that evoker shoot real bullets and as the person shooting themselves gets overstressed they summon a persona which makes the bullet not dangerous anymore but after a bit of research i found out an evoker is just some stupid toy 😂
It has a plume of dusk inside apparently, its meant to make the user feel stressed but tbh after using it so many times one could get used to it.
Its a weird concept
So the personas manifest after one takes a look at their own mortality so the gun and shooting yourself is like a way to remind you of your own mortality to help you summon. It's all one giant allegory.
Basically, Evokers are triggers… and yes, pun intended.

According to the official manga, The evoker does 'shoot' and causes the exact pain when it's used. Which explains why everyone is so iffy about it the first few times. Before knowing, I found it so strange why for example, Yukari couldnt do it in the cutscenes and had such a hard time if it didnt cause pain. But it does lol.
